A solid 4 star property very pleasant and accommodating.

Fabulous from start to finish. We had prepaid so check in and out were quick and easy. Staff were very helpful from reception to bar and restaurant staff. Breakfast was lovely as was the meal we had in the bar the night previous. Would highly recommend

The hotel itself was nice and the receptionist on arrival was lovely. The room had an awful musty smell, even with the window opened the whole time we were there, you could still smell it everytime we entered the room. The bathroom and bedroom were both clean but the musty smell was not good. We should of complained when there but the hotel had to be aware of the issue as the cleaners would of smelt it but we definitely wont be staying there again.

We love everything this hotel has to offer for our family. It has everything you need for an enjoyable family break. Beautiful location, great food and a lovely atmosphere. We were very happy with our stay. Never one to complain I wish the hotel would install new door stoppers to prevent the room doors closing so loudly, that’s the only negative issue we had. Constantly hearing doors closing so loudly is not what you want to hear while on a break. Overall a lovely hotel

The food in each of the days that I stayed was excellent. It was a nice break in a beautiful setting and I know that I will come back

stayed 3 nights, the Mulberry Restaurant offered a very good value set evening meal, using local ingredients at a reasonable cost. The grounds are extensive and worth exploring. Locally we went on the Castlebar Turlough Greenway and a visit to the national Museum for Country Life. Central location for exploring Mayo and Connemara.

This hotel is like in the movies, inside the rooms are very modern warm cozy with air-conditioning. Highly recommend. Swimming pool, gym, sauna available. All you want.

Rooms are quite large bathroom was extraordinary. The rooms were nicely appointed very nicely furnished, and kept up very well.

Really enjoyed our stay, room was excellent, bar food and breakfast good and staff very friendly. Would have no hesitation in booking again. Glad to see that their are some renovations happening as hotel is looking tired in a few areas but that would not put me off staying again. Hotel is a beautiful building in stunning grounds.

Stayed in Breaffy House for three nights as we were attending a show locally. The accomodation was wonderful and the Hotel was warm and welcoming. The staff were absolutely first class and nothing was too much trouble (Thanks Adrian). The food was great and the fish actually tasted like fish.

Alarming experience. The building looked beautiful. The grounds around it were beautiful. Staff were terrific. Food in the restaurant/bar was lovely. BUT - a fire alarm went off around 6pm on Saturday - false alarm and thought nothing of it. Unfortunately it went off again at 2.15am. Reception assured us it was a false alarm. Then it went off again 15 mins later and continued for about 10 mins. Everybody got dressed and left their rooms. Reception didn't/couldn't answer the phone. False alarm. Morning after staff advised it was a smoker from the wedding party the night before. Monday morning the alarm went off AGAIN at 6.30am. That was the last straw. We didn't stay our 3rd night, couldn't risk it. We're told this time it was actually a faulty alarm. Why wasn't this fixed the first time? My partner still has ringing in her ears and may need to seek medical advice if it continues. Disappointing weekend when it promised so much.

Stayed in the summer, ideal for families and wedding maybe not a hotel for a business stay Facilities on offer excellent for a holiday stay. food delicious and service first class just too busy and noisy

This was a truly horrific stay. A wedding reception was at the hotel that day and guests ran riot that night. For some insane reason management decided not to segregate wedding guests and my family was subjected to a night from hell. We literally got no sleep and despite repeatedly calling the porter and begging him to do something or call the police nothing changed. Young men running around corridors shouting and kicking doors, women screaming, loud music being played, fire alarms being set off, smoke filling the room and corridor, golf buggies being driven around outside the hotel at 4 am. I could list 101 other incidents. This went on all night until 7 am. The next morning the manager, a pathetic individual, said nothing could have been done to prevent this, nor for that matter, prevent a repeat in the future. He also blamed the police saying it was their fault for not coming to the hotel to sort out the offenders. He also said that drugs were involved! This is supposedly a family hotel. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels for work and recreational reasons but never experienced anything like this where I had to barricade the door of my bedroom for fear of what was going on outside the door. I was there with my wife and two small children and I was scared for their safety. We would have left in the middle of the night but we were terrified of what we would have encountered if we had tried to leave. The management and owners of this hotel should be ashamed of themselves.

It is a beautiful hotel, and we had a very relaxing stay. The staff were very helpful and courteous. We had only one issue with the steam room in the Thermal Suite which was not working properly.

Very average hotel experience. Overpriced for the level of service provided.

Absolutely perfect hotel. On a stunning hundreds of acres grounds, peaceful and close to Castlebar. Reminded me of staying in the Banff Springs hotel. Very clean and quiet rooms. Everything was great

Enjoy our weekend away at the Breaffy Hotel

Such an amazing hotel! We had a lovely 2 night stay with our two children. (Aged 9 & 7). Every member of staff we met was lovely- from the receptionist who checked us in to the friendly bar and waiting staff. I can’t not mention the lovely staff member (His name began with an L) at the pool who offered advice to our son on swimming techniques. He had so much patience with him and genuinely seemed to love his job! We went to the pool three times during our stay. The food was absolutely amazing! We had beautiful food in both the bar and the restaurant. I can’t wait to come stay again Bed was really comfortable and the children loved the bunk beds. Even the cushions were lovely!
