Didn’t see anyone this morning before we left and we are on a hurry because we have a booking at 12 noon at one of the heritage site, and bit of a distance, so we left without any note, and I apologise for it 🫣

Would have been good if there’s in suite bathroom 🚽 having said that, there’s 2 sharing ones that is clean ☺️

Bert was the perfect host, we had a cuppa in our hands within 5 minutes and an offer of some roast dinner too 🥰 The room was perfect as was the location. Literally 10 minutes from the town centre. It very much felt like a home from home and everything was so chilled and relaxed, exactly what we were looking for during our stay. Much more personable than staying at a branded chain of hotels and very good value for money. Not only would we highly recommend, we will definitely be coming back later in the year 👍🏻

The property is at the top of a steep, private road so access on foot was hard work. More information in the room would be helpful - the code for the internet should be written out rather than guests having to grovel on the floor to access it. The television had various channels available, but it did not seem possible to watch 'live' TV. A brief guide on how to use the TV would be helpful.

Location was great. Bert is a fantastic host and the house was wonderful. Kitchen and dining room available to use and because our TV wasn’t working we had the Lounge with its wonderful log burner at our disposal. Just fantastic.

An en-suite would of been good but the shower room was satisfactory.

Bert has been such a welcoming host. I've felt really comfortable and at ease during my stay! The rooms are lovely, always well presented and tidy. The kitchen is a really lovely space too and really well equipped. The location is very convenient, just a short walk into town, but is tucked away in a nice quiet corner.

Ber is an incredible and thoughtful host, providing a wonderfully comfortable environment in which to meet and chat with others.

Such a friendly and easygoing host! Very comfortable and relaxed stay in a large clean room whilst working night shifts at the hospital nearby. Will definitely be back.

The lodge is a little tricky to find but not too bad.

The host very generously offered us free use of all amenities. Very good value for money.

The photos on Booking.com website don't really give an accurate impression of the location of the house. It looks as though it's situated in lots of green space in a secluded area, but that's achieved with a fish-eye lens.

Nice location, friendly proprietor and a pleasant Barnstaple property. Good value for money and would be happy to stay at the property again.

Shared bathroom facilities, which might be difficult for some guests.

The service was impeccable, as young stayers I feel as if the stigma around us is bad but he was very welcoming and offered me and my partner free tea/coffee, the bathroom was very clean and eye appeasing. He was very talkative and a nice chap that also respected boundaries and have a lot of privacy. 100/10!!
