Lovely, 1 min w3slk from train station comfortable, reception staff really friendly.... breakfast a little underwhelming..... no fridge in rooms. Free ice and cold water a nice touch

Hotel was nice, clean, comfortable. Staff was very friendly. I heard the area can be sketchy at night but the hotel put in a lot of security measures like scan into the buildings after 9pm, always scan in to get into the elevators, scan into the public bathroom. It was conveniently located next to the train station. We look a shuttle from the airport to the train station and walked across the street and it was the hotel. Lots of small coffee shops and restaurants around the area. There is also a small grocery store right under the hotel. Breakfast was included and delicious. There were a nice choice of fresh bread, pastries, cheese, fresh fruits, eggs, and pancakes.

We were told that they had overbooked and didn’t have a room for us. They took it upon themselves to book us down the street at another hotel. It had a shoebox room, and smelled of cigarettes. We looked it up on Expedia, and it was over $100 euros a night cheaper, with no mention from Holiday Inn about reimbursement. We contacted Expedia, and are awaiting refund.

Wonderful view from the 7th floor overlooking the city. Breakfast was great and staff were very welcoming. The luggage storage and late check ins were life savers for our check in after taking our train from Paris and allowed us to explore the city on foot

Clean and budget friendly hotel/near railway station. The front desk staffs were very polite and friendly.

Air conditioning was not working & it was terribly hot & then there was a false alarm and we had to evacuate our rooms in the morning And mold & ants in the bathroom

What a delightful end to our 5 week vacation!!! We stayed at many hotels in Spain, Italy and Corsica and this Holiday Inn Express was right up there with the best. We chose it for its location near the train station but got so much more. We arrived at 10am, walked to the hotel and the staff offered ticketed and locked storage for our luggage. They gave us a map and showed us how to spend our day. We went to the end of the marina and into the fabulous and free fort. The room was large, super clean, and had intelligently designed funiture with space for 2 suitcases, packs, clothes and more. The breakfast buffet starts at 6:30am for those with early departures, like us! The buffet had cooked eggs, meat & vegetable, cresants & breads, yogurt & dried fruits & nuts, and was clean, organized and plentiful. What an excellent experience we had at the Holiday Inn Express!! Thank you!!

We stayed here because we had a very early morning train to Paris and the location was extremely convenient, right across the street. Perhaps not the nicest area of the city, but the hotel had everything we expected. The front desk staff were kind and helpful even packing some breakfast for us to go since we wereeaving before the continental breakfast began.

Staff were really friendly. Rooms were nice and big. Breakfast terrace was good

As in most places in the south of France, very few people have any knowledge of English. If you can't speak French, then anticipate some eyeroll and comments. It was a roll of the dice as to whether somebody knew English at the front desk. But c'est la vie, there's some outstanding sites to see in Marseille. And this hotel is great, with a really good breakfast.

We stayed for 2 1 night before catching the train to Nice the following day. The hotel is perfectly located directly across the road from Marseille St Charles

Excellent location, right in front of the train station, 15 minutes walk to the port, amazing breakfast.

Good place to stay before a cruise from Marseille, but the room need a little refresher.

The area around the hotel did not appear to be the greatest, but the hotel and staff make up for this. The gentleman who checked me in was EXTREMELY FRIENDLY & SYMPATHETIC to the inconvenience I was facing upon arrival to Marseilles. Everyone was very nice, our hotel room had a corner window with a very nice view of the city, where you can see the hills, what appeared to be a castle, and the ocean. It was a good deal for the price.

It was clean, quiet, breakfast was included, easy check-in. We walked 150 feet to the Marseille St. Charles train station. The price was reasonable.
