Our host Rui was absolutely amazing. He was so helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was good and we were able to easily walk to the city center. Some great cafe options within close proximity.

From the moment I arrived, Rui, our host, was the most hospitable, kind, and helpful person. He gave me excellent insider advice on how to get to Pena palace and back. I am very glad I listened and went early. He is full of excellent food recommendations in and around Sintra. I'll admit I was a little wet-eyed to leave. Definitely be back!

A warm welcome by Rui and help with our bags created an immediate good impression and this high level of service was repeated throughout our stay. The staff certainly know how to run an efficient and comfortable boutique hotel. The provided breakfasts were a great way to start the day and prepare us for lots of sightseeing and walking. The bed was quite comfortable and there was little disturbance from outside traffic. This establishment is within walking distance of the National Palace and plenty of bars, shops , cafes and restaurants. Other areas for sightseeing are just a further 10 to 15 minutes walk further on although there are plenty of transport options also available. Hotel Nova Sintra is just a 10 minute walk either the train station which also makes this location convenient for day trips to Cascais or Lisbon. I can see that the terrace would be put to good use in the warmer months of the year but unfortunately the weather was a little unsettled during our stay. This is our second visit to Sintra. Would we visit again? Definitely - there is still a number of sights and day trips to keep our interest. Where would we stay? The Hotel Nova Sintra again of course. After all we travel for enjoyment and appreciate good service when we experience it.

The best place to stay in all of Sintra! Owner and general manager, Rui, is very welcoming and helpful. Beautiful family business, clean and extremely well kept, excellent location close to bus and train stations. We loved calling it home for a few nights!

All the lovely reviews this property receives are true! I can't think of a better place to end our trip than with Rui at Hotel Nova Sintra! Because it is off / above the street, it is quiet and has a lovely view from the patio as well as the room window. It is quite safe with access by guest key only. The train station and town bus stops are only a short walk down the street. We arrived by bus from Porto and made a bit longer walk to the hotel, but very do-able with rolling luggage. The complimentary breakfast buffet had a great deal of variety and was filling and delicious. Our room was clean and comfortable. My favorite thing about this hotel was the black washcloth provided for make-up removal - I know that might sound silly, but most European hotels do not provide washcloths. I had forgotten my own, and this was a nice touch.

Very convenient location, walking distance to the train station. There is a self service washerteria next to the hotel. Very nice breakfast. Room was not big but very clean. Staff was very friendly.

We had a wonderful two nights in Sintra, giving us plenty of time to enjoy the sights (too many to do in a day trip from Lisbon). The staff was exceptionally nice and helpful, offering us inside tips on the best routes to take. Hotel was easy to find and convenient to the landmarks but also nicely out of the main touristy bustle.

Staff, service, breakfast, accommodations could not have been better, kinder or more pleasant. The terrace offered charming view, many places to sit and relax, olive trees and inspiring atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back! Family owned with pride!

The location of the hotel is great for exploring all the local attractions, and has an amazing view of the Moorish Castle up in the hills, from the terrace One of the key factors that set this hotel apart from others was the exceptional hospitality of our host, Rui. From the very beginning, he welcomed us with warmth and genuine kindness. Rui's extensive knowledge of the area helped us plan our daily excursions efficiently, ensuring we made the most of our time exploring the area. His dedication to ensuring our comfort and satisfaction was evident throughout our stay, as he always checked in to see if everything was to our liking whenever we met him. The room we stayed in was both elegant and cozy, offering a perfect retreat after long days of exploration. The cleaning is great and one of the thoughtful gestures that really made an impression on my girlfriend, was how they to her surprise had cleaned all the hairs off her hairbrush. In conclusion, I cannot recommend Hotel Nova Sintra enough.

What a terrific place to stay! A small family owned B and B conveniently located to everything. The owner Rui takes great pride in providing great service and maintaining the property. He and his employees were all extremely helpful. The breakfast was great too. Highly recommend!!

The weather was really wonderful (75-80 Fahrenheit) and we were able to stroll to and around the city center. Rui was an extremely knowledgeable and caring host. He shared his tips for visiting the attractions in the area as well as shared some recommendations. He checked in with us as we saw him throughout the day to make sure all our needs were met. We would love to visit again!

Sintra and Hotel Nova have been the highlight of our Portugal trip. The hotel is beautiful, in a great location, and the host, Rui, was amazing, providing helpful tips about the area.

Just fantastic. The Manager Rui was very nice and always helpful. He has free parking nearby and you can sit on the terrace and look up at the Moorish Castle.

The property was in a perfect location to see all the sights of Sintra. Rui was an amazing host through out the entire stay, it felt like a home away from home.

Our stay at Hotel Nova Sintra was absolutely marvelous. We came with our dear friends to celebrate his 70th birthday. Rui made our stay so special. The rooms were very nice, clean and spacious. After visiting the town, we would come back every afternoon around 4-5 and enjoy Happy Hour on the patio. Such a lovely experience.

The Hotel is located close to the train station, restaurants and easy access to all attractions. Rui and Domingo were very helpful and made us feel very comfortable during our stay. Would highly recommend this family run hotel a real gem.

We loved this hotel! 10 ! Great location, clean as a whistle and fabulous breakfast & happy hour ! The outdoor patio is beautiful looking up at Moorish Castle! The owner made us feel at home! Will be back!
