This is a great place to stay!! The staff are amazing and work very hard to make everything perfect. Excellent service!!

As others have mentioned, it's no longer a 5 star hotel, but a solid 4 to 4.5. The rooms were large and having a balcony for our two shared rooms was nice to relax on in the evening as we didn't have a water view. The breakfast was nice and my children enjoyed the spa services. We mostly had the pool to ourselves and there was plenty of area to spread out and enjoy. We didn't use the thermal pool, but was mostly used by older guests. There is a wonderful restaurant across the street, but disregard judging the book by its cover. The water view is excellent. It's a long walk to the port, but only 15 euros by taxi when we used it. The walk through town is full of restaurants and shops, so it's worth it. Another 15 minute walk to the castle. People were nice, but the english there was not the best so brush up on your Italian.

Quaint and charming hotel. Our room dod not have a balcony or a view of the ocean. The room was small and the bed was VERY hard, made our bones ache. Service is fantastic, they go out of their way to accommodate every request.

Amazing hotel with amazing service!

I've never been so mislead by Hotels.com in my 15 years using the app. This hotel is rated at 5 stars and in all honesty, would struggle to get even a 3. The reviews are 9 out of 10 but I don't understand it at all. I just got done with a 2 week vacation in Italy and stayed in 12 hotels. This was the highest rated and most expensive (454/n) but was the least favorite of the bunch. The only positives was the water pressure, check-in was quick, and the front desk was helpful once you were there in front of them.

This hotel is a great choice for a relaxing stay on Ischia if you still want to be close to a lot of restaurants, shopping, and Ischia Porto. The beach access was very convenient, across the street, but the hotel was very quiet despite this prime location. The spa is wonderful and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Very delicious breakfast!

Sorry but this place is not 5 stars. Very out dated. And very pricey for what it is. Staff are nice.

Great place to stay

We booked in to Mare Blu but for some reason they switched us to the sister hotel across the road, Miramare e Castello for the same price, which I think is a more expensive hotel. We had booked a room with sea view and balcony, and it was fantastic. The position of both hotels is fantastic and we definitely would return

Everything about our stay at Hotel Mare Blu was excellent. The staff was so helpful & professional. The hotel was within walking distance of shops & the castle. And the concierge made recommendations for places to eat & explore. Our ferry back to Naples was late in the day, after check out, the staff was so accommodating and kept our bags safe & allowed us to use the facilities & shower before we needed to leave. The breakfast was amazing. Such an abundance of choices & all was delicious. We will definitely be going back.

The hotel was perfectly situated opposite the beach and near to the Castle and easy to walk to the shops along to the Port and the castle, with lots of lovely restaurants. The pool areas are very peaceful and green with a great spa and 2 pools. Great family room overlooking the poo with a balcony and lovely service. Enjoyed the breakfasts and would stay again as very tranquil.

Great location, fantastic service, rooms were a little dated but the pool and the services available (inc. sister hotel) made up for that.

We really liked this hotel. We had an upgraded room, number 236, with a patio overlooking the sea and Castillo Aragonese. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Luigi at the bar was awesome and accommodated all of our special requests. We can’t wait to visit again!

Besides the location of this hotel everything else was a let down. First the people who work the front desk are miserable, they can’t wait to tell you no about something. After checking in I was informed they they only offer air conditioning some times of the year and now wasn’t one. The guys suggestion was to leave the door open to let in a breeze. Great idea I woke up with bugs in my room and mosquito bites. Next I go to lunch across the street and wrapped up half a pizza. When trying to bring it back to my room the people at the front desk tell me no food. Now let me tell you I am 6.5 months pregnant that pizza could have been everything in about a hour but unfortunately I had to throw it out. Next I ask for a iron to iron one of my T-shirts. They then inform me I am not allowed a iron in the room, and can only use they’re laundry service in the morning. This whole experience was a nightmare. The staff here should get a lesson in customer service and how to say hello when someone enters the hotel. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Great location, huge room and balcony with an amazing view of the city and castle

Mare Blue was just beautiful!We had a ocean view room with balcony , and waking up to see the beautiful Castello Aragonese was enchanting. Our room was super spacious and very very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was....... wow what a spread. I think we gained 5 pounds only with that lol lol.The attention that the servers give you is excellent. Most important of all, Roberta one of the concierge, was always so kind and helpful, and such a lovely person. The only thing I would suggest is an american coffee pot in the room :) I would definitely recommend Hotel Mare Blue and hope to return soon.

The perfect place to stay in Ischia. Nice people and beautiful properties. You get to use facilities at their adjacent sister hotel as well. This place is a gem!

This is the second time we have stayed at hotel Mare Blu and it is wonderful. The view from the terrace is spectacular, the staff are extremely warm and friendly , and they all made an effort to converse in English in this predominantly Italian gem of a place. We love it here!

It’s quite unique with the three separate pool areas as well as the beach. This is a wonderful place to stay. Had a room with a terrace and the view was absolutely stunning!!

My wife and youngest son stayed at the Mare Blu about 3 years ago and had a wonderful time. My wife was determined that I should go back with her to the Mare Blu. We finally got ourselves organised for the return this September. Our stay was everything she said it was going to be.The hotel was spotless and the staff were very attentive and helpful.The night porter even made us a cappuccino before we left the hotel at 6.30 am! The hotel's location is ideal with the beach right opposite the front of the hotel.Being able to use the sister hotel's facilities was an extra bonus. The island of Ischia is a beautiful and romantic location. I am already looking at booking a return to the Mare Blu For next year!
