Had a lovely stay, the staff were friendly and the building itself is impressive. The only negatives I have is the mattress we had in room 5 was very soft and seemed to dip in the middle which was uncomfortable at times, and the breakfast needs some attention (we ended up going out for breakfast elsewhere), however everything else was great - Thankyou

Fanastic location for transport, bus stops to go anywhere in the City is within 1 minute of the hotel and thats walking slowly, well stocked bar, guinness, Coors and Carling on draught, pool table for a bit of fun, its all here.

Apart from giving us keys for someone else’s room….hmmmm. Place is ok - but is old and very basic. I have 5 criteria for a hotel - comfy beds (these were old and too soft), decent shower (tiny and not great water flow), decent food (none available in the evening and breakfast didn’t include cooked breakfast - as advertised), decent coffee (only sachet coffee in rooms and machine coffee not great), and overall cleanliness and service…well they were pleasant and polite and the room was clean so no complaints. This is a £30-£40 a night hotel.

Bit of a rabbit warren. The curtains in my room where in need of maintenance and didn't close properly, which let the outdoor light, located outside my room in. There is no food available at night time, but this is made obvious when you check in. Good Wifi. Breakfast was basic, but plentiful. Still a good stay for the price.

Excellent stay. Just what we we were looking for: a Budget Hotel in the Sefton area, with high standards of facilities and cleanliness, and run by friendly and helpful staff. Hope to stay there again soon.

We stayed at the Mountford hotel for 2 nights to attend a gig at the Olympia. Every member of staff we came across was friendly and helpful, particularly the night receptionist on 31/8. The hotel is conveniently located with a bus stop a fee metres away; buses to the city centre ran every 15 minutes and the journey was around the same. We got an uber on one of the evenings and it was £9 to Bold Street. Our room was clean and adequately sized; the hotel is in a fairly old building and although the decor appears dated, it is appropriate for the era and perfectly serviceable. We were able to park in the car park but there was also space on the road in front of the hotel if required. Overall we would absolutely stay here again, thank you for a lovely trip!

We liked this hotel, old one but i like the Georgian ,victorian style building. Breakfast was continental but it was good enough for me, good bus service, we walked into Liverpool about fifty minutes walk you can see a bit more of Liverpool this way .yes i would stay again

The bed was really comfortable, bathroom was great (missing a shelf in the shower), room was cramped, couldn’t open the door fully as the wardrobe unit was in the way. Needs redecorating and some general minor finishing but nothing that affected our stay negatively. Breakfast was basic but adequate. Staff were lovely and happy to help with taxis etc. we enjoyed our stay and slept very well.

Hotel was grand but needs some TLC. Check in was good but need to wait in the adjacent games room during busy times as the receptionist also serves the bar. All the staff were polite and attentive. Free self parking on site in front or at back (register at reception). Ours was a small en suite double room with high ceilings and a courtyard view. Decor a bit dated and room and passages are musty smelling but after I opened the window the room was ok. Amenities include lift, towels, toiletries, mirror, tv, kettle tea coffee sugar milk in room, and a chair plus side table in room. Free continental breakfast in the basement (only accessed by steps which are a problem for those with mobility issues and is the most musty smelling). There are few good restaurants and shops within a 15 min walk. What needs improvement is (1) there is no water dispenser in the lobby/reception. (2) no aircon (3) no hair dryer (4) not enough space between bed , chair, bathroom etc. ie too poky and narrow (5) my mum uses an iPhone and connected to wifi but my Android just wouldnt connect to wifi at all even after restarting as suggested by the receptionist. I gave up after an hour and ended up not working and using only my mobile data (6) passages need to be ventilated / aired (7) shoddy tiling and missing /stained grout in the bathroom I wont be surprised if the rooms below have leaks

The staff were really helpful and couldnt do enough to help. The room was comfortable, the bathroom was ensuite and modern. The breakfast room was a little tired but clean

The place reminded me of a rabbit's warren/ maze. Very old style, could do with some maintenance.

Great location for Sefton Park and south Liverpool. Exceeded expectations and good value for money. Need to drop the "free parking" from the name as none was available when we visited but parked on a nearby side street.

All staff at the hotel were fantastic and very helpful. Hotel perfect location for Sefton Park and just a short taxi ride into the centre. Hotel kept clean. Still a great choice at breakfast without the full English. I would definitely use this hotel again.

Only stayed for one night but was happy with the room and parking. Property was clean and room was nice as well.

Staff were fantastic, helpful and friendly. Facilties were basic. Breakfast was excellent. A bit run down but value for money.

4th time here but didnt bother with breakfast as last March the standards had dropped alot. Still good value room with ensuite. Best receptionist yet. Never k ew there was a lift.

Lovely man checked us in… all easy and quick. Room was spacious and really nice. Beds were very comfortable. We were just passing through but it was a lovely hotel and would definitely use again.

As a first time visiting American in Liverpool, I couldn’t be happier. A great value for a budget traveler.

It is my 2nd time staying at the hotel, As per before the experience was very pleasant clean helpful and polite staff, easy checking and out and the parking is very helpful- I would recommend the hotel- however it is a pity the English breakfast is no longer available, I did enjoy it on my 1st visit!

Baby cot very mouldy and damp from storage. Stairs on entry to property. No lift even though lifts and accessibility advertised on website.

Easily accessible, private parking behind the hotel. The receptionist was so friendly and helpful. We loved our room is was very spacious and clean. Comfy beds (very bouncy but no complaints here) not noisy at all even. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again!!
