Room wasn’t ready, as 3rd person bed wasn’t made.
They forgot to contact parking so we got stuck in car elevator for 20min. Elevator doors being opened manually.
They had issue with bad batch coffee in the morning breakfast.
Even with do not disturb sign, they enter the room.
Checking out I asked to see manager, since there wasn’t any. Asked to be called. No one called.
Sent an email using hotel.com it’s been 5 days still nothing.
I don’t recommend.

Superb historical location at the edge of old town. Perfect for a 3-4 day stay when visiting Lyon 1st time. Historic building means there are certain physical limitations but they did a great job with decors & renos. I rate it 4.25 stars by international hotel standards. Showers can be cleaner. Stairways outside can smell due to historical layout. Parking is a bit of a pain if you are not used to cramped euro-style & not in same building.

We were there just one night as an overnight trip from our stay in Paris. The hotel was close to a lot of restaurants and things to do. The staff was super friendly and the hotel had a lot of unique character. I would stay there again for sure.

We had a huge (family) room here which suited us well. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom facilities were spacious and the furniture more than functional. A small fridge would have been nice. There is a good elevator but you’ll likely still have some stairs to climb up or down to your room. Location was excellent. Walking distance to everywhere! Close to Terreaux. Bus system was great and very close for reaching more distant areas if the city.

Awfull choice.Small room without eindows. Air conditioning not working ( guedts with doors open to the corridors due to heat )
I checked out very early ( 6:30 am) in spite of that the lady at the reception was chasing me in the street to charge for the breakfast I did not have

Walkable neighborhood yet service and quality were underwhelming. It is still warm in Lyon in September, yet no air conditioning. Why would you need heat when it is 22c. Don’t stay here if you have allergies. It is very dusty.

L'Academie Hotel is a jewel hotel in Old Lyon!! Wow!! Wow!! Wow!! The perfect location, the friendly stuff, the history of the building, the beauty of their rooms...
Our room was one of the most beautiful rooms we have ever stayed in Europe!!. When you enter the hotel you will be transported to living in Old Lyon, but you also be surprised with their modern & chic decor. Thank you L'Academie Hotel for one of the best stays in Europe!! We will always remember our stay in beautiful Lyon!!

There is a dud room at the hotel that we got. Shower didn't drain and room had no windows. Staff arranged a room swap at the Sister hotel across the street that was fine. So all in great stay.

It was unique, clean, and very comfortable. The two bathrooms and large space in the suite was appreciated for 3 people. The service we received from the hotel staff was wonderful - it was friendly, helpful, and professional.

We were very happy with our stay at L’Académie Hôtel in Lyon. The room is small, as is often the case in Europe, but updated, clean and pleasant. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the old town with many things in walking distance. I would definitely stay here again. I would especially like to praise Vasselina (I hope the spelling is right), a sweet, helpful, attentive young lady who works at the front desk and helped us tremendously.

Lovely hotel on edge of Vieux Lyon. Incredibly close to sights, great bars and restaurants.
We had a wonderful room - incredibly comfortable bed, well laid out and large.

This place is located right at the entrance to the old town. So many places to eat and shop right outside the door. Beautiful building and rooms. Would stay again. The staff was wonderful.

This property location is right in the heart of Old Lyon staff spoken English and was very helpful. The room was extremely small and priced accordingly it was clean had a real shower and great A/C. Parking was in a garage. Directly across the street A small car is a must! As car rides an elevator. Best option I found in old town

We were put in the accessible room on the ground floor (we didn’t book this type of room), this room had no windows and the air conditioning was switched off. Reception said AC would be on later in the year. The room was boiling. The bathroom was a wet room that didn’t drain properly, so whole room was wet. It was also not possible to turn on the bathroom light without lighting up the bedroom with several spotlights.
We raised our concerns with reception after the first night and were initially ignored. Later that day reception asked to see the room and agreed there were issues. We moved to sister hotel (as no other rooms were available) , which was ok but a much cheaper hotel (no refund of the difference or apology offered, as yet).
The building was nice, but that room was not.

This hotel was quite cheap, and you get what you pay for. Good aspects - good location, good shower, room clean. However entry is via a side passage which, although clean, is poorly maintained, and the spiral staircase to the rooms needs maintenance eg walls need painting and flooring needs replacing. Room (114) is basic with uneven flooring and no view from the window. Breakfast was available at a neighbouring hotel - and I really didn't want to have to put on coat, hat and gloves to go to breakfast on a cold winter morning. Wifi was available but I got a warning message on my phone to disconnect due to suspicious activity, and my computer wouldn't connect at all - not ideal when I had come for a business meeting and had work to do. The Expedia site is confusing about hours when reception is open and when it is necessary to go to neighbouring hotel.

This hotel is perfectly adequate. You're in the heart of the historic quarter and close to plenty of transportation. You also are in historic buildings which makes the experience feel pretty authentic. The room I had was pretty small but it was fine for me alone. There is no AC but that wasn't a problem for me but it may be an issue for someone else. My room was street side and so it was very noisy at night since there are bars and restaurants right next door.

Superb location in the heart of old Lyon. The room would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues as it can be reached only by a narrow winding stair. The room is tiny but entirely adequate. It’s very quiet and conducive to a good night’s sleep. Generous, delicious breakfast is served at the sister hotel just across the street. The hotel is perhaps 10 minutes walk from the Cathedral metro station. I’d go back.
