L'unico con vista spettacolare sulle montagne e sull'Oceano Pacifico
Ci crederai solo quando lo vedrai di persona (poiché le foto pubblicate qui purtroppo non rendono giustizia ai panorami a quasi 360 gradi). Questa casa si trova in piedi sulla cima di una montagna, a un'altitudine di oltre 3200 piedi, sopra la città di Atenas che domina la grande valle occidentale che si estende fino all'Oceano Pacifico. Situato com'è alla "porta del cielo", ha le viste più sorprendenti che si trovano in America Centrale disponibili direttamente dal tuo salotto, giorno e notte. Non solo puoi vedere il lussureggiante costaricano (in possesso di tutte le possibili sfumature di verde!) foresta pluviale dalla maggior parte del perimetro della proprietà, ma può anche prendere la costa del Pacifico e l'oceano dalla piscina a sfioro. Goditi il tuo giardino privato pieno di fauna selvatica, vivida flora tropicale e alberi da frutto tra cui avocado, limone, mango, banana, piantaggine, guava, caffè e altre prelibatezze esotiche. Guarda e ascolta gli uccelli selvatici locali mentre cantano e svolazzano da un albero all'altro nel boschetto dietro la casa. (Rimarrai stupito dalla vicinanza dei pulcini quando ti visitano in piscina durante una delle dolci piogge del Costa Rica.) Goditi le brezze rilassanti dalla tua amaca nella parte anteriore della casa o nell'esclusiva sala di lettura della casa che ti consente, mentre sei in casa, di goderti il vento trasversale che sale da un lato della montagna e dall'altro. [Il National Geographic ha chiamato Atenas come il miglior clima del mondo. Provalo tu stesso!] E i panorami non si fermano. Puoi ancora gustarli durante l'esperienza senza pari della tua "jacuzzi con vista" privata, o mentre fai la fila al bar o ceni all'aperto nella veranda della casa.

It is a beautiful property with amazing views. Communication with the host for booking and the manager for access and tours was top-notch. The tour and transportation providers were outstanding. The property is fairly comfortable. No air conditioner was not a problem with the elevation and availability of fans. The kitchen was well equipped.
Word of caution: The exterior tiles around the pool and hot tub are unsuitable for walking on while wet and very slick when dry. When wet, bring your ice skates. Use caution to avoid slipping and failing if walking on this damp tile. Ask me how I know. It was the rainy season for our visit. We used bath towels to create a path to the hot tub for traction.

Property managers Sandra and Klaas made sure our stay was perfect! They helped us with excellent restaurant recommendations, booking tours and even a private Chef! They met us in town and led us to this gorgeous property and insured we got settled in properly. The property was spotless, spacious and everything worked well. The view from the Hot Tub and Pool is unbelievable, photos could never do it justice. Beds are comfortable, lots of towels and a fully appointed kitchen. The central location between San Jose, Arenal Volcano and the Beaches was perfect for our day tours. Privacy and the climate here are unbeatable. The mansion is amazing and with the attention to detail and excellent communication from Sandra and Klaas the wonderful memories made during our stay will be unforgettable! We would definitely book here again!

Our Family of 5 loved staying here for our summer vacation. The views and relaxing atmosphere made our trip. We enjoyed relaxing in the pool, hot tub, hammocks, and taking in nature and the views. Sandra was wonderful at helping us plan our trip and communication before we arrived and Marco and Klaas were great at taking us on tours. We had them pick us up at the airport, and took advantage of the grocery delivery and meal service which made for a stress free arrival and start to our vacation. I would definitely recommend using them for transportation and tours. Our favorite was zip lining. We can’t wait to visit Costa Rica again. Thanks for a wonderful trip!

Our first trip to Costa Rica was unforgettable, thanks to Sandra and Marco. Traveling with our two teenagers (15 and 17), we weren't sure what to expect and felt a bit lost in a foreign country. However, Sandra, the property manager, provided outstanding communication, responding promptly and helpfully to our countless questions.
Marco, our driver from the airport and to the Monkey Mangrove, was exceptional. Not only was he incredibly helpful, but he also arranged for a rental car to be delivered right to our house!
The house itself was a paradise. The hot tub and pool were perfect, and we were amazed by the wildlife we saw right on the property. We had visits from toucans, pizotes, parrots (both blue and green), and even a family of monkeys in the treetops along the winding road we walked each morning (just a kilometer from the house).
Having a fridge and stove was incredibly convenient. Each afternoon, when the rain came, we enjoyed the private hot tub and pool while watching the spectacular cloud display.
Overall, this trip was pure joy, and we already miss Costa Rica!

This property is just like the pictures show - absolutely stunning! The property managers were so helpful and kind. I highly recommend this location and if I were to go back, I would plan everything through Klaas’s and Sandra. They were amazing!!

