Clean tidy and well presented. I will stay there again

Room was comfortable and both room and en-suite were clean, and the stay was very good value for money. However, my room faced the street and even with the window closed I was disrupted several times during the night from noises outside (e.g. waste collection) so if anyone is a light sleeper I would suggest requesting a room not facing the street! Obviously the hotel itself is limited in their ability to rectify this.

Terrible!
1.0
Shower broken, kettle filthy , one chipped saucer one missing altogether.
Lampshade missing just a bulb hanging down.
Quilt ripped, general decore poor and needs refreshing, and an iron burn in the mingle of the carpet
Really not acceptable for £175 a night

Just one night. Very convenient location no frills but perfectly adequate

Very disappointing. Will never go back or recommend to anyone. Even though the location is good.

Value for money and location

It's a great location right in the centre of Oxford. But this also means it's very noisy. Had to have the window open after a hot day, but there was noise from the nearby pubs until 2am, and noise from the loud AC unit in the building across the road.

Simple hotel in center of Oxford, old but the room was clean
5.0
Room was clean and comfortable. Typical 3-star accommodation, and Abdul, the manager, was a helpful and courteous host. Best part was that Ali Inn is in the heart of Oxford, close to bars, restaurants and all attractions. Highly recommended for value-for-money and convenience.

A great location in the centre of Oxford, a friendly welcome, just the basics but clean and comfortable

Got bite marks all over me, bed felt like cardboard and used towels still hung on the back of my door when I entered the room.

Comfortable, simple, clean. Great location.

Good location and very clean. The only con is the noise: it's close to pubs and the us no sound proof window.

The room had not been cleaned. It’s an old property with no double glazing and opposite a pub and next to a theatre so it was very noisy all night. The tv has not been working for a long time - maybe years looking at other reviews. No Wi-Fi too. Very poor effort for such a great location.

Really good location near to railway station and round the corner from bus station…..a five minute walk brings you to city centre.felt comfortable and safe for a solo traveller.

The room was super warm, coming in to that after a night out was amazing!

The receptionist was nice and the location is very good but the wifi did not work. The main issue was that my room and the bathroom were not very clean. The bathroom also had a strong odour so I needed to keep the bathroom door closed as it made me feel sick.

Well located city centre hotel within walking distance of city centre. Will definately stay again

Absolutely disgraceful to list rooms at this property as £138 pounds per night for a double. The entrance looked like the back of a restaurant, manager on front desk gave poor greeting and just gave us a key no other information. Room was filthy, dust everywhere, dirty teacups, hair on linen. The fan was caked in dust. The bathroom had black mould, faeces in the toilet and all over toilet brush. Spoke to manager who said he had a cleaner clean it! He offered a second room, we accepted as didn’t want to ruin our trip but after 5 minutes in room it was only slightly better. Broken toilet seat, dirty fan, window wouldn’t open, smears on glass and dirty water in tooth brush holder..faeces in toilet and in brush. Stains on mattress absolutely gross. We decided despite it ruining our evening and trip we couldn’t stay. Went to speak to manager no staff anywhere to be found. Left key at front desk and text manager on number we had. No reply to request for refund no reply at all. Great location, good pictures on Expedia but don’t be fooled this is false this was worse then a hostel and absolutely filthy how they can get away with charging £140 for this is disgraceful. Awful customer service. Avoid at all costs!

The directions to the hotel sent me all over Oxford where even the natives couldn’t point out the inn - or had ever heard of it. When the description says the hotel has TV, they mean that literally - there is a TV, but it has no channels and when I asked why it won’t work, the answer was “the rain.” The towel warmer in the bathroom also didn’t work. I am traveling for 3 months, and being able to dry a bit of laundry becomes important. The room was cleaned once during a 4-night stay. On the plus side, the man at reception carried my heavy suitcase up and down the stairs, something I would have had trouble with on my own. Another plus- it’s perfectly located.

Massive building works around property at the moment. Room cleanliness way below par - mold and dirty shower. Carpet poorly vacuumed and sheet stains. Towels old and ragged. Very budget hostel like accommodation for not hostel prices

The room and bathroom was not cleaned properly. The bathroom was covered in dust, no face towel provided. The carpet in the room had long hair spread out in the room, was just not a nice clean environment to be in.

We arrived late so had clear instructions how to open key box which was fine. As soon as you step in and make your way to your room you are greeted by a plumber in limescale ridden sink which probably belongs to the room on the ground floor. The stairs really needed some TLC, marks all up the walls with dirty carpet. When we reached our room and went in, there was so many different patches on the wall from plaster falling off it was horrible.
4 raw plugs in the wall whilst the mirror was just leant against the wall. TV hanging with a broken aieral. After seeing the sink downstairs I guessed what the bathroom would be like and I was correct, limescale all around the plug and mould in the shower. Shower head fitting was broken so I couldn’t adjust the height, drainage not the best as it slowly filled up mid shower. Wet mud splash marks up the back off the door.
Also the windows were single glazed so we was awoken by someone throwing up at 3am and then road works beginning at 8. I would’ve thought on the 3rd floor you shouldn’t be hearing these things.
Silver lining was we only had 1 night here, went to the George Oxford hotel after. Was 10 times better!

A cosy, central, extremely friendly little hotel.

The property was close to restaurants and campus. But it was not well kept, very thin walls (noisy), and you enter from an alley.

In need of desperate redecorating all over, new carpets, tele that works full clean and dust, shower door hanging off

This was perfect for our hotel stay for a night before an early morning flight. When our flight was cancelled and we had to catch a flight going out late in the day they extended a late checkout until noon and then for 20 p they extended us until 2pm. Love the mobile check-in and access when we arrived which made it so easy when you are dragging a lot of luggage. We had a small room, but it was very clean and had all the amenities needed. I would definitely stay again.

The Ali Inn is a good family-run hotel very conveniently located in Oxford.
I chose the Ali Inn for its location and price. I was not disappointed. I did not expect Ritz accommodations for the price. The staff were friendly and brought my bags up to my room which was acceptably clean as was the shower.
I did not experience the problems of outside noise, but maybe because I stayed on a Monday night on a bank holiday.
The only minor problems were the steep stairs and the fact that no personnel were present as I exited the next day. I just dropped my room key into a bowl. That is not a great inconvenience. For the price, on a Monday night, this was a good buy.

It would be difficult to find a better location. For those not familiar with Oxford, The Ali Inn in just moments from the Ashmolean. Easy walk to Jericho. Great spot for Morse fans. Warm welcome from owner and felt very welcome.

This property is only a short wall from Glouster Green central bus station. Its also very close to the centre of Oxford. Very friendly service. I recommend it highly

No one to greet on check in, had to go to a shop next door to collect my keys. Corridor up to my room not clean or pleasant to view. Room very basic, not the cleanest and really noisy.
Bathroom dirty, especially round the floor area by the door and shower.

Fantastic location, very easy to the bus and train station. Price is great. You are not booking a 4 star hotel here, you are getting the bare minimum for a stay at a great location. But everything worked and was in good shape so was a good stay.

The hotel was a great location to centre golf Oxford. The room was warm and comfortable. The manager was fantastic in helping my mother to arrive safely and went out of his way to meet her at Gloucester Green. Couldn’t be more grateful for a lovely stay at the Ali Inn. Thank you.

I choose the option to pay in the hotel, and the guy was trying to take the money before I arrived and start calling me before I get there!
The hotel (if you can call that) was dirty everywhere, smelled bad, the towel was dirty, didn’t worth the money was a really bad experience unfortunately..
that’s not a hotel it’s a motel!
