Hotel was nice for my stay. Its a bit outdated but overall nice quiet area. Didnt know that the reception area did not open until check in time at 2pm and it was disappointing after being delayed and not being able to checkin but let me tell you. Im so sorry i didn't get the receptionist/maids name but she saw us outside and opened up just to let us in. Thats called Great Customer Service. Plus she checked on us and made sure we settled in. Thank you to her.

This property is fine if you just need a one night stay near Edinburgh airport, but would not vacation there for a longer time.

No staff around to complain, and the one I did speak to did not care. Wet carpet in room, obviously from issue in bathroom where water not draining away. A terrible place in a terrible area.

Our trip was to visit friends and we booked here to be close to them however the room was small and basic the bed wasn’t very comfortable and we didn’t see any reception staff except the trainee on our first day. Only the cleaners. It felt like a hostel with us having to lock the door when we left our room instead of an electric lock. And having a key pad to get in and out of the block. It was clean but our towels wasn’t changed for the 3 nights we stayed. Also our view was a block of residential flats straight across so we had our blind down all the time for privacy. Disappointed overall. And no breakfast at the hotel.

Lovely hotel. Room was clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend. Great value for money.

Windows need replaced could hear everything all night and didn’t sleep at all. You have to push the bathroom door open over the uneven floor which makes a horrendous noise. Place is quite dirty looking.

Wasn’t shown how to enter the door with a code on it. A customer from the pub beside it shown me. Wasn’t very clean very basic my mum couldn’t get the shower to work sadly she didn’t want to wake me. Will not stay again. Not value for money very noisy not recommended.

I booked this properly as it was only 15 minutes back To the airport drop off for my hire car following a 2 week holiday to Scotland, including Edinburgh and the Scottish Highlands. The room, bar and restaurant were all right next to each other which was convenient and I was suprised how quiet it was when sleeping which was great. The staff that served me at the reception and restaurant were all very polite, friendly and efficient and there was a good choice of meals on the menu. The property is not too far from Edinburgh and the airport but in the close by area there is not much to do near close by to the hotel.

2 night stay between flying back from a personal holiday and needing to be in Edinburgh for business so opted to stay locally instead of unnecessary mileage. late arrival but no problem, reception called me about 11pm to check all was okay as they were about to handover to night staff. room was overall very good, little tired in places but clean everywhere it needed to be, dusty on tops of skirting etc so some care/time in room prep missing, but bed was comfy, and plenty of room for clothes, reasonable sized bathroom (shower a bit underpowered but was warm and clean). would I stay again, Yes. No breakfast was available when I visited, however theirs a chain bakery a 2 min walk or a large shopping centre with fast food outlets about a 10min drive.

The beds were comfy. The bathroom light didn’t work and it was really loud on a night. The bar and dining is great.

Nice pub/bar downstairs

Our twin room (Rm 11) was compact but fine for our needs (staying overnight before collecting someone from hospital in Edinburgh). Shower room was spotlessly clean but the door to it creaked loudly. The carpet has seen better days. We shut the sliding wardrobe doors when we saw what appeared to be dead centipedes, later discovered to be a previous occupant's false eyelashes! The room was far too hot and we dispensed with the duvets for most of the night. Beds were comfortable.

Only stayed one night we were at a family funeral room was comfortable warm and clean served our purpose

Our room wasn’t available on the first night so we had to stay in a different one to what we booked (two single beds instead of a double bed). The first room was very dirty, and the radiator didn’t work, which left us feeling cold the entire night. The bar was also very noisy, with guests drinking and shouting until the early hours of the morning. Hotel staff were initially reluctant to move us to our original room, but eventually obliged after I told them about our experience. After this, we were moved to a room that was far better, and akin to what we expected on arrival. There were no more issues after that. The room was clean, the radiator worked, and we could no longer hear the noise coming from the bar.

The bedroom was not cleaned, no soundproofing

Overall our 3 nights stay was good. Restaurant next door is awesome. Room was warm & serviced every day. Our only complaint is hearing the guests above us, especially going to the bathroom at 1am. Hotel staff are great, close to Edinburgh, easy 15 minute train ride.

Not bad, not great... a good little spot to put down your head. No frills, but for the price it's not bad. Rooms are a tad dated, and the beds could be comfier (2 flat pillows aren't enough) but overall its a good nights sleep.

Noisy. Don’t accept a room in the ground floor. You will hear every single step from the room above you! And when you want to leave, if the reception guy forgot to tell you to place the keys in the letter box(!!!) you will end up not knowing where to leave them as you won’t have any access to the reception before 9am!! I had to stay 10 min in the rain and then I gave up!! Otherwise Oscars restaurant (in the lodge) has nice yummy pasta that I highly recommend!

Clean and tidy staff very friendly

Hotel room was very clean and reasonably comfortable, though the whole place looked a little tired and needs updating. There are no breakfasts at present which was disappointing as we had to drive somewhere to find somewhere for breakfast. There is a co-op nearby and there were tea and coffee making facilities in the room so we managed. The walls were thin, so we could hear other guests in the early hours and the bed springs were a little creaky. The shower took a little working out as the controls were the opposite of what would be expected, however once worked out it was adequate. We ate in the attached Oscars restaurant on our first evening and the food and service were very good. Reception and cleaning staff were very friendly.

Nice staff, clean room but could do with some TLC, very thin walls you can here every sound from around and above not the best sleep.

On arrival saw notice that breakfast unavailable due to kitchen issues. The description online and the view on arrival were different. However, the room and bathroom were clean. Walls thin so could be disturbed by other guests. This is mainly a stop off for overnight trip/contractors really.

Hotel is perfect for the need, room on the smaller side but for the night it was perfect, plenty storage. Food at the on-site restaurant at night was great.

the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. However the TV did not really work, I think only 2 channels, there was no phone in the room and the early call did not happen as there did not seem to be night staff. At the price it was just OK.

Worst accommodation ever.

Wonderful staff, 35-40mins commute into Edinburg by train and the hotel has everything you need to stay a few nights!

It was decent enough for what we needed though. The light in the loo did stop working the second day. It seemed to be quiet, but was noisy at a few times during the night probably from the bar below. Transportation was easy though, taxi service knew how to get there.
