Great Location, with ferries, buses, shops and restaurants at your door step. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a balcony room overlooking the water which was amazing from the sun setting to the sunrise, absolutely breathtaking. There are stairs to get to the hotel reception but once there you have a choice of using the lift. Realistically, you don’t go up and down them that often as you are out most of the day sightseeing.

Fantastic stay at Hotel Fontana - the location alone is perfect overlooking the square, the hotel is authentic and rustic but has everything you need, breakfast choices are plenty. The hotel do advise about the stairs prior to arrival so this wasn’t a problem for us.

Great location, within a few minute walk to ferry, bus, and taxi transportation. Breakfast was simple but good, snd the staff were very accommodating with luggage storage and providing area information when needed.

The people who run this hotel are so charming and modest. They gave us a suite with a balcony the size of a Manhattan studio apartment. It was a lovely hotel, not fancy, but in the middle of everything, convenient to all

Great central location, close to ferry and bus, good breakfast with hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, breads. Clean room. Very friendly staff. Shower didn’t drain in “Fontana” quadruple room and they didn’t fix even though informed after first night of three night stay.

Excellent location and for that alone it makes it worth it! I have stayed several times and the staff is excellent and it’s always clean. Breakfast included which is also nice perk. Beds a a bit too hard and the showers are small but this is Italy so that is pretty much every single hotel. I love this hotel and will stay again.

Very good location. Great deal for the price. Was a little loud because the rooms are so close to the lobby and the space is a little tight.

Great location. Had complementary breakfast in the morning with many options that all tasted great. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The bed was a little firm for my liking but other than that everything was great.

While the location is ideal near the ferry the bess were disguising- there were blood stains on the sheets and what looked like stained vomit. Reception was not very helpful. Not able to sleep. Very disappointing stay and poor value for price.

We loved the location as it was just steps from the beautiful cathedral. Lots of dining options and cute shops. Parking as usual was difficult. No elevator from the ground level to get to the lobby so carrying our bags was difficult even though we were Traveling light. The hotel is very old and never been remodeled. The balcony felt unsafe to stand on!

Staff was unfriendly from time of check in to service at the bar. Rooms are very warm and uncomfortable. Hotel restaurant is good, not great. For the price I was highly disappointed. Would not recommend and will not stay there again.

This is about as central to Amalfi as you can get. Breakfast was doable and appreciated. We booked this hotel for 2 reasons only and were not disappointed. Location and an ocean view room.

We only stayed one night but wish it would've been more. The large windows that open to a balcony, the amazing breakfast and the smell of ocean air in the morning. This place was beautiful and had so many qualities i look forward to hopefully staying again some day.

Location is excellent for this hotel. Right at the start of town by the church and only a few minutes walk to the ferry. Room is smaller which is normal for European hotels. Be prepared to carry your luggage up some steep steps to get to the lobby. Our remote for the air conditioning was not working when we arrived in the room but reception quickly took care of it. Housekeeping was very good. Only had the breakfast on one day but they are very organized with it. A pleasant stay.

You are right in the town square which is great for most things such as shopping, restaurants, etc. But it is extremely noisy. If you can sleep with loud noise throughout the entire night, it is a great option. If you need some quiet, may not be a good fit.

We had a very nice stay at Hotel Fontana. Used the valet service for parking since parking is very hard to find when the weather was so nice! Hotel staff were very helpful. Clean room.

Our room was very spacious and had a huge terrace overlooking Amalfi's transportation hub, which means we were able to hear all the buses and cars coming in and out. Another concern was there were a dozen huge steps to reach the entrance of the hotel, so carrying heavy luggage is a pain. Staff was nice enough and breakfast was decent
