Everything was great except our AC in our room was not working properly. They had someone come to fix it but it still wasn’t gettin cold. They would not accommodate us by letting us have a new room. As hot as it was there, there’s nothing as bad as waking up in the morning thirsty and sweating because you’re hot. That was the most horrible thing on the trip. They should have let us have a new room with working AC. Very disappointed. Other than that it was fine

1st the room was I stayed I didn't feel safe the door was cracked in half and the i was all the way at the end of the hallway! They couldn't replace the door

I recently stayed at Viva Maya by Wyndham, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. The hotel itself is small and outdated, with rooms that had an unpleasant smell. The buffet menu remained the same every day, and the food quality was mediocre at best. I was also disappointed by the lack of drinking water in the rooms. Unlike other hotels I have visited, this one does not provide bottled water or soft drinks in the room fridge, which was quite inconvenient. Moreover, the seaweed on the beach really dampened the overall experience. While I understand that they cannot control the ocean, maintaining a clean beach is essential, and this was not the case during my stay. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel and I do not plan on returning.

We enjoyed our stay. The property is small enough to walk everywhere and it has all the amenities. Not all people follow the no smoking rule and our neighbour was smoking in her room and the smoke was getting into our room. Other than that, no complaints. The food at the buffet is great, the food in the restaurants needs to be better. Very good drinks, not so good coffee, but better cappuccinos. The beach is great with palm trees and hammocks. Some seaweed floating. Great view of the sea. Lots of things to do. Great tours!!! Lots of entertainment for kids and adults. Staff is very friendly. We would come back again.

Excellent resort located right on the beach. It's very compact so everything (pool, beach, buffet, restaurants, lobby, etc) can be reached in a minute or two regardless of which building you'll get. We had a week of fantastic time with my wife and our daughter here in July 2024! Thanks Viva Maya!

The resort is quiet and relaxing. It's inside the gated Playacar neighborhood, so we felt safe going off property to explore a bit. My room was directly across from the adult pool which was amazing and my room actually had a private mini pool in the patio. That was amazing.

Good place but need to improve customer service. There were some remodeling around and there were always noise.

The property needs to work on rooms climate. Excessive humidity inside rooms make all my family ill. All other areas in the hotel are ok.

I spent my 5 days fixing toilet water valve. Everyday was going to be fixed but when I returned to the room nothing. Definitely member attention was not a priority. Other than that I would say it was pretty good.

Renato from the front desk is rude. If your not a member they treat you differently. On the other hand Antonio from the pool bar area he was awesome good customer service

The ocean is beautiful

We enjoyed our stay at Viva Maya. We had a deluxe room in building 3300, which was nice and comfortable. We appreciated the daily cleaning service and fresh towels. We took part in various resort sports activities such as archery, windsurfing, catamaran sailing, and the trapeze. Thank you, Juan, and the whole team. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. However, it would be nice to have more food choices available. Overall, we are pretty happy with our stay.

The resort is older and the rooms need some updates. Plenty of food options but everything is tasteless. The staff was overall nice. I would not return to this resort.

In room: tv had no high def. & only 4 channels. In bathroom: No hair conditioner, shampoo is terrible, no lotion for body. Dinner no air conditioner and one major fact, FOOD did not show what it contains for allergy purposes. No service out by the pool or by the beach. For this property being a resort, it leaves a lot to be desired.

This was our second time there. We had an issue with the AC in the room, within an hour a maintenance man was there. The food was awesome. We really enjoy this resort and will come back. I'll let ya'll in on a secrect. There is a sports bar above the lounge. It was always dead with AC and they serve Heineken.

It is an amazing resort with friendly staff. The activities planned every day were good and fun to participate in. The food buffet is very well and variable. I loved the trapeze show and Dani was amazing!

**Terrible Experience at Viva Maya Wyndham- Avoid at All Costs!** I recently stayed at Viva Maya Wyndham and was extremely disappointed with my experience. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this so-called "all-inclusive" hotel did not live up to its promises. Firstly, there was no hot water throughout my stay, making showers an unpleasant ordeal. To make matters worse, the air conditioning was malfunctioning, leaving the room uncomfortably hot. One night, there was a complete power outage, and the hotel staff offered no assistance or apologies. Speaking of the staff, they were consistently rude and unhelpful. Any request for assistance was met with hostility and indifference, which added to the overall frustration of the stay. Additionally, the shower drain was clogged, causing water to back up and create an unhygienic situation. Despite multiple complaints, this issue was never addressed. Overall, my experience at Viva Maya Wyndham was awful. The lack of basic amenities, poor customer service, and numerous maintenance issues make it clear that this hotel is not worth your time or money. I strongly advise looking elsewhere for accommodation.
