It’s a mold smell in the property. Service is excellent and the bar downstairs is nice. The customer service is very good. Due to the conditions of the property, I won’t stay again. It’s also a perfect location.

its super noise all night outside the hotel and the internet wifi is so weak that you will not be able to stream anything nor able to do any work on a laptop if required.

Wonderful staff and charming hotel. It's a little loud in the evening but if you want to be in the middle of everything you get what you ask for.

Small super clean hotel, cozy, right on 5th ave but without the noise.
Great customer service, the restaurant serves first level food.
Great steak

Location is everything. Right in the heart of PDC.

The service was good no complains there. There were roaches in our room. Very disappointed because this hotel had 4.5 stars when I looked it up. This is definitely not a family friendly area. It is loud outside lots of noise, people music till passed 3am.

We loved the character of the building, especially compared to all the modern building that is happening all around. We felt like we were staying in "old Mexico." It is charming to look at and to stay in. Friendly and helpful staff. It is in a lively and happening part of town, but was quiet after about 10pm. We would stay there again.

Very small room. Bought it as a double and twin bed room, but just had double. Bathroom was smelly, and toilet was very bad.

The property was super cute - don’t expect luxury boutique, more old school traditional charm.

We loved our stay at this hotel. The location was great, where it's right on 5th avenue. The room was perfect for 3 adults. The 247 concierge was great and super helpful. The balcony overlooked the intersection where there was constant action; street performers, mariachi's, braiding, graffiti and painting artists. The restaurant below was also a hot spot for good food. The walk to the beach was exactly 3 minutes to a prime spot in Playa Del Carmen. We would certainly recommend this property and would certainly love to stay there again.

Nice hotel. Staff was friendly. A few steps away from 5th Ave so you can hear the music late at night. If you’re a light sleeper bring earplugs. I didn’t have any issues though. There is no hairdryer so be sure to bring one. The room was a bit dark and couldn’t open my curtains because it would look into someone’s room next door. The AC worked well. Bed wasn’t bad. I went by myself to Playa Del Carmen and felt safe staying at this hotel. It’s in a very convenient location close to ADO bus stop, 711 steps from the door & one minute walk to the beach. The WIFI wasn’t the strongest but it works - i wouldn’t plan on doing any work video meetings while you’re there. I really liked they provided your room with a bottle of aloe gel. Nice touch. Also they require a 500 peso deposit when you arrive so be sure to plan for that.

I loved how its close to the town and bars and restaurants.

So if you like old places with a lot of character, this place might work for you. But it did not work for us. Its old, none of the windows sealed and the doors have major gaps. The first room we had had 5 windows and a door to a balcony. The AC could not keep up. And it had mosquitos pretty bad. There was no room fridge, which would be fine, but they had no ice machine or service. You had to go to the restaurant and get ice, but because it was another business, it was awkward and they gave you one cup half full of ice. It was sweltering here at the time. Secondly, despite the room having a nice view, the noise was pretty unbearable until about 3 am. They did however give a room change without hastle. Which worked better for the AC, mosquitos, and sound, but then had the sorta inverse issue of being dark and musty. But at least we could sleep in this one.

Good location. Clean and friendly staff. Only wish they had a phone in the room to contact front desk.

The Staff at Hotel Cielo were beyond accomodating. This was my first solo trip to Mexico and I was visiting for my birthday. They gave me all the advice from how to exchange currency (and where to get the best rates). Directions to certain areas, food recommendations and things to do in the area. The hotel was in the perfect location, right in the heart of the city (keep in mind you are downtown, so bring earplugs if you wish to sleep). Everything was walkable. Carboncitos, the restaurant attached was AMAZING. The bartender was incredible and made the best mocktails. They even surprised me with cake and had the band sing me happy birthday. Truly one of the best experiences! 10/10 recommend.

This property is right on the beach, literally steps away, and in the thick of the major tourist area of PDC. If you are looking for beach vacation, this is your place. Jose at the front desk is very accommodating and tried very hard to please us. The room is very pretty and comfortable. Suggestion: add more places to hang towels and such. The real issue is that if you are early birds or not into the tourist scene, this is not for you, as it is extremely loud at night. We wanted to use this as a base to see cenotes and the area. The pictures are accurate, so if you are looking for a beach trip, this is the right spot for you! Also, they provide as much bottled purified water as you can drink at no extra charge! If you go to Mexico, then you know that this is very important.

Excellent front desk staff.

I like the property because is located at few steps from the beach and 5th Avenue. The most concurred street by stores, street vendors and many restaurants and music.
However, if you don't like to be bother at night after a long day exploring, I strongly not recommend this place. You will hear noise and music all night. There is a construction right in front, you can imagine how the noise sounds like. The night before I checked out, there was a crane working the whole night. The noise was terrible, like a garbage truck with the engine on behind your room. I guess there was no one there to speak up for those people resting. The owners should get any type of permit for those type of situation out of business hours. The rooms are dark with a minimum natural light.

This was a very reasonable priced hotel but the walk up rate was ~$25 less. Wished that the restaurant had served breakfast

It was an amazing stay however the walls were a little thin and we could hear everything people were saying

Overall it was nice people good service however we asked for ocean view and we had to bend over the balcony to see a little piece of it. We were also right across big construction site of a demolition was really annoying to wake up to and super laud. The room was ok but really outdated. No pool nothing so I thought the property was overpriced for what you get.

We are "Travelers" and loved the uniqueness of the property. Located right in the downtown area, away from the bar scene. Beautiful scene and well above the average expectations for the area. Parking was 3 blocks west for $10. a day and a great guy. The main guy Jose, great and super knowledgeable about everything. Night shift guy ,Antonio , super nice guy also. We've been to Cancun 10 times and this time Cielo became our new favorite. Restaurant staff couldnt be better . Great food and $10-$12 a plate and breakfast for $6 couldnt be better.

Love Hotel Cielo!! We highly recommend staying at Hotel Cielo the next time you are in Playa. The perfect hotel for a romantic getaway. This is the third time my wife and I stayed at Cielo and we couldn’t be more happier with our stay. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are spacious, clean and have a true authentic feel of the area. It’s not just another typical hotel. A true gem that stands out. Thank you to the owners Steve and Alejandra for making our stay feel special. Again, we highly recommend this hotel!

Everything looked so good on the menu I couldnt decide what to order!! Another plus is that you get a discount for breakfast when staying with them! Everything is fresh and cooked to order. I love their restaurant Carboncitos! The rooms were extremely clean and well kept. The hotel is perfectly located to everything, especially the beach, and far enough away from all the hustle and bustle if you want peace and quiet at night. The owners are always there and ready to help you with anything, if needed. Great deal, great view, great staff, great service! I highly recommend this hotel and restaurant!
