Very clean, staff was very pleasant and helpful

Nice, decent stay, seems family owned so very courteous staff and accomodating. Place needs a few uogrades but ornthe price it was a wonderful place to stay.

Dirtiest hotel I’ve ever seen stains on all bed covers this hotel is on main road for public transportation so very noisy windows are full of gaps and dirty so is very noisy I paid for four nights ended stay for two There was an event that weekend couldn’t get any other hotel But as soon I found availability in my favorite hotel we moved and left the pile on a hurry Didn’t even asked for reimbursement for remainder of days I want to donate that for cleaning supplies they need them bad and lots of TLC

The building is beautiful but the staff is disappointing. We asked why the Wifi was not working and there only response was “ that’s weird”. We asked if we could watch TV but we couldn’t because the TV kept saying that the bill hadn’t been paid. We asked the staff about the TV and there only response was “we paid it and we don’t know why it doesn’t work”. We stayed there for 4 days and this was never addressed.

Great Hotel historical site, great service

Was my first time staying here and I love it my family was so happy the staff was on everything to make sure we have anything we need the hotel was just perfect for our vacation nothing fancy but beautiful place I will definitely come back to stay here again Nuestra primera vez aquí y nos gusto un hermoso lugar my familia estuvo feliz los empleados estaban en todo para hacegurarce que estuviéramos bien yo .... si regresaría a quedarme aquí el hotel perfecto para nuestras vacaciones .!! Solo con la atención que Noemí nos brindó cuando mi hermano amaneció enfermo de la comida de una noche ella llego a prepararnos un tea que alludo mucho a mi hermano para seguir con nuestras vacaciones mil estrellas para todos los de este hotel me gustaría nombrar a todas las que nos atendieron pero no me cuerdo de sus nombre pero unas bellas personas

Historical hotel over 100 years old. There will be hot water in the morning, but at night there probably won’t but that is normal in Mexico. I arrived at the hotel around 1am and the guy at the reception was very kind and went to check out our room to make sure everything was ready and then took us up. They have complementary breakfast and WiFi (I just asked the receptionist) so no need to pay extra for it while booking the hotel. The hotel is about a 10mn walk away from El Malecon, and There’s a naval museum literally next door. The naval museum is huge and very beautiful.

The staff is always wonderful. I stay here every time I come to Veracruz. I like it's proximity to the historic downtown district. It's always comfortable and clean.

Loved the architecture of the building, location is awesome and service amazing. Totally and highly recommend it, should be always to the maximum capacity.

No hot wwter in the morning and toilet did not flush properly

Veracruz is a place I had always hoped to visit, and it didnt disappoint. I got to know the heroic city of Veracruz with lots of history. I chose well where I stayed, at the Meson del Mar hotel.The staff is incredible. Mexico is known for their hospitality, but I think they wrote the book of service at this hotel. Unforgettable!

Great hotel, excellent service and location

This place was really close to the boardwalk and other attractions. Friendly staff and very helpful. Highly recommend this hotel if your on a budget.

I love staying here. I come to Veracruz about twice a year and stay here every time. The staff is wonderful and the rooms are awesome. I want ever stay anywhere else!

This was a great hotel in an excellent location. The staff was nice and helpful, the room was clean (and they cleaned VERY well every day). We stayed for Carnaval and it was the perfect place to be and for a great price.

We made a haste discussion to go to the Boca Del Rio and we knew we made a mistake as soon as we went to look for something to eat in our new area. Meson Del Mar is a one stop shop. If you book the room dont think about leaving the area. Great hosts as well.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The rooms are full of character. The desk clerks are great people. They dont speak English but they know what you need and are extremely helpful. My daughter was sick one day and the desk clerk gave her medicine and checked up on her, she was so caring. The hotel is centrally located and you can walk to most of the tourist hot spots from it. We took a cab back to the hotel from the aquarium and it was only 30 pesos, less than 2 dollars, so if you dont want to walk a lot the cabs are pretty cheap and theyre everywhere. One bad aspect about Veracruz is you really get hounded by the restaurants. Every restaurant has someone standing outside trying to get you in. At first its fun, but it gets old pretty fast. I recommend the short boat ride to Cancunita (little Cancun), literally about the size of a small living room. It is great for kids. Its a little island with very clear water and they let you swim for about 30 minutes. For the coffee lovers, Veracruz coffee is great. The hotel doesnt have coffee so I walked about 2 blocks each morning to the Italian Coffee Company for two cups of coffee. Very good coffee, old antique coffee machines, very interesting. Of course you have to try Gran Cafe de la Parroquia. The coffee is amazing (lechera, coffee with milk) and the sandwiches are good. I didnt care for the chilaquiles, which are my favorite.

Fantastic little find in a quiet, convenient neighbourhood. The staff was incredibly attentive and polite. We loved it so much, we canceled our reservations at another hotel (in the centre of towne) and stayed 2 weeks instead of just one.