I preference by saying we throughly enjoyed our trip to Costa Rica. The house however is not as pictured, at least as far as the pool and hot tub are concerned. The pictures on this site were taken some time ago. The pool and hot tub are in need of repair. The pool used to be an infinity pool but is no longer. There are mostly missing tiles in the pool and hot tub and there is a ring of mold where the water rests. The hot tub takes 30-40 minutes to get hot but will eventually get up to hot tub temperature. We did not swim in the pool. I did notify the owner and he says he will make repairs to them in the off season.
There is no air conditioning, which we were aware of but were assured the weather is Atenas is the best in the world. It is cool at night but very muggy. The air does not flow well in the master bedroom so we moved to the room with the double beds. It was cooler in there but as I mentioned still muggy leaving the pillows and bedding damp. If it rains and you have to close the windows it gets sticky and hot. There is a fan. There are bugs that will come in of course because it is a tropical area but you can’t close the windows because there is no air conditioning. Little tip: dryer sheets keep most of the bugs out.
The view is stunning!
Overall if the owner makes the repairs to the pool and adds a portable air unit to the master bedroom I would definitely return to this property! And Bunki Tours was amazing. Definitely use their services!

The property is as described. Great view of the mountains and the Pacific Ocean (albeit far). The house was well stocked and had everything we needed. Sandra was very helpful and answered all our questions. We liked the location and enjoyed the local restaurants. They were all great. We enjoyed watching the parrots flying behind the house in the evenings. We loved our stay here.

House was just as advertised- beautiful property, had everything we needed, clean and very comfortable. The view was breathtaking. We highly recommend using PMA Bunkitours. Marco was fantastic- he made our trip worry free. So professional and knowledgeable about the area, perfect driver😊- much needed because the roads aren’t marked well, are curvy and the fog in the rainy season can move in quickly making the roads dangerous at times. Thank you Sandra for the itinerary- all excursions were fabulous (Monkey mangrove tour, Paos Volcano and Waterfall Gardens, Bali Hot Springs, Hanging Bridges, and the Ziplining was EPIC!! I can't say enough about this property. It's magical. It's beautiful. It's comfortable. Marco met us to check us in promptly and was on call IMMEDIATELY if we ran into any issues during our stay, which were incredibly minimal and due to the weather and unavoidable. We did travel during rain season with storms and lightning, so... But I miss being here so much and I've only been home for 3 days. The views were remarkable. The beds were just right. Goldilocks would be thrilled. Welcome gifts were provided and were an exquisite introduction to a new to us country. Favorite part was having coffee in the mornings, listening to the howler monkeys (who only work on Sunday it seems), the birds, the coatis, the fruit trees on site, just everything was perfect. Can't recommend this place enough :)

I was in Costa Rica for a week with my wife and 14-year old daughter. The house was amazing with beautiful views of the valley below. The pool and hot tub were amazing and the views while swimming or soaking were tremendous. The property is a bit outside of town and we had decided not to rent a car. We worked with the tour company and scheduled tours which included transportation but taxis are pretty inexpensive (about $10/trip one way). Overall a fantastic stay and great property management. It was hard to leave!

This property was everything we hoped it would be for our honeymoon. The house is incredible with lots of space and a fantastic outdoor area with a great pool and hot tub set up. But the best thing about the property is the view, it will stay with us forever.

We stayed in La Frontera house for 2 weeks (just left today) and loved every minute of it.
Beautiful and very comfortable property, very clean, with amazing views (even better than pictured), awesome pool and hot tub-- I highly recommend it to any family or friends get away trips. If you want stress free vacation-- incredible management team went above and beyond, they took care of everything we needed, including transportation and guided tours, they were super nice, we had so much fun! My teens favorite was paragliding and ziplining, my favorite was mangrove monkeys and volcano tours. We loved our stay!

The most amazing thing about this property is the views. As in the listing pics, the view from the pool area is incredible, but you can even see San Jose from out front. We spent a lot of our down-time sitting out back enjoying the breeze while birdwatching. We even had a pair of toucans visit us one afternoon.
Most everything you'd need is no more than 10 minutes away in Atenas. It's a good central location to reach the outings we wanted to drive to as well. La Fortuna (2.5 hrs), Jaco Beach (1.3 hrs) and La Paz (1.5 hrs).
The property management staff were all very personable and helpful. We met three of them in person.

This place is amazing! The views can’t be beat! The home itself is a little tired and needs some maintenance work. The infinity pool was not working when we were there but the pool and hot tub were great. The property management team is beyond amazing! Marco, Sandra and Klaus were beyond words! Every recommendation they provided far exceeded our expectations. Marco became a fabulous friend on the tours. You can trust anything they recommend to be top notch! We will be back!

