I'd wanted to stay here since my very first visit to Stonehaven. The view is just great and we had breakfast on the terrace. The breakfast selection was limited but okay.

The furniture has seen better times.

The view and location was great. The terrace was on the beach front looking out to Stonehaven Bay. Just round the corner from the Town Centre was very handy. David the owner was very helpful and friendly when communicating. We are both Gluten Free and he kindly left a box of GF breakfast things for us. There was Illy Arabic express coffee for our breakfast! We are both total Illy fans! The shower room/toilet was a spacious. Good shower. Large towels.

The room was much smaller and much more basic than we expected, when looking at the photos beforehand on the website. Again a case of ‘clever photography’! ☹️ The paintwork was all white and rather dull. Would benefit from a colour tint to brighten it up. Very basic white doors. Very basic large tiles half way up the wall. (I see it was hit and probably flooded by the big storm some years back, hence the tiles maybe?) Overall, it could do with someone who has an eye for tasteful design and decoration to make it look much more stylish and welcoming! Wouldn’t take much! The cleaning had not been done properly before our arrival. Found dirt and even hairs in the shower room sink! The toilet rim was dirty. The terrace outside was dirty. Did not look like it had been swept and cleaned. There was dog poo on the grass outside the terrace. The bed was too small for two people. It was a standard double bed. I actually fell out at one point onto the floor! It could easily take a bigger bed in the space. The outside door was so stiff and hard to open. It could do with loosening off some. And plastic flowers in a pot on terrace table and plastic leaves screen on either side! Give me a break! Lol! Saw more plastic flowers around the town. Stonehaven has gone a bit mad! This is my home town. I grew up there. It used to be so beautiful! 🙁 At £138 a night, we feel it is overpriced for what is offered. This is the second time within a month we feel we have been overcharged for what turns out to be a very basic room. Seems to be the way so much now in Scotland! 💵💰

The room was very clean and neat and included all of the must haves. And was actually quite quiet. The location is one block off of the main market square and about a 10 minute walk from the harbor.

The directions and pre-stay information do not clearly express that access to the courtyard room is down the narrow dead end Beachgate alley and extremely difficult to maneuver in anything larger that a compact. Best to park at the market square and walk down. Also - there is a Sunday morning market in the square = if you dont leave before 8:00 you have to wiggle around all of the vendors to exit.

The view, the studio was very well laid out, and had all the items we needed. Breakfast options (continental) were great and having in the room was a nice touch.

Only negative was the shower water could go from just right to hot to cold when someone else in building used them.

The room was amazing with very comfortable bed, stunning views of the seashore and it was very well equipped. Self service is a great idea, it was easy to get in. Breakfast was delicious and well stocked, it was nice to have it on the balcony, watching the rising sun.

Bed size could be bigger.

I had the room with the balcony and it was spacious clean and comfortable with a great view. The host was nice and welcoming.

the bed was a bit small for us but that’s just because we are both tall it didn’t spoil our trip tho!

unfortunately the weather was horrendous during our stay with high wind and rain but the bedroom was lovely and warm and did not spoil our time

Location was fantastic. We fell asleep to the sound of waves.We enjoyed the whole experience and would recommend Stonehaven as a nice place to visit.

Great location lovely room

A lovely, clean room with a gorgeous view of the ocean. A little open to dog walkers outside the large windows but a small price to pay for the view and the sound of the waves as you sleep. Very helpful owner and a lovely selection for breakfast and a thoughtful bottle of wine for the evening. I would recommend and will look forward to staying again on future visits.

Efficient room right on the waterfront with huge picture window of the sea and sweet little front patio with table for 2. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom room with a great shower. The hospitality package of 2 small bottles of wine was nice.

Breakfast was basic do it yourself toast, cereal, yogurt.

couldn’t fault this property, literally right on the beach and so close to so many attractions. will be back!
