We loved the spacious room and super comfortable beds.

Nice accommodations, great location.

This was a nice hotel for the price. The room was clean with comfy bed and A/C. The bathroom had sliding door shower, which is kind of unusual, but worked out great. The hotel seems like it might be a few years older, but seems to have been well maintained. The free breakfast was above par (scrambled eggs, sausage, gravy, biscuits, waffle maker). There was quite a bit of construction in the area along with a pretty busy intersection, as the hotel is right off the freeway. We have stayed at a few hotels in San Marcos, because our daughter is attending Texas State, this is definitely one we will be staying at again. For the price, you can't beat it!

Nice staff

I’ve stayed here before and it’s fine. Our room this time smelled like soil - like dirt - so not “bad” per se but not fresh/clean either. The furniture is not in the best condition but it serves its purpose. The room and common areas are clean and the breakfast is excellent. Staff is welcoming and helpful. Security wise-I felt safe, but the side door from the parking lot is supposed to require room key access, however it doesn’t- it’s just open which is a security issue. It was also very humid and our room had a hard time keeping up - it was cool & the AC definitely worked, but it was not as cool as I would prefer.

The towels were in the bathroom. The sink and shower took a long time to drain.

The smell of a hotel is always very important because it is both its presentation and its image. Thanks.

Needed a bit of upkeep on paint, etc. Bathroom trim was rusted.

Room was clean but very dated and had a very strong mold smell. We it was coming from the air unit. Towels were stained. Bed was comfortable and linens were clean.

The street that leads to the property was floded.

I stayed there for 4 nights. The first morning I woke up, I had a bug on the bathroom floor. The front desk person told me she would have them spray the room and clean the whole room. I showed up that night, and non of it was done. The room was not cleaned. The next morning, I woke up to a bug in my bathtub. I told the front desk lady and she made excuses that they cleaned my room. I told her they did not. Then she said they must have just cleaned the bathroom and sprayed it for bugs. I told her my bathroom was not cleaned. She told the cleaning lady that was standing right next to her that it was not cleaned. She said she would clean it that day. When I returned to the room later that afternoon, the room was cleaned. However, I pulled the "clean" sheets on the bed down like I always do to check the bed's cleanliness, there was a small yellow dead bug on the "clean" sheets. The evening guy was nice enough to upgrade my room and put me in a cleaner room. He did not charge me extra for the larger room. I talked to the head person in the morning, and she was apologetic.

Nice comfortable stay, great beds!

Bathroom dirty. We didn’t get the room that we booked. Breakfast staff was friendly. But the front desk didn’t want to do anything unless they had to. That was their words not mine!

Hotel and outdoor area were clean and close to the university.

The hotel is well maintained and the staffs are nice and helpful. The area around the hotel is under construction so it's a bit dusty though. Apart from that, everything is good.

I would have given this property 1 star ( or zero if it was an option) had it not been for the excellent staff. They were super nice and friendly and tried to work with my family and I the best they could. To me, they were the only ones that salvaged my stay here at this hotel. This place was so old and outdated that it needs to be torn down and rebuilt. Ownership needs to put money back into this property and remodel/rebuild. The whole place stunk of mildew and old carpet. I feared for my life the few times I used the elevator, it rattled and shook and struggled, one time feeling like it hit something inside the elevator shaft when it was taking us up to our room. The bathroom door frame was so rusted that we had to close and open it slowly and carefully in fear of it falling out of the wall. The shower doors were busted that it took every bit of someone's strength to slide them shut and open. There was water damage scattered all over the ceiling and walls, one spot being directly over the bed. The air conditioner never really worked that well but it felt like it just stopped cooling altogether the last few days our our stay. The electronic door lock, the piece you slide your card into to unlock, kept malfunctioning that by the end of our trip, I probably had 15 different cards to turn back in from constantly going to down to the desk to get new ones just to let us in our room. All in all, we will not be staying there ever again.

The hotel was very busy and a little noisy when we went to bed but that didnt last long. We felt safe and the staff managed all the guests well.

Probably wouldn’t stay here again.