2nd time here... This house is amazing. The view is breathtaking. There are some small upkeep things in progress and needing to happen but they didn't effect our enjoyment of the property at all. The property managers and their assistance with tour arrangements is an awesome bonus feature as well. The water pump went out while we were there which was not a pleasant surprise but the management had a handyman out within the hour and got us functional with running water for the evening and total repair done by the next day. We had a wonderful stay... again.

We just got back from a week at this house.... it is everything you dream it to be. From the easy pick up at the airport to the gas powered jacuzzi and crystal clear pool to the gardens and spectacular view .... this is a house you can get lost living in. The house managers were fabulous getting us food before we arrived and the view omg the view!!! The pictures don't do it justice!! We have memories to last a life time and are already looking at when we can come back. Perfecto!

My wife and I spent 10 days here, and it might have been one of our favorite trips ever. Gorgeous house and amazing property, some of the best views around. Like others have said the pictures don’t even do it justice, absolutely stunning. Sandra was a great host and was there to answer any questions we had. Close to Atenas but also only a little over an hour away from the pacific, excellent location. I love to cook and the kitchen was stocked well with everything you need to make a good homemade meal. Exceedingly one of the best experiences we have had vacationing in Costa Rica which we do often! House is perfect size and has a great set up. The view and the weather is spectacular! I would highly recommend this house and property for any length of getaway. Marco and Sandra were extremely helpful providing airport pickup and drop off and took care of all of our other needs (car rental, etc.) in a timely fashion. Pura Vida!!!

We had an amazing vacation at this house, the whole entire trip was amazing but the house was definitely the best part of the whole trip. Sandra is the most kind person you will meet, she was accommodating & went way over our expectations of a host - thank you for everything you did for us, Marco was an amazing driver & took us everywhere we needed to go plus had amazing recommendations and great conversation. The taxi driver Henry, always made sure we had a ride to town when we needed something & never had long waits for our taxi’s. We Cannot wait to be back in august again! Stay at this property or one of their properties - you will not be disappointed. Thank you again for everything; Pura Vida!

The pictures do not do this house justice! You walk in the front door you are greeted by the stunning view and feel welcome. The pool, hot tub and luscious grounds add to the opulence.
House manager went above and beyond to help us prepare for our trip - getting us reservations for certain tours, answering a multitude of questions from first-time visitors. I highly recommend taking advantage of their services - we felt thoroughly cared for from the moment I reserved the house.
This was one of the best vacations we’ve ever had - and the house was far better than many we have rented around the world.

This was our second time visiting this property. What a special destination for R & R during these times! Aad, Marion, and Sandra were always receptive to our needs and questions.

The house and casita provided plenty of space for 4 couples. It is in the country but easy to access all the sightseeing you want.
We recommend the Cararra Jungle Tour with Victor, Britt Coffee Tour, Costa Rica Animal rescue Center, and Hanging Bridges Tour in Monteverde.
Iguanas restaurant in Atenas was delightful with a varied menu. (Next door is a lab where you can get your Covid test before returning home. It is more convenient and less expensive than the airport)
We could go on and on. This property is truly a piece of Paradise and Close to Heaven.

Absolutely stunning piece of property! Gorgeous house, and the nicest owners and property managers ever! Very easy to communicate to them all, and directions with the Waze app made it super easy to find. Best vacation yet! Can’t wait to come back and experience it all over again.

It's hard to put into words the beauty my eyes soaked in during my stay. The property was immaculate and almost intimidating with it's elegance and sprawl to a single visitor. Beautifully curated art adorned the walls in every room. The open floor plan in the main living space / kitchen gave off grandeur vibrations and was flanked by sleeping quarters on either side. The stunning view of the Pacific Ocean through the mountains and valley below was not just accessible from the pool & outdoor dining area, but every room in the house. I was fortunate enough to catch the most breathtaking sky I've seen in my travels thus far my first evening there. A layered depth of vibrant dream-like colors that looked as if it was painted by the hands of Angels. The property managers are an excellent group of people and helped me immensely during my stay. My procrastinating and spontaneous nature may have caused me more hardship than necessary without their help, and guidance and I am grateful for all of them! Wonderful tours, great conversations, and a lifetime of memories. ¡Pura Vida!

Casa La Frontera del Cielo almost defies description. From the moment we arrived, it was a true vacation. The casa has everything we dreamed of: stunning mountain views, peace and quiet beyond belief, very comfortable indoors, an amazing infinity pool and hot tub (which we took advantage of every day and night!), and property managers/tour guides who made all of our excursions so delightful. It was mindless on our part. No thinking, just relaxing. Thank you for this incredible location and for making our Costa Rican getaway so memorable.

What a wonderful experience! Miguel was extremely helpful throughout the booking process. Aad, Marian and Marco of AMP were extremely helpful with questions about the house, the area and with booking tours and transportation. The house is lovely. So much space and an amazing view! Atenas is a fun little community with friendly locals and plenty of culture to enjoy. I’d highly recommend this stay to anyone!
