Beautiful with elegance flare. I’m completely satisfied and with desire to return on my next trip to Asturias.

The property is my favorite and it’s in perfect shape. People are also lovely. This level if hotel should have a basic room service from the restaurant. The toilet paper could be softer. Otherwise, I plan to stay here again since it’s a wonderful place to stay.

Location to the Lady of Covadonga is next door, very convenient. Light breakfast, but good restaurant for dinner

Very nice!!.. clean and the dinning was superb!!!.. the hamburguer there is the best hamburguer that I have tasted in 59 years of my life!

All was good but property requires an update of carpet, bedding, curtains, and restrooms.

The access by car is not clear perhaps for problems with gps with bad connection for mountains. Be carefull

Staff very friendly and professional

It’s a very nice hotel, except the Internet they advertise barely works. I explain the lady at the front desk that I needed to leave a day early so I could finish my paperwork online required by the airline because the Internet did not work. She replied that she could not discount the last day because it would affect her commission, obviously that was more important to her than fairness or a customer care. On top of that my order #917763-6791890 with hotels.com was for $265.72 including taxes and fees. The hotel charge me $306.00 I asked them to look for my hotels.com order and she replied that my order had come in through Expedia. I will not stay at that hotel again and I will tell everyone I know about my terrible experience.

We had a free upgrade to mountain view room. Breakfast was good, served to table.

Hotel clasico con cxierto aire de grandeza. Habitaciones grandes y cama comoda, en un entorno epectacular. El desayuno es bastnate bueno, y el menu de cena es epsctacular y con muy buen calidad / precio, con servicio clasico. Aspectos algo negativos: Muy poco aparcamiento y muy esrecho, me toco ir a aparcar detras de la basilica, y ausencia de ayuda con las maletas y espera en recepcion (son majisimos pero estan desbordados)

Fantastic location. The team working there is great, believe me, this comes from someone who has worked in the front desk myself. Goes across the team (reception, restaurant, housekeeping), very good staff. Now the hotel itself is nice but to some degree you notice that they have hard time catching up with maintenance. Looks like they have renovated some things but then some other things are starting to fall apart, it is a mixed feeling. On one hand you have nice wooden furniture and carpet floors in some rooms, high ceiling, more or less fine bathrooms, but then some bits and pieces stick out that simply are falling apart, not critical but it kind of underlines the age of the building. But overall dont let that keep you away, really. Again I am saying bcs I am the first one to look for new hotels usually, however we extended our stay in this one one day more that initially planned. Food - the dinner was excellent, not gonna elaborate, just was very tasty. The breakfast was ok-ish, considering that in Asturias we have had better ones in a 3 star hotels. I think they could do better if they wanted. Again, not like it was a bad breakfast but simply in comparison of what we experienced in other hotels. Back to location - this is specially excellent if you want to go to the lakes of Covadonga in your OWN car, because they let you on the road only before 8.30am, otherwise you need to take a bus or taxi. this is one of the closest hotels next to the road entrance.

Great place, staff is pleasant but Hotel needs maintenance and a better breakfast. Also bar was not open and as the place is far away from other locations this was not nice. Dinner was ok

I booked a special offer and got two nights of what must be way under value. The room and bathroom were spacious, clean and comfy. Little fridge was handy. However the biggest surprise was the dinner. I chose the dinner menu and was gobsmacked. 3 delicious courses for a mere 19 EUR including an entire bottle of wine and a bottle of water. Elsewhere you would have paid triple the amount for this kind of service and quality.

Comfortable hotel but lighting poor in the bathroom. We could smell fish all the time we were there, which may have been because we were at the back of the hotel. To be fair, we got a good rate. We were unable to get lunch in the hotel on Sunday as it was full and it would be nice to think as a resident, one could have eaten there. Overall though, can't really complain about the value.

Terrible!. 3 elderly were sent to rooms under the roof structure with no windows!. Restaurant refused to serve them dinner alleging no reservation was made when nobody informed at check in of the need to reserve. Elder people who had to take medicines with food. In the end dinner was served in their rooms!. Never coming back!.

The hotel's location is ideal for visiting Covadonga. Covadonga is ideal for visiting Picos de Europa. The hotel is renovated and the staff was welcoming. The rooms are traditional, but recently renovated so it makes the experience very comforting. We had breakfast included with our stay and that was very pleasing in the restaurant setting that you can see the Basilica. I would recommend that you have dinner outside of the property as there are nearby restaurants that may have a better meal.

Cathedral and cave next door. Beautiful sight. Entrance to lakes 3 minutes away. Very nice sorprice.

A Grand Hotel a bit old. Great location. Great staff. Big rooms. Needs renovation & improve cleaning. I would return.

The location is wonderful, the building is nice and the food is good and very good value for money.One of the receptionists prefers the phone to the customers, but all the other staff are wonderful and very kind.For a four star hotel it is surprising that the bar is mostly closed and there are not many amenitiesBut you wont get such a nice place for so little money anywhere

My room was on the fourth floor attic with only sky windows. Also the elevator only goes to the third floor. The service was very friendly and parking relatively easy to find. Both dinner and breakfast of good quality and reasonable pricing. Plan your time ahead because breakfast only starts at 8:30 AM and dinner from 8:30 PM. If you plan to visit the Covadonga lakes, you need to get to the bus before the lines get too long. If you plan on driving to Puente Poncebos for Bulnes or one of the hikes, be there early or you won't find parking. Relax and enjoy the Picos!

Great hotel at an exceptional location. Because we were three we booked a junior suite which has two rooms with two bathrooms and a living room where an espresso machine was our salvation. The best of the room are the views from every window, you could see the entire Basilica and the entrance of the cave from your room. Breakfast buffet was really good with variety and quality. The proximity to the lakes allow you to wake up early and visit them before the entrance is closed (Summer time). I really recommend Gran Pelayo Hotel.

it Is a budget property, very clean, comfortable beds, etc The staff is wonderful, and the food at the restaurant is great. There is a waiter there that works at lunch and at dinner named Andres who is a WOW personality...knows exactly what to order or not to order, food and wine.

On checking out the reception actually tried over charging us for a "an additional breakfast." The toaster would burn toast rather than eject it; the coffe machine had a life of its own. I expected more from a four star hotel situated in such refined secular situation. Clearly, the hotel feels it has in some way transcended or circumvented the need to provide good service or even piety. In times long past this hotel must have been a jewel of hospitality and refinement. Unfortunately, now, there are two and three star hotels less than one or two kilometers away that our surpass the hotel and all it has to offer for much less and with far less conceitedness, except the proximity to the holy shrine. Think carefully before you are overcome by the setting and grandiose architectures. better alternatives abound and they are only too happy to go that extra kilometer to assist you in anyway they can. Alternatively, you can pay top dollar and haul your own luggage up to the fourth floor, watch your toast burn and drink Luke-warm coffee that resembles dish water and be asked to pay for more than you have actually consumed. I consider myself optimistic and overly patient, however this hotel deserves to be independently inspected and if found failing downgraded.p: it is undeserving of its four star rank and flagrantly misleads pilgrims and traveler alike out of their hard earned money. And all this in such proximity of a convent and burial place of the first King of Asturias.
