The overall experience was excellent. The proprietors were friendly and welcoming. The hotel was attractively decorated and furnished. The bedroom was very comfortable with its own spacious balcony overlooking the sea. the breakfasts were excellent.

We stayed there for 5 nights with our 2 teen girls joining over the weekend. Everything was really good: the hospitality, the room and bedding, breakfast, local restaurant guide and even the flush at the toilet. Parking was an issue after 8pm as usually all the closest parking lots would be full.

Great personal service, excellent breakfast and happily obliged to our request for early breakfast on day of departure. Highly recommended.

My husband and I were staying to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, Brid and Derek our hosts were extremely welcoming. A bottle of fizz had been left chilling in our room to help with our celebrations. Nothing was too much trouble and they booked a table at their favourite Italian restaurant for us. Our room was clean and cosy and decorated to a high standard. A tasty breakfast with several options was available. We had a room with a view of the sea and the whole guesthouse was beautiful with original features.

Brid and Derek made feel us at home. The room was spotless. Cleanliness is better than any 5* we have stayed in. Their care of each and every guest made everyine feel special. The breakfast was delicious and diverse. We will definitely stay there again. They have great coffee and a guest sitting room to relax. Thank you both for your efforts and care. The hospitality is unique The a location is very convenient for walking into town to enjoy a nice dinner and a walk by the beach. They do almost everything themselves. And when the owners are on top of their business as they are, they certainly give it all they've got.

We have stayed in Eastbourne before but this is our first time at the New England and we would not stay anywhere else now. Our welcome from the hosts was so friendly. The whole place from our room to the dining room and lounge was spotless. Huge choice of breakfast menu and nothing was to much trouble. The seafront was across the road we could not have asked for more.

Lovely place with friendly owners and a great choice for breakfast. Nice room with a comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. Close enough to the pier and the right side of the free parking area, which was a bonus. Would recommend!

We had a good experience staying at B&B. Both hosts were great, very friendly, welcoming, understanding, helpful and going extra miles to help make our stay memorable. Friendly staff, great breakfast, unique self serving bar (you write out your own order), very clean premisesand their warmth spread to other customers too. Ideal location to all amenities and literally opposite the sea front. Parking can be a hit and miss but had not put us off for future stay.

Brid and Derek gave us a friendly welcome. The room was well presented with a sea view and is easily located to the seafront. The breakfasts we had at the hotel were easily the best meal we had at the hotel. I'd recommend The New England for anyone looking for a short stay by the sea.

No need to look any further if you're looking to stay in and around Eastbourne. Bridge and Derek were perhaps the most accommodating lodging hosts I've encountered in my times at an B&B. The room was clean, the breakfast - superb, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Would be happy to book next time we're in the area!

A weekend break to somewhere we had never been turned out to be a very wise choice. Stayed in many hotels and guesthouses and has some great stays and warm welcomes but it was hard to recall any warm, honest and friendly welcome from Bríd on our arrival. The place is very clean and every precaution in place during this Coronavirus times to make you feel safe. The room keys, the TV remote and amenities are in sealed bags to reassure you of the CoVid prevention measures in place. From the welcome Bríd showed us to our room offering to take our luggage. Explained the breakfast times and how to preorder your food etc. The dining room again is clean and has dividers between the tables which are set out at a social distance. On our first evening we asked for a recommendation for a nice restaurant Bríd made several suggestions and even booked us a table. How’s that for great service? There’s a separate review of the restaurant which again was top notch. The bathroom and bedroom were very clean there’s heating and a cooling fan so you can vary the temperature. Comfy bed plenty of pillows and the bathroom has amenities and fluffy towels. Located opposite the old fort and about 100 yards from the beach and walkway along the seafront. Parking is limited on site but free street parking close by. There’s a variety of hot and cold food options for Breakfast we had the full English which was tasty and plenty of it too. Tea, coffee, juices cereals and toast options too. Yummy a

Excellent, very friendly, breakfast was amazing, very clean room. We stayed here during the corona virus and was very quiet, but we had no worries. I know they had some cancellations due to the above but there was no need everything is safe here so come and stay. Will be coming back. Thank you for your fantastic service.

Great welcome and stay! Offered some food on arrival due to a stressful journey which was very nice of the friendly owners. Very clean and comfortable. Despite the weather the room was warm throughout the night. Breakfast was beautiful and plentiful.

Our stay at the New England in Eastbourne not only met our expectations but exceeded them tenfold. Derek and Brid (and Catherine) were the quintessential hosts. They were friendly, charming and incredibly helpful. Our stay in Eastbourne would not have been the same without them. Their bnb is delightful, decorated with such charm. I would have been happy to spend my days there without even venturing down to the Seaside. Everything was perfect; from their tastefully decorated rooms, to their delicious and filling breakfasts. These aren't your traditional Bnb breakfasts, but a full hot menu to order from; pancakes, waffles, croissant melts and omlettes on top of the large spread of juice, yogurt granola, cereals, beautiful fresh fruit salad and a selection of pastries. The French press coffee was delicious as were the big pots of tea - I had both I couldn't chose. I returned after a few weeks of traveling in France, and it felt like I was coming home! My second visit was just as outstanding as my first. I will definitely be returning periodically while my daughter is attending school in Eastbourne, and honestly feel a little more at ease knowing that they are there, if she needs anything.

Our experience at The New England was faultless, it is such a gorgeous B&B. We were in Room 4 and had a balcony and sea view. Here is how we would rate our experience over 3 nights stay: Room Cleanliness - 5 out of 5 (it was spotless) Bathroom Cleanliness: 5 out of 5 (great to have a bath and shower) B&B cleanliness in general - 5 out of 5 (again, spotless) Comfort of the Bed - 5 out of 5 (we slept very well) Friendliness of Hosts - 5 out of 5 (very hospitable and helpful, friendly and welcoming) Breakfast - 5 out of 5 (freshly cooked every morning with lots of choice) Furnishings - 5 out of 5 (attention to detail and very stylish) View - 5 out of 5 (you can see the sea!) Location - 5 out of 5 (walking distance to the pier, yet a bit further away from the hustle and bustle) Extras: the breakfast room gets lots of light and is a great space to start the day. There is also a lounge where one can relax or get drinks in the evening. Outside there is a very considerate smoking area where guests can get out of the wind and rain and have a smoke and a chat. Tips for Eastbourne: Book tickets for a concert at the bandstand, it is brilliant! The New England made our long weekend in Eastbourne extra special and we will be back. If you are looking at B&Bs and trying to make up your mind, do not hesitate!

Absolutely superb. This is a gem of a hotel run by the lovliest hosts you could meet. Will definitely go again and would highly recommend!

The property is very clean and tidy, with beautiful views looking out to sea which is only across the road. Highly decorated, lovely soft carpets and lots of space for clothes in the wardrobe and draws. Bathroom very clean and shower was easy to use. There was a range of tea and tasty biscuits in the room with water and a very handy corkscrew with wine glasses if you fancied a bottle of wine. The reception we received on arrival was exceptional, we felt like we had known Derrick and Brid for years. They have recently obtained a license for a small bar and we were the first to receive a complementary drink. Breakfast was very tasty, we helped ourselves to the variety of cereals, fruit and drinks laid out each morning and ordered a delicious full English breakfast from the menu which was lovely and hot.

Doreen and Mario are lovely couple there was a little mix up with our room but it was sorted very quickly and efficiently had lovely stay food excellent.

Room had no shaver socket in the bathroom - I had to kneel on the floor to use a mains adapter six feet from the mirror. Otherwise had a comfortable stay with very good breakfasts and very friendly and helpful staff.
