Really nice place. Stayed in the "Bluebell" room. Was disappointed to see the condition of the paintwork surrounding the light fitting by the wardrobe; doesn't scream "4 star hotel". Also, I was a little disappointed that there were so few channels available on the TV. Other than that, I was impressed.

Beautiful stunning settung & building but feel needs some money spending on rooms to bring them up to date. Breafawas terrible. Left the lot because it was swiming in grease Great value for money though

Lovely family-run friendly hotel. Spotlessly clean and always welcoming and helpful staff. I arrived late and tired and immediately felt relaxed. Great choice at breakfast. Enough free parking. Walkable to the village and a lovely National Trust countryside. Two easy to follow walk routes available at reception. Set in a beautiful garden and grounds, on a hill so great views. The room was very comfortable and had everything you would need.

Our room was small but cute. We had everything we needed & the bed was super comfy. Staff were lovely & helpful. My only issue ( & it’s a small one) is I ordered scrambled eggs for breakfast but what I got was like a cut up omelette. Would stay again!

Lovely hotel and grounds. Room too small have stayed before in room with a balcony and that was lovely. Disappointed with breakfast. Only white bread available and breakfast was nothing special spongy black pudding and hard bacon.

Exquisite setting, lovely ambiance. Room smaller than expected and mattress too hard for my bony prominences but may be preferred by some.

This was our second stay at the property. We returned not only for the beautiful location & accommodation, but we also enjoyed our dining experience very much. The included breakfast was far above average in terms of selection, taste, and service, and the dinner options were superb. Parking is convenient and included. There is a lift if you need it, and they also have improved their Wifi since our last visit last year. A loud event took place at the hotel our last night but we received communication about it beforehand so it wasn't a problem (music off before 11pm). Our only regret was not taking advantage of the gorgeous lounge for an evening drink!

We’ve just spent two wonderful weeks at this property visiting from Canada. All the staff are very helpful and the food in the restaurant was excellent. Already planning a return visit next year.

It was a beautiful place - very cozy. The staff at breakfast were very friendly and the food was delicious.

Beautiful location in its own grounds but within a short distance from such attractions as Trentham gardens and the Monkey forest.

Rooms were dated but appropriate for this property. We were only there a few hours and did not get the opportunity to indulge in the breakfast due early schedule the next day.

So impressed I have extended my stay, beautiful grounds, fabulous view from my bed, and when dining! The evening meal was top class, superb choice of menu and the quality 5*, will definitely recommend and will definitely be coming back!

Last minute business trip. Found this place local to where i needed to be. Lovely setting and and a great location. A very warm welcome. Food and service was excellent. Room well equiped and comfortable. Was advised that there was a wedding celebration on during my stay, but this did not impact me in the slightest. Overal a great little find and will be back at next opportunity.

A short break for a birthday weekend. Very comfortable stay. Lovely surroundings and friendly staff. Only ate breakfast during our stay and this was very nice. Value for money.

Stayed for 3 nights at the Upper House in a double room. This was our second stay at the hotel. We were visiting the British Ceramics Biennial and the hotel is in a good position near Wedgewood to visit the museum and to get to the other exhibitions in Stoke itself. The hotel is in a delightful position outside Stoke near countryside providing excellent walks. It is walkable to the Wedgewood museum. It is also a short drive to Trentham Gardens. The room was comfortable and the food good (breakfast and evening meals). In particular the service by the hotel staff was excellent and very helpful. In particular the dining room staff were excellent - nothing was too much trouble. We would recommend this hotel for visits to Stoke.

Beautiful Hotel set in stunning gardens. Friendly and helpful staff. Room was fine, if a bit small, and would have liked an extra chair. Food at breakfast and dinner was superb.

The hotel was very attractive inside and out and the staff were very attentive and friendly. The only thing I was not impressed with was the food. At breakfast there was no fresh fruit, to have on its own or with cereal. The burger I had one evening was very tasteless despite all the toppings, but others with me enjoyed their meals so I may have chosen badly.

Great location and setting. Staff were also great. The hotel had character, lovely place!

We only stayed one night but would love to have stayed longer.Our double room was clean and spacious overlooking the gardens.The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was great and varied. We would definitely book this hotel again and would recommend anyone the same.
