Booked 2 rooms for me and a colleague on a 1 night work stayover. The internet did not work and it was never resolved. The restaurant got our order wrong, and missed things off, and I had to ask for ketchup 5 times! It wasn't even busy? And the final insult, both our rooms had skylights in them, with no blinds or curtains to cover them up, so at the crack of dawn the rooms filled with light making it impossible to sleep, that was at 5:15am! What a joke! Its a shame because other than those issues the place seems nice enough, but I won't be going back.

The room was comfortable and roomy with an excellent shower with good hot water and water pressure. The beds were fine (the older type spring mattresses were a worry but we slept well). The breakfast was excellent every day, especially the eggs benedict. The pub is cute and clean with a couple of nice real ales on. We would stay again if traveling in the area again.

I needed a room at short notice and this was a real find. Helpful, friendly staff. Great food and the room was clean and a good size.

I ended up going out at 10:30pm to the Tesco in the next town to buy ear plugs, although they helped a little I could feel the music, the disco should have finished at 11:30 but checking our watches it stopped at 12pm.There was also lots of very loud guests running along the corridor, locking themselves out etc. When the music finally stopped the noise continued from guests shouting/talking in their rooms, at around 1:30am I got up and thought about trying to sleep in my car it was that bad. The curtains in the room also let a lot of light in. We were that tired the next morning we couldn't be bothered to have breakfast and left.

The Black Horse is the best Pub I’ve stayed in so far. Tiny quaint town, but a remarkably good pub for the location. Food was very good as well, and so was the staff.

Lovely room, very quiet, bed extremely comfortable, perfect for a few days away from home. The landlady and staff were lovely too.

Overall very good, room was clean but a few maintenance issues

Very nice pub/hotel, good room size and quality food/service.

Very steep stairs. Nobody around to offer assistance. My husband is disabled and I struggled to manage very heavy fire doors and get our luggage up to the room Rooms are clean and very nice but its spoilt that I was exhausted just getting to the room

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely stay at the Black Horse while visiting friends. Lovely and welcoming reception, spacious and comfortable room and an excellent breakfast. Well worth a visit
