Everything about this hotel is pleasant: staff cheerful and attentive to every guest need, proximity to sites and restaurants, nicely appointed rooms, and generous and tasty breakfasts. I would recommend it as the main lodging to consider when visiting Porto.

A truly lovely stay at the Torel Palace. A beautiful building, large, spacious rooms which were very clean and the service was faultless. Little touches like turndown service, we got champagne and delicious sweets on arrival and again on our last night. The breakfast was really good, a good selection of hot and cold dishes. Great location, very central to everything.

I loved staying here! The staff was so friendly and helpful. They gave us restaurant recommendations, set up a Tuk Tuk tour of the city, and set up transportation and a visit to a wine tasting in Douro valley.
The hotel was comfortable, clean, pretty, and nice. The spa was cute and I had a nice massage. The little library for meals was also great. We didn’t get to swim in the pool but it looked lovely.
The location was central to many things but it was further up the hill and tucked away compared to the river side where it seemed was all the energy and crowds.

Beautiful hotel that blends old and new. Gorgeous decor. Thoughtful staff. Comfortable and impressive rooms. Many amenities. Honestly one of the best stays I have had in Europe; we had a family suite, which allowed us to partition space and give everyone privacy in what felt like very opulent yet comfortable surroundings. Highly recommend.

The check in procedure was very good. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. It is a beautiful hotel in easy walking distance of everything. There are some nice little touches like a turn down service.
Our only negative was we felt the bathroom was not very functional in terms of counter space.

For us the Torel Palce was perfect. Beautiful quiet rooms with real character, stone marble and timber. Fantastic location, walking distance to so much of Porto and Gaia.
Staff were all lovely - lots of help from reception team for dinner and Fado bookings and directions to key sites.
Breakfast very good. Nice selection and lots of egg hot choices and not too large bearing in mind how much other eating and drinking is to be done in Porto.
We thought we were splashing out when we booked but Torel Palace was well worth it.

I love the hotel!
we stayed 2 nights during our visit in Porto. We used Valet parking and when we arrived it was raining but the staff was already waiting outside when he saw us approaching. They are so friendly and genuine and helpful.
The check in was very smoothly and we were offered with drinks and snacks. The lobby is beautiful and they have a very tastful and nicely decorated library cafe.
The breakfast is in restaurant Blind and the service and food are excellent. They also have a garden that you can sit out to enjoy the weather when it’s good.
Our room is also very clean and well decorated. We were offered Easter snacks during our stay as well.
Overall I would like ho go back to stay in this hotel if I ever go back to Porto

As a globetrotter, this is the few best places in Europe I’ve ever stayed. In particular, this place is a have for book lovers. Each room is named after a famous Portuguese author. There is also a library where guests can have light fare while browsing books and relaxing after a day in the city. My only regret is I did not get to experience the wonderful restaurant BLIND because it was closed during my stay.

Staff was lovely and accommodating. Location was excellent. The renovation to an historic building; however attractive, sometimes didn’t work. Skeleton keys were not easy to manage. There should be more hangers, drawers, and shelving space, but the rooms were tight. The only downside. Overall an enjoyable stay in a lovely city.
