The staff is very attentive and the food is great. Usually resort food gets a bad rep for not being so great, but Bouganville definitely got it right in that regard. However, I wouldn’t consider this a luxury 5 star resort. The toilets are jankey and don’t immediately flush and the drain plate in our shower wasn’t properly affixed to the floor. Plus their key cards deactivate anytime it’s next to your phone so you have to consistently go to the front desk to get it reactivated (this was really annoying!). You’re also pretty far from restaurants and shops you may find online. Getting an Uber from here is impossible (I tried) and the resort will price gouge you for any trips you’d like to take so absolutely make sure any excursion you book includes pickup at the Bahia Principe La Romana!! Their activity pool however, earns them major points. The swim up bar never lets your cup go empty and they even fill up reusable water bottles with anything you’d like, including alcohol. Overall it’s a great resort.

Nothing will ever compare to the love and joy that these people carry every single moment of their day and how they love each other at work. I was blown away by the genuine loving kindness... I love these people so much. I give them a Beyond five star definitely feel the love from every single humanbeing that works there...

To begin… The property gloated several restaurants to dine at. However, due to “limited reservations”, the 5 days we stayed here, we were only able to be accommodated for one restaurant. Reservations were always “booked”.
The property was really outdated. The food was… just okay. Not much options. The alcoholic drinks were really weak if I’m being honest. We didn’t enjoy them much. Overall the best part of this resort would be the staff as they were very welcoming and attentive. (With the exception of one gentleman)
Everyone else was really pleasant.
Overall, we’d give this resort a 3/10.

I did enjoy the staff and their eagerness to help and assist. For people who enjoy alcohol, meat and do nothing, this is their perfect setting but not for me. I didn’t like the location of the hotel, too far from things. If there’s a next time I would probably prefer to stay closer to Punta Cana.

Loved the reservation needed restaurants though it was difficult to get into them because they seem to fill before you have a chance. The buffet food was way below average. The pools were nice but why close pools so early at an adult only resort? Most of the staff and entertaining staff were great! The room was the worst part.. did not feel comfortable at all hair and dead bugs all over, shower and toilet falling apart at times barely working. My wife and I paid extra for ocean front room and we just had a view of the large tent used for the restaurant with no view of the beach. Overall had a great time but rooms could use tlc

The staff was really nice. The place was clean. There were too many power outages. My husband was in the middle of showering and the water shut off on him. The breakfast was not fresh and they didn't have many options. Not a lot of breakfast food. The lunch and dinner buffet were really good. The restaurants were really nice. The mixed drinks were ok, the alcohol was cheap. They didn't refill our fridge that was included very often. The floors of the pool were too slippery, I almost fell many times. My husband did fall once. It's not safe. The beach was dirty and not nice. The spa was ok not very nice for the price.

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience, the food is DISGUSTING I couldn’t eat a single thing and the beach is NOT the crystal blue that is advertised, it’s a mud brown instead. There’s really nothing to do on the “resort” others than the 2 pools. Everything appears beautiful and clean but when you start taking a closer look there are questionable stains all over the hotel room. We immediately left and booked a different resort to transfer too. The staff was also unhelpful when trying to receive a refund, telling me to my face they would absolutely approve it but then telling Expedia they would not. Over all worst experience of my life do not go here if you want to enjoy your vacation.

I usually don't leave reviews but Bahia Principe was exceptional! The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the food was excellent (loved the variety and especially the fresh fish!), the facilities (gym, pool, etc) were great, and the room was clean and very comfortable. Highly recommend! We will for sure go back.

I had a wonderful stay at Bahia Principe Luxury Bouganville - Adults Only Resort. We stayed for 5 nights and the dining, service, and poolside was great! I would've liked too have been more aware of scheduled activities in my room daily. It was also difficult calling certain locations.nThe beach was nice, but the entering and exiting the ocean wasn't the best from our location.

Start to finish great experience! The staff was welcoming and the food was fantastic. Pool entertainment was fun. Beach was clean. We took an excursion (horseback riding, boat ride and trip to the waterfall) set up by the staff in the lobby and it was an unforgettable experience. The sushi restaurant onsite was phenomenal!

I recently stayed at this resort and had a wonderful time. My personal concierge. Isaury De La Santos was the best part. He was kind friendly and helpful. The only negative was the toilets. You can not use toilet paper in the toilets so that was a surprise but it only took a minute to adjust. The entertainment is great and you must eat at the Asian spot Tamara. Awesome time!!!!

It was an average property at best. Met some nice people and the staff was friendly... to me, but totally ignored my wife during our entire stay. Not once did they acknowledge her or talk with her. The lack of English speakers was very different than the other three resorts we've stayed in in the DR. Food was the same every day. Horrible service at both buffets. Took forever to get drinks and refills. I know they can't do anything about it, but it was disappointing that the water was so murky. Not what people want to see in the Caribbean. Poor explanation of the sister property up the beach. Didn't even know about it until our last day. Limited room service menu. For the price we could have stayed at a much nicer resort closer to the airport.
