Interesting place ,first impression is oh,but after a while it became quite a good all around atmosphere

Booking stated breakfast included. Had to pay for lukewarm breakfast as told Marstons had changed their policy AFTER we had booked. Surely should have honoured this and included breakfast.anyway it was not warm and staff couldn't care less

Dated, run down and dirty. Food not up to much & wine glasses filthy (lipstick and grubby). Carpets throughout worn & dirty. Hole in our bedroom wall, Paint falling off the ceiling into the bath and radiator rusty and painted over. Breakfast poor quality and no yoghurt/berries as listed. Loud and noisy.

Staff very friendly and competent, they couldn’t do enough, room was clean and very spacious. Great value for money.

Needs to be decorating and floors make noise when walking and can hear them walking past in room. Money needs spending on the rooms. Toilets in Bar were over flowing and blocked.

Food was cold, bedroom smelt, toilet seat broken,
The place needs decorating badly, I won't be staying here again

Just needed a bed for the night and evening meal. The pub grub was lovely, the room and bathroom were large, there was a sofa in the window alcove which was nice, didn't have a view but it is in the town centre!

Very friendly right in town centre

A standard pub hotel, guess it used to be a coaching house. Rooms massive, comfortable, clean and quiet. Bathroom had a large corner bath with powerful shower over. Bonus of discount offered to guests in the restaurant. All in all a decent place. just another old building so don't expect modern build, this has character

What did I like nothing much The whole place was rundown scruffy with peeling wallpaper and dirty curtains. The Bar was dirty and the carpet Well seen better days. when being asked if breakfast was ok heard somebody say mushrooms were burnt and hard the waiter said Oh well such is life and walked off. I will not be going back .

We stayed for an overnight visiting family in Andover. The breakfast was lovely, and the staff very helpful.
It was a warm and stuffy night so the bedrooms were extremely warm.

This property is very old and I liked the uneven creaky floors. The bed was very comfortable and clean.
Parking was free.
However my meal was tasteless and the garlic bread was cold and soggy.
Continental breakfast was uninspiring.

people was nice checking was easy. The place was completely tired. Carpets were filthy. Bathroom had no pressure. Whole place just needs lots of money spending on it.

The food was ok but the property was very run down with paint falling off the ceiling in the bathroom

This is the third time we have stayed. The room was clean, the bed comfy, the shower was brilliant. Nice and hot and good water pressure. Could do with blackout curtains and the toilet seat was loose ( not a big deal just a bit disconcerting when you sat on it). The breakfast was superb, lots of choice and beautifully cooked, but the evening meal could have been better, the hunters chicken needed more sauce as it was very dry, my chilli didn't come with the dips listed on the menu, but only realised I should have had them after the meal when I looked back at the menu otherwise I would have mentioned it to the staff. Over all a good stay and great location for us to visit family.

Room 4! Wow that floor has some slope on it. Room was lovely and clean. Sad shower though. Couldn’t stop the water leaking under the screen. Had to use a large towel on the floor to stop the water running out the door. Great breakfast. Sadly the coffee still not working since our stay weeks ago.

Nice enough property, good staff, just the room needed a bit of a better clean, beds were comfy with fresh pressed sheets. If the walls were cleaner, i would give them more stars.

Room was ok. Wasn't like the pictures on the site but the bed was large and very comfy. Floors were rather creaky so glad we were on the top floor and not on any of the lower ones. The staff were all lovely and the dinner and breakfast we had were very nice

1617 era, Its old but stylish for its age. The only negative would be no WiFi

Food was OK. No yoghurt at breakfast but fry up was good. bed was very comfortable. The bedroom needed updating, really old fashioned furniture. Had to use an extension cable to use the kettle. Nice towels and very hot water

Room was a good size as was the bathroom. Decor in room was in poor condition but it was habitable and bed a good size. Unfortunately there was a private party downstairs with a disco so noisy until midnight. Car Parking is very limited so get there early for a space!
4.0
Friendly staff, nice food, comfy bed, spacious room, good central location, but accommodation areas in need of a fairly major refurbishment. Poor soundproofing so quite a lot of noise carried through from bar area. But we still enjoyed our 2 night stay. Car park limited spaces but free for guests if you can get a space.
