As Miami locals who've admired the Clevelander's iconic party atmosphere for over 30 years, we were excited to finally book a room for two nights. Sadly, our experience fell short of expectations.
Breakfast Blues
Our breakfast, consisting of a croissant and coffee, required a block-long trek with my impairment of my knee and waiting in line. Not the start we had envisioned.
Restricted Access and Disrespect
Despite a sign at the counter claiming we had access to the entire building, we were denied entry to the pool. On the rooftop, where we were the only guests, security guard Joshua confronted us rudely for having two beers on the table. He accused us of intending to get drunk and even suggested we might jump off the roof. When we asked for a manager, Joshua made a call and then allowed us to stay until 11 pm, but no manager was available.
Miscommunication and False Promises
After going downstairs to speak with a manager, we were informed that no manager or supervisor was on duty. Head of security, Michael, explained the misunderstanding and said we could stay on the rooftop until whenever we wished. Went back to rooftop.Later, a staff member promised a bottle of wine would be sent to our room as an apology, but it never arrived before our checkout.
Final Thoughts
This experience was disheartening, to say the least. We hope the Clevelander addresses these issues to prevent future guests from facing similar disappointments.

The hotel itself was average, needs work. The bathrooms offer zero privacy, no ventilation, shower had rusty tiles, the faucets were hard to turn and it just felt unclean. The party area had way more hype than we actually experienced and the best part was being harassed by security in the lobby. I was actually approached and interrogated by a guard, even after providing him with my key card. He implied several times that I was a prostitute, awesome way to treat your hotel guests. Save your money check out The ocean front hotel very clean and great staff.

I didn't like the fact that on line you advertise a pool and you dont! Your guest(a paying guest staying at your hotel)should not have to be searched going to supposedly to your pool!

The beds were the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in. Slamming doors in the night and loud voices - BUT I half expected that so wasn't really bothered. The front desk staff were unique, quirky, sassy, and fun. We loved them all but the beds were horrible and the room was tiny. Good price to be in the center of Ocean Drive. Room smelled of cleaning products - I think it was coming through the AC vent

Ha d a wonderful stay manager Chris was helpful and made sure our stay get like home. Security guards really guarded and made sure we had a great time shout out to Patrick security was very kind and gave great information to great eats

When arrived they stated that Expedia had not received my reservation that I had already paid for so I had to pay for an additional night. I have not be able to get a refund from Expedia.
Has far as the Cleveland’s….the hotel is ok. It was clean. If you are there to party it’s a perfect place. However, overall the staff at the front desk are extremely rude. The exception was Christian and a night manager whose name I did not get.
The little blonde guy that works at the front was rude, and unprofessional.

Property was adequate for my needs. Bar and pool area way too loud at night. If you’re going to party than stay at this property if you need to be asleep at a reasonable hour this place is not suggested

The only thing I didn’t like was the pool being shortened and not drained on the non-swimming side. The water that was unused was getting algae and black mold in it.

As I was headed to the airport oak ca I found out my flight was canceled and not rebooked. I notified this hotel and booked another flight for the next day unfortunately my connecting flight was missed due to delays. When I called back I revieved no answer and when I finally did receive an answer I was told I no longer had reservations. I was the. Stranded in Miami Florida for 3 days no room it was awful and very disturbing to be treated in this matter

The rooms were a little too small for my liking but they were clean, modern and well kept. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful.
Anything I requested was brought to me promptly w a smile. I forget her name but there was an Asian front desk person, she’s amazing! The manager Chris is amazing as well. We had him cracking up w our shenanigans!

Very loud club music all afternoon and evening. I paid extra for king bed and bigger room. They didnt have it available when I checked in at 5:00. Said they were sold out so no other options.

I think the Property is in a great area, however it’s just outdated inside and old. I was there 10 years ago and it has not even had 1 change. I also did not like the fact that I could not even enjoy the outside patio because the prices were so outrageous. If you charge $30 per drink, use it for renovations. Also, how about giving perks to the people who stay there.

The faucet was not clamped down it was broken so I reported this. They did not attempt to fix it either. The AC did not work!!! Reported it 4X to staff. Same thing no attempt to fix it.
Went through overnight without AC. Next day as we were checking out the maintenance guy showed up. He tried to say the AC was working when I remarked “then why are you sweating?” Tech did not know what a working AC felt out from register. Try to say 73F out from the Register was OK. The hallway was cooler.
Desk said the best they can do is. It charge me resort fee. But they still did.
Bad hotel, would not stay here.

Only problem i had is the room. The shower was for a person in a wheelchair and shower itself had lukewarm water wish i had better room but other the that the staff was good and location was excellent definitely a party spot for sure

Our room was decent, but the bathroom was a bit awkward. It was basically a closet with the toilet right next to the sliding closet door. There wasn't much privacy, and it was strange having the toilet so close to the bed. Despite that, the hotel itself was pretty nice.

Woww this was a horrible experience- a cockroach was in the room - the staff never helps or did anything it was by far the worst experience I've ever had in my life- won't stay there again for nothing in this world.
