Perfect place to relax

Food is average, beach has seaweed along seashore.

Amazing and caring staff. The breakfast was outstanding. The meals at the Green Jack Tar were reasonable and excellent. At the beach, I was NOT harassed by people selling their wares on the beach. Highly recommend!

The value for the beachfront property was incredible. Unfortunately the two drawbacks were the pool with lots of debris in it and the gym that was extemely lacking of good equipment.

Good

The staff is moderately friendly- that's it. Don't expect them to go out of their way to help you with much. This resort is like a Jr. High girl getting all dressed up to go to the High School. It needs new management and to begin an overall of the existing spaces. Two positives-- it's a short walk to the beach, and the food is quite good. I won't stay again.

Property was lovely. Very quiet. Beach clean. Pool beautiful and refreshing( couldn’t figure out the hot tub jets.) Everyone was very helpful,

Nice resort but the food price to expensive..

The furniture was too basic… a coffe table was missing.

We only stay for one day because the conditions of the room were very bad I can’t stay longer

The quality of the man power at the hotel, they were kind, competent and ready to help. I have stayed there before many times and I have never being disappointed

The location is great. I loved that it wasn’t an all-inclusive because I didn’t feel obligated to eat on-site, however, we had dinner on site every night and the food and service was excellent.

This establishment is false, the pictures are false and it’s under renovations and construction . It’s unfortunate cause will and the staff we met were terrific and so nice but the establishment and rooms and amenities itself is all a lie . The room looks like project based rooms unless you ask to be in a villa the first night the drains didn’t work and the floors were brown in the room I complained due to the second night my toliet was flooded and I had to move to a villa in the middle of the night . The villa was nice and comfortable the tv only in Spanish and there no Netflix , or other media , but the WiFi still didn’t work in the villa the WiFi never worked it was horrible . The staff were accommodating but I had to complain in order to get the right services. The pictures you see are the condos that people brought and you can rent them out sometime on air b n b. As well as when you look on Til Tom those are the condos. The swim up bar doesn’t exist is out of service and will never work . There no convention ac center you eat breakfast outside as a buffet and no center air there is a fan . Cabana are nice but need to be renovated. This entire hotel is under construction and the gym you have to make reservation, its in a Construction site and looks like a hole in the wall. Beside the fraud of the establishment the workers have been helpful and was very nice and welcoming . When I complain I witness things being clean and stuff being done but it shouldn’t take that !

Loved my stay

This is NOT a 4 star hotel, I repeat, NOT a 4 star hotel. If you are from the States this place feels more like a Motel. There is No lobby area, no bell boy service, the facilities are very dated and old; the rooms have different tones off lights in and out, plug in scent dispersers in the bedrooms which are toxic and give you a headache, you can hear the other guests, a tiny Westinghouse TV (24”) and the advertised patio view is to a chain link fence. Think before you reserve this hotel. Online pics are miss leading.

Construction noise

Great place on the beach. I bit dated but well maintained. The staff was great. The restaurant was solid. The beach area was perfect

There was a really loud party the night before we left. Louder than the music from the bar and lasted until after midnight. There should be a time restriction after 11 pm regarding noise.

From check in to check out it was as a great experience. The beach is beautiful. Food and drinks were great. The place is clean and comfortable. This is the third time my husband and I stay here and we will definitely return.

The place looks abandoned as you enter the property.

Creat customer service

The Blue Jack Tar resort is well past its prime. The grounds are dated and dirty. Significant upgrades are needed to make the resort up to standard. Virtually all of the staff only speak Spanish, and will ignore anything you attempt to ask them. The overall safety of the facility is questionable at best. We felt in danger on occasion. This is not a report that we would stay in again.

The bed, the sheets, the pillows, it's sad how worn they are, they shouldn't have that for a guest.

The jacuzzi and coffee pot in the room didn’t work. The staff was nice and provided extra water free of charge. Restaurant on site is good. Only stayed one night, would choose somewhere else in Puerto Plata next time. Playa Dorada seemed run down. Breakfast was included and that was good.
