Beautiful hotel and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was great. My room was decorated to a high standard and even provided an iron and ironing board. The only thing that was missing was a hairdryer. I have short hair so it wasn’t a problem for me. I’m sure they would provide one at reception.

Spacious traditional hotel handy for M6 motorway. Rooms comfortable and clean with comfy bed and bathroom with bath and shower. Grounds looked lovely but the weather was not kind enough to allow us to explore them.Excellent breakfast cooked to order, plus usual selection of cereals, juice yogurt & fruit on a cold buffet. Didn’t eat dinner as close enough to centre of Lymm to take advantage of the restaurants and pubs in the lively village centre. Would highly recommend for a short stay if in the area.

Impressive appearance on arrival. Pleasant staff. A bit surprised to be kept hanging around when we arrived 10mins before check in, difficult to believe the room was not ready. Biggest problem was lack of heating in the room amplified by lack of double glazing both on arrival and overnight.

The hotel was excellent with all the staff being friendly and efficient. The room was impressive and the catering was of a high quality.

Charming, helpful staff helped make our one night stay a pleasure. The two small double beds were the most comfortable we have ever had in a hotel. Both dinner and breakfast were very tasty, freshly cooked and most enjoyable. Prices were reasonable for both food and wine at dinner and our breakfast was included in the room price. Great value stay and we can happily recommend Statham Lodge Hotel and hope to stay there again.

The best thing about this hotel are the staff who served breakfast especially Janet she was the highlight in a disappointing stay we have stayed here 5 times this time the wing we were on smelt musty the room was cold the shower screen leaks with all the sealant coming away no hair dryer in the room a long walk to reception to get one there was a phone in the room but it was not connected to anything and the door was very stiff to open and close.

Our only problem was that unlike most hotels if you arrive early still allow check-in, we were told that we couldn’t book in until 15.00. Fortunately we had wonderful sandwiches and friendly service in the bar and a trip to a Warrington store to take up the time. Guests arriving after a four hour drive on UK motorways deserve a more friendly reception.

The room was very small very old fashioned and cold due to the old single glazed windows. No hairdryer in the room. The room is badly in need of an upgrade. Fortunately we were only there for 1 night and didnt arrive until late.

The ventilator in bathroom didn’t work. Did tell receptionist on duty day I arrived. There was a notice to keep bathroom door closed as they have sensitive fire alarm! So totally steamed up after shower. The room was good with all the extra stuff ironing board,tea and coffee etc plus toiletries,quite rare in most hotels these days.

6 night booking but reception refused to allow 6th night to be cancelled as said only Expedia or Hotels could do that
Surely reception staff are able to do that for a client?

Location: convenient because of where we were going the next day. Short drive from M6 exit.
Grounds: Good parking. Space for a short walk after our meal. M6 audible while outside.
Check in: Good, speedy
Common areas: wearing thin in places, acceptable
Room: large though basic. Rather noisy, having a giant extractor fan outside. Also vibrations through the night, guessing from a freezer/cold room.
Bar meal: good steak and fries. Bar has decent atmosphere.
Sleep: not great due to the noise
Breakfast: Limited but completely fine.
Overall: Adequate though not more than that

This was a one-night stop over travelling from north to south. It's a short journey from the M6 and very close to Lymm. It's got lovely gardens, comfortable bed, nice bar and excellent breakfast. Ample car parking as well. Recommended.
