Lovely stay!

Beautiful corner room with a view.

Staff are outstanding- professional, helpful, attentive. Breakfast is vast and fresh including something for everyone’s tastes. Decor is well maintained and the place is maintained to royal standards. Their spritzes were the best I had around Venice. AC works very well. Would. It be a hotel for small children - not bc unfriendly, but is more upscale and quiet.

My second stay at La Calcina was like my first some two years ago. It was a complete hotel experience with friendly, super-polite and considerate staff; tasteful interiors, comfortable beds. The location on Venice’s Zattere is unbeatable, free from crowds and offering beautiful vistas. The included breakfast was delicious and wholesome. A beautiful time at a beautiful place.

Staying at La Calcina was a delight from start to finish. We were greeted by Samuel, who made check-in very easy and welcomed us with a much appreciated Rossini. He continued to be very friendly and engaging throughout our stay. The whole reception team were a pleasure to deal with.
The staff in the restaurant were also a real credit to the hotel. Vera , Mary and all the waiting staff were delightful and provided excellent service. We dined on the restaurant terrace three times and had excellent service each time, including a very busy service on the night of the Redentore fireworks.
Our room was beautiful. It felt very Venetian. We had amazing views across the Giudecca and were able to watch the fascinating activity on the water.
The hotel is in a brilliant location. The journey from the airport was straightforward and quick. You are very close to Zattere water bus stops, making getting around very easy.It has a stunning position on the waterfront and feels away from the usual tourist hustle. However, it is a short, direct walk to Accademia Bridge, so you are close to the centre.
Overall , it was the perfect place to stay and we can't wait to come back.

Staff were great, we moved rooms and nothing was too much trouble !
Convenient setting and close to most of the areas of interest !

Very well managed up-market small hotel. Pleasant tasteful decor. Quiet atmosphere. Excellent breakfast service. Exceptional staff: they clearly enjoyed taking care of the guests. I suspect that the only reason the hotel doesn’t have 5 stars is because it doesn’t have an elevator. This is not a problem as luggage is taken to and from guest rooms by helpful staff.

Charming hotel in Venice overlooking the Grand Canal. The staff is fantastic, very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. The rooms are charming, comfortable, with all the modern amenities. The breakfast provided was a great way to start the day. You could walk to a couple blocks and use the bridge to get to San Marco or a couple hundred feet away catch one of the water buses.

Lovely hotel. Close to transportation and quiet location. Good breakfast and comfortable room.

Friendly and helpful staff, walkable location and near a Vaporetto stop. Breakfast options were plentiful.

As a last minute find, this place is brilliant. The staff are really friendly and welcoming, it has great connections to the centre and a walkable distance from most iconic places in Venice. There is also an easy transport connection. Number 2 will take you on the scenic route if you have time or one stop across the canal to the southern part with some local restaurants. The area is less crowded but still really close and there is a stop just outside, which will take you directly to the airport. Overall we are really pleased with our choice for the two night stay, the breakfast, the rooftop terrace and for Concierge suggestions on places to visit. Grazie!

This was the perfect location- on the water out of the busy tourist area but an easy walk to everything. Loved the views from the roof deck. All the staff were friendly and helpful from reserving a water taxi from the airport, making dinner reservations, answering our many questions, taking luggage to our room to storing our bags on the day we left. We want to mention Lorella at the front desk and Kowsa (not sure how to spell his name) at meals. We were very well cared for.
5.0
Professional and very kind staff. Location is ideal because directly on the water and not overrun by tourists. Nice property with high attention on guests.

Very nice Hotel especilally the panoramic room. Notice that the rooftop could be used and provide an awful view.

Amazing venue, historical with a literary tradition. The rooms have AC. We had a corner room, so we had a view on 2 canals, which was incredibly beautiful! The staff is multilingual, very competent, reliable and extremely friendly. The private garden is lovely, and the breakfast was delicious. A great find !

Not the best stay. Call it bad luck. Door key broke in the lock, no second key. No hot water first day. Second day it was luke warm. We-go didn’t work. Breakfast was so so. staff were friendly but if you don’t want to worry or think about anything we would suggest looking elsewhere. We payed full price for our three days but left for the last two days and took the hit, but we’re glad we pulled the shoot.

We had the best time in the hotel. Location is wonderful, quiet and close to everything. Staff was amazing and very helpful. Our room was big and very clean with beautiful view from the canal. Excellent value for your money with great breakfast.
3.0
The location is good. The service was wonderful, kind and helpful. Where I was aware that I had selected a room with a twin bed, I had thought that the bathroom would also be in the room and not across the hallway. Guessing the hotel is refinishing things room by room. My private bathroom was literally all 3 fixtures :sink shower toilet all overlapping each other. Use your imagination. It was, however very clean but wasn’t at all comfortable. The room, was sweet and had some antique charm but, honestly, the time it took to literally tack the aged border to the wall, they could have painted the room, it would have been better. It was a surreal experience, but the staff were very nice. The breakfast was good.

The location of the hotel is great and staff were really friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and well decorated but were quite small but probably typical for Venice! The restaurant served some lovely food and the breakfast buffet was well stocked. Would certainly recommend.

Stunning hotel in an amazing location. We stayed in the top floor room which has views from 3 different sides and was worthy of a 5* hotel. Top quality breakfast included and every member of staff we encountered were so helpful and professional.

Great customer service from staff. Had a single room, which was small but that was expected. Great location. What really made my stay great, was the brilliant customer service.

We had the best views in the tower room. Triple aspect. The bathroom had a lovely balcony. Most bathrooms are internal.

We had an enjoyable and comfortable stay at this elegant historic hotel. The staff was unfailingly helpful and pleasant . Thanks to Lorella and the rest of the team for help with restaurant recommendations and bookings and walking directions. ( no mean feat in Venice). The simple breakfast was of high quality with good coffee. Comfy beds, plenty hot water and spacious simple unpretentious rooms. Mine had a bath which I enjoyed. Minutes from the Accademia and Peggy Guggenheim galleries with an easy route to the Rialto. We hope to return. Grazie!

Very nice hotel. Room very comfortable. Bathroom was very nice, great views (we were on the top floor). Reception staff were excellent and very helpful. The restaurant staff (breakfast and dinner) however were quite unfriendly, unhelpful and disorganised which was disappointing given that all other aspects of the hotel were quite pleasant.
5.0
Great location, not in the center of tourist attractions. Vaporetto-stop close, also walking distance to most places. Great service, especially concierge Samuel. Would definitely visit again.

Wonderful hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff. And a fantastic location. Highly recommended.

Amazing stay there, great view and outstanding room
Good to know:
The bed was a king size with 2 mattresses which makes it a bit uncomfortable at the junction
The staff is extremely helpful (except one night receptionist that almost feel us not welcome)
Location is a bit outside the buzzing site, however seconds away from the vaporetto!

Fantastic hotel. The view from our room was to die for. So much history. All staff members were super nice and attentive to details. Excellent breakfast. Perfect location, we were able to walk everywhere, water bus stop just next door. Just excellent Venetian hotel. I would not consider any other hotel for my next Venice trip.
