The room was a good size and was very functional, although I couldn't get the shower to run hot water, but the bath would, so a bath it was. A little bit noisey but not bad. Bed was a bit hard. Great location.

Really clean and ideally located at the railway station. Clean and comfortable bed with lots near by offering food and drink. Ideal hotel for an overnight stay in Carlisle. I’d definitely stay here again as it offers good value for money.

I paid for an Executive room 114 I did not know there was a connecting room which resulting in hearing everything from room 113, when I say everything I mean everything. Certainly not the gentleman’s fault but he was up several times in the early hours going out for a cigarette, this included a constant cough, I even got the same 6.30 am wake up call from reception, lovely hotel and staff but sadly the worst nights sleep wish I had just gone for a standard room maybe would have been different

Convenient for travel and getting around. Stayed here before. Faulty power sockets that I reported to Reception. Staff always friendly and helpful.

I had recently arrived and went to shop , forgot to take room key and when asked the man at reception if he could tell me what my room number was his reply was ‘no’, I found this extremely rude and not helpful at all.

Decent place for a stop over, right next to railway station. Plenty of food options and shopping area is literally 5 mins walk. Sleep quality is okay, bathroom small and manageable, did not try the food. Easy check-in, checkout. No air-conditioning as it is supposed to be cold all the time but unfortunately felt the heat during the stay.

It was a wonderful hotel but my gripe is that after 9 o’clock in the evening there is nowhere around serving food.I found out from reception when I was leaving that you can order out and have food delivered to the bar. This would have saved me having to dodge drunks when I went to a chip shop and was slobbered over. Everything to do with the hotel itself was fine

Could not shut window because a screw had been put in at the base of sash. It was permanently open by about three inches and could not be closed. The extractor fan in the bathroom did not switch off always and on two occasions was running all night. I did bring it to there attention but it was not permanently cured and was still running when I left. Staff service apart from this was good breakfast was excellent but I would never stay there again.

Unfortunately the hotel is in need of a major update. The rooms were clean but walls were damp. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Right next to the station handy for the city centre plenty of eating facilities nearby and very lively in the evening nice bar and friendly staff would definitely stay there again

Very convenient for the railway station. Room was very clean and spacious. Only thing that let it down was the bathroom. Needs updating and the shower was poor.

good points... friendly staff at front reception to check in. brilliant location for us as right by the train station. bed was comfortable bad points... next to a taxi rank with fighting going on from early early hours and continuing for hours. not the cleanest hotel, generally a bit grubby, paint peeling, scuffed furniture, grubby carpet, mouldy looking bath mat. phoned down to reception to ask if I could pick up some coffee as only one sachet in the room, and to my horror on replacing the handset I saw a toenail in the phone! Hotel sent someone up to remove it and give the phone a spray of disinfectant. Totally grossed out by it though.

Very convenient for the city centre and public transport, especially rail. Nice breakfast.

The hotel is located just out the Railway Station Door. We were able to drop our bags, as we arrived earlier in the day. Convenient to see the Cathedral & Castle. Staff was very helpful, I take a medicine that must be refrigerated and they stored it for me. The real problem is the There is no A/C. Our room had the full afternoon sun and was over 80 degrees. They did provide a fan, but it was a sauna. We did go down to the lounge which was comfortable. This hotel did have an elevator, big plus with lots of luggage. Even with our windows open we did not hear the trains.

Rather shabby bedrooms, carpet old. Staff pleasant . Great location, next to train station.

Shower rail fell down off the wall when taking a shower reported it to reception

Stayed here and ‘upgraded’ to a suite. They have tried to update the room but a wardrobe and two lamps from ikea just aren’t cutting it. The hotel downstairs is fine, looks modern and the reception staff were efficient. On the way to our room there were several walls damaged with dampness and the carpet was threadbare on the stairs. Our ‘suite’ stank of mould and needed a good airing. We sprayed some perfume and deodorant and figured we were only using it to sleep and would make do. I went to use the avocado bathroom and noticed several silverfish beasties crawling around the bath. Managed to get to sleep only to be awoken at 3.30 firstly by the seagulls then there barriers from the station were collected whilst the lorry collecting reversed with the loud warning message. Then it was the bins outside being emptied so by this time it was 6am so we just got up got our things and left. Such a shame but serious money is needing spending to bring this hotel back to a standard

Hotel is very basic, hotel is situated next to train station and is mainly used by construction workers.

Bed not very comfortable for me but everything else perfect.

lift unreliable

Very friendly staff at reception checked me in and upgraded my room for free, which was a lovely surprise. The room was clean, and stocked with tea/coffee facilities and two (I've no idea why!) sets of body soap and shampoo/conditioner! I was only staying one night before travelling home by train the next morning, and I couldn't have asked for anything else from my stay.

Clean up to date reception and bar, however my room was very dated and indeed of some TLC. The ‘double bed’ is two rock hard, single beds pushed together with a sheet over the top, extremely uncomfortable. Staff are friendly and attentive, could do with some lessons on pouring Guinness though.

Staff were brilliant yet again, given early check in, breakfast was fine.

Central location right next to train station exit. Easy walking distance to all attractions. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff.
