The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is right on the beach. The hotel allowed us to check out early without a fuss.

Where to begin. The positive reviews on this hotel are very confusing. We planned to stay here for 3 nights and checked out as soon as we arrived due to the terrible facilities, awful wifi connection, overpriced food and drinks and generally miserable environment. The location is great (right on the beach), however there are only a few broken sunloungers piled up in the corner by pool. The room had damp, no internet connection, tape holding the corners together, no kettle. We arrived at 11pm after eating out to find everything pitch black, no warning of this. The breakfast is not great. It’s in a strange location very far from any decent restaurants or bars. The cost to eat in the restaurant is so overpriced, a small beer is 100 baht. Do not recommend at all. We moved hotel to Beach Republic for the same price and it’s so much better with amazing facilities.

2 beds bungalows are little bit dark inside, no kettle.

Simple but clean bungalows steps away from a beautiful beach. A/C works great (and is quiet). Lots of small restaurants a short walk away. Complementary bottled water every day was nice. Comfortable bed, and nice little patio to sit and relax with a view to the beach.

Breakfast was OK but not spectacular (eggs, fruit, coffee). Would have been nice to have a little coffee maker in the room.

1. Amazing sea view, property just beside the sea. Very open space. 2. Peaceful and quiet place. 3. Staff is very cooperative and helpful. 4. Can play table tennis. 5. They have a pretty decent and clean swimming pool. 6. Great food restaurants nearby.

1. Lack of amenities. E.g. toothbrush 2. Have no way to contact reception from the room. I.e. no telephone. 3. They took my card and completed payment without even asking me. So please have clear conversations before handing them your card.

Accommodation was very basic. Not very clean. Wires hanging from wall. Gaps in door. Upgraded to standard double. Little better but still had gecko running up walls, shabby. Not necessarily cheap compared to other accommodation on Koh Samui. Beach location okay but out of way for anything else.

The cheapest bungalows are quite old but are clean and very well maintained with new bathrooms. Lovely gardens with large swimming pool. The beach here is very nice. Buffet breakfast has a wide range of food which changes daily. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent WiFi. Close to restaurants, bars, convenience store.

This bungalow was a perfect location on the beach to relax and enjoy! The pool was extremely clean and had plenty of chairs for all the residents. Plus umbrellas if you wanted some shade from the sun! Most bungalows (ours included) had a pool view and ocean view! Amazing!

The rooms and the view was amazing. Everything was super clean and the facilities were awesome. The pool was a very nice addition to the whole hotel.

If you'll book any tour from the hotel it will be expensive in comparison to the market. Same goes for the cabs to and from airport.

Super engagement by all the team, who are proactive with a 'can-do' approach. Especially those working in the restaurant who were cheerful, funny and highly efficient. Special mention for their boss who leads her team perfectly and ensures nobody is stressed no matter what happens. Our bungalow was perfect, in size - facilities, and we had a partial view of the beach. A good strong shower, fridge and effective air-con. We loved sitting on the balcony, but being right beside the beach and well away from the noise of the road made this a perfect haven to relax. Shangrilah has a real community feel and we are seriously looking at coming back 2024 for a few months.

There are lots of WIFI options but we both had brought some work with us and found the signal not consistent no matter whether we were in our bungalow or the public areas... we had to keep toggling between networks to maintain our connection. This was a particular problem for me as I had several important video conferences to attend.

The pool area is awesome! Very well laid out. Our group of 22 had a fantastic time playing in and around the pool. The beach was very nice. The staff cleaned the majority any wash up onto the beaches in the morning and the beach was comfortable and close to the resort and almost no crowd. Breakfast was good, varied day to day and the usual fair for complimentary breakfasts. The staff is something I can't compliment enough. They absolutely killed it. They made sure everyone always was well taken care of at any time of the day or night. The restaurant was top notch. Our group ate there every day for various meals and I don't think there was a single complaint at any of them. Amazing work!

Honestly, for the cost, there isn't a thing I didn't like. This place knocked it out of the park. It is a bit more remote, but a short cab ride or scooter ride to every amenity.
