room had a musty wet carpet smell to it pool was nice but lots of highway noise

Great stay

The room was so damp that all my clothes came home wet and smelled of mildew. I had to wash the inside of my suitcase as well. The carpet in front of the A/C was wet. My sink was completely stopped up. I stayed post-Beryl and understand this plight but I’m not sure the hotel was ready and I question whether or not it was healthy for the the dozens of teachers that stayed there (for a math conference) and had similar or worse experiences. I’m so sorry for the city and its residents. The Holiday Inn express employees were so kind and helpful and did the best they could but it really was an abysmal stay. :(

2 story no elevator and dirty

It was right on the price and right on the location. Would definitely stay here again.

Very noisy. The guests could be heard in the hall talking, going in and out of rooms, slamming doors.

This BW is off a very busy interstate and the exit ramp from the freeway is under construction . . . . high speed exits as you are trying to turn onto a one lane feeder road. Almost was hit . . . .be very careful. The property was clean and quiet Wed and Thur but all that changed on Friday. Sat morning breakfast? A zoo. Kids walking around touching everything, no food in the fridge . . ran out of everything. It was just nasty. So? Stay here on a weekday. The weekend? A hard pass. The employees were super nice. Be careful if you go next door to eat. Last Friday night? They charged me twice for the same meal. Just finally received a credit a week later. What a hassle. Pay cash as no one seems to know what they are doing. The food was great? The help? Not so much. And steer clear of Texas Roadhouse. A 30 minute wait and it was like eating in a bowling alley. Noisy, crowded . . . . stressed out after that experience.

Terrible location as the interstate exit is right in front of the hotel and it is under construction. Take your life in your hands trying to turn into the parking lot or trying to get out. Horrible experience . . . . . people drive stupid fast . . . and just don't care. Stay on the back wall of the property . . no street noise. If you stay on the front or east side? You will hear the interstate I 35 your entire stay. A very busy road . . . the staff? Wonderful people. Ya just don't wanna go here or anywhere in San Marcos on the weekend. Maybe if you get away from the interstate. Lots and lots of road work and construction. It didn't help there was a tropical storm dropping buckets of water. The pool was out of commission my entire stay due to rain water.

The hotel is nice to stay, very clean, attentive staff. We had an issue with the room given and talked to the staff and they switched us right away. I would have appreciated the pool more clean of debris since it's out in the open. Other than that good.

It was very accessible, close to main road, good location. Very affordable, overall great!

Everything is very dated and worn. Towels were dirty with make-up from a prev guest I assume. Management of the guests was poor. Children running up and down halls playing at all hours. Adults yelling in the halls, slamming doors. Some people smoking marijuana on the premises. The smoke was flowing up to our room and smelled in the room. We did not even stay the 2nd night because of this.

Missing ceiling tiles throughout the first floor, Shower curtain was dirty and brown, Door key wasn't working half the time we put it in the door.

The hotel definitely need a renovation and it looks like maybe they're starting to do those? Even though it's an older hotel that needs updating and some repairs, it was clean. Staff was very friendly.

We are winter texans stayed here on our way home liked it so much we stayed in another location and plan to use Best Western for our travels.

Older property but well updated. No elevator for 2nd floor access. Clean and conveniently located. Liked the well lit parking areas, but parking space seemed limited.

Very worn out property. The breakfast appears not well prepared.

Property was pretty clean but all of the bedding and fixtures were old and musty. It is an older property that needs a fresh update. Also the motorcycles in the area were noisy. TV was worst I’ve ever had in a hotel.

Friendly staff

The rooms were not clean and I don’t like the no refund policy!

Dirty shower and the lobby is dingy. Printer didn't work.

Staff was rushing me and my family at 11 am the check out time was 11:30am.

This was my second time staying there, one thing called my attention: the staff, specifically the front desk, I really recommend to train them in matters of how reservation works in different applications, they asked me for my credit card to charge a deposit and I was told i would get it back if everything was okay with the room, but last time I stayed there they didn’t ask for one, so the staff members wouldn’t be able to explain to me what changed, or when I was gonna get the deposit back, I’m mean it is what it is, I totally get it, but still I highly suggest this customer service training.

Stayed for a college visit. The location is great for texas state. It’s a bit older property but clean.

The place is conveniently located and with easy access, it needs some updating and better cleaning specially in the common areas

The room was dated and musty (mildew smell) upon entering the lobby an overwhelming smell of ammonia from a recent mopping. No hot water in shower. Bathroom door would not lock. Breakfasts was the only great thing.
