Getting away from it!

We were incredibly disappointed by the poor quality of cleanliness and facilities provided. We were unable to stay beyond one night and our concerns with the property included: 1) From the moment we walked in we were hit with an awful smell of rotting food from the kitchen. It seemed to be coming from the dirty exhaust fan and made us feel physically sick. 2) The apartment was very dirty. There were stains on the carpet, blinds, floors and some walls. There were previous guests' hairs (including pubic hair) on the floors and in the bathrooms (examples provided in the photos). The kitchen surfaces were greasy and we had to clean everything before preparing dinner. There was a previous occupant's used dental floss under the dining room table, what appeared to be a blood stain on the blinds and brown stains on the bathroom mats. 3) Facilities were damaged, faulty or missing. For the 5 of us there were only 3 forks, a couple of glasses and 3 towels. I contacted the property agent and their response was: "Hi Phillip, kindly check the wardrobe and if not that's all there is at the apartment." When we explained that there weren't any extra their response was: "You are welcome. Will inform you if we can send someone across with some more towels for you." Nothing was delivered, so we ended up having to go and purchase towels, mugs and glasses for our family at the nearby shops. 4) We couldn't access the freezer as the cabinetry was broken. 5) Our family includes one person with a gluten allergy and 2 people with a dairy allergy. As the apartment was dirty, there were bread crumbs and food stains throughout the kitchen. This meant we had to clean everything and even then, we were still worried that someone would have a reaction. 6) We have stayed at numerous properties through Booking.com, both in Australia and recently in Paris and the UK.

Good location within walking distance of the Dartford train station from where it was easy to catch a train to central London, also within 1-2 hours of attractions in Kent

It looked like the bathrooms hadn’t been cleaned after the last occupants vacated, there were hairs and scum in the shower and in wash basins. There could have been more utensils in the kitchen like different sizes of pans. There could have been more towels for the length of the stay (4 nights). Also the curtains had been left open on the day we checked in and as it was a sunny day the apartment had got really hot and it was uncomfortable to sleep, the fan had a broken leg so couldn’t be moved around, the corner chair had a broken leg and hence a health and safety hazard. Dining chairs were also worn off and could do with an upgrade. There wasn’t much instructions on how to get out of the car park once the keys were left in the letter box, we were locked in for a while until someone else let us out.

Easy booking at the last minute. Easy to find. Very accommodating. Home from home, just how we like it.

Nothing, it was perfect for our weekend stay.

Location. Full kitchen and comfy living area.

Place was filthy. No way to control hot water in any of the showers, the taps use some electronic system that when it decides the water is "too hot" drops down to colder temperature.
