This was a nice quiet place on the water after exploring the Royal Palace and museums in Stockholm. The little restaurant at the hotel is very convenient and the breakfast was excellent as well! Simply magnificent!

A beautiful hotel located a bit far from the main area of the city.

The room and view was nice. The breakfast was chaotic with lots of people in tight corridors of an old house, ang generally nothing special.

First of all I want to mention that we already stayed here 2 times in the past. But this time we were sadly dissappointed about some things in the hotel. - We booked an extra bed for a 3.person and when then 3.person arrived the bed wasn't in the room - even though the 3.person checked in and we already paid for the bed. After calling the reception twice someone came and brought the bed. The quality of the breakfast buffet definitly decreased, which made us sad because the breakfast was always one of our favourite things in Hotel J. Not many options at the breakfast buffet and even though the buffet ends at 11:00, many food choices completely ran out at 9:00 every day. No orange juice available after 9:00. The staff was super slow with filling up things at the buffet and you had to wait for about 20 minutes at least to be able to get your favourite food choices. Also you can't get hot chocolate on the upper floor at breakfast, only downstairs?! The staff told me to go downstairs to the 2.breakfast buffet to order hot chocolate, so I had to wait for 10 minutes before I could go back to my family and have my breakfast. The rooms could need some small improvements for example the floors partly have many scratches. The area around the Hotel (a lot of nature) and the short distance to Stockholm by boat. Due to the decrease of quality I would choose a different hotel for my next stay in Stockholm.

2nd time at Hotel J. Room was comfortable and clean, although our 1st floor seaview room did not have a sea view because the trees were in leaf! Slightly distant from Central Stockholm, but the boat trip in from Nacka Strand is easy and lovely in summer season. Lovely, copious breakfast buffet. Outdoor summer seating and bar are very pleasant. Would definitely stay again.

Overall a very nice experience from a hotel in a fantastic location! I recommend you upgrade to a room with seaview for full experience! Easy to travel to Stockholm city - by small commuter ferry. Breakfast was of very high quality before quantity. The scrambled eggs were genuin and not prefabricated. It was a pity the hotel didn't offer room service and that the mini bar was empty, although you could buy from the reception in another building. Also, the cleaning was not "spot less". But OK clean. The beds and pillows and bedl linen were, I believe, one of the most comfortable I have ever enjoyed and I slept like a baby during my 2 nights' stay! And I will return to this hotel, always good to know!

The hotel and the staff really make you feel like home. The breakfast is excellent, Restaurant J has the best seafood in town, the view is magnificent, even coming for work but I feel coming for holiday.

Amazing views, close to ferries right into Stockholm. Calm and relaxing place. However, we were letdown by some details in our hotel room. We stayed at a premium sea-view room with its own terrace. Beautiful. Then discovered broken shards of some cup on the floor. Next, broken furniture. A chair, a foot stool and curtains. Fortunately the service was great and replaced the stool. They also compensated us with some glasses of wine down at the bar. To summarize: Amazing views, great service but a lack of attention to details in the room. I am sure they will take care of this as the reception appreciated our feedback.

The location was stunning and was great to get around via the ferry which was a pleasant journey. The customer service was lacking as when we arrived we were told they had a problem with the booking and were offered to stay in a sister hotel for the first night we arrived, we said we rather not move but were to be put in a room that wasn't as nice as the one we booked and paid for, but when we asked if we would get a discount for the difference, we were then told that they had a room and it was no problem. This was very strange, we checked in and then noticed that it wasn't really a sea view and not the King Bed that we booked. We asked at the reception and was told that yes they made a mistake and would move us to our correct room the next morning from 3pm. We weren't offered anything for the mistake that they had made. Also at checkout was told we needed to settle a bill for the tickets we booked, but we already paid by cash on the day. Other than that the breakfast was nice, and the room that we finally did get had a lovely view.

J hotel is so unique in its setting, so relaxing... beautiful and inviting, the surrounding of the hotel is breathtaking, the scenery will make you not want to leave. I just want to sit there and watch the boats go by all day. Just beautiful. The staff are nice, welcoming and helpful. My room has this most breathtaking views is perfect! Clean. The location for me is perfect you can go to the city enjoy, but then come back to this gem and relax.

Hotel J is an amazing property located in the Stockholm suburb of Nacka Strand. It sports stunning views of the Baltic Sea and is situated perfectly to take in incredible views of the setting sun. Your stay includes a wonderful breakfast spread every morning. This is no “continental breakfast” but is a full meal. The breads and pastries are my favorite but there are bacon and eggs, fruits, pancakes and so much more. The only practical way to get to Stockholm proper is via a 40-45 minute ferry ride, and the ferries are often an hour apart, so you will have to plan your day accordingly. The front desk has a list of departure times and it is way easier to understand than the confusing schedule board found at the ferry. The last ferry runs at about 6-7 PM, so if you miss it you will be forced to make a 340 SKR (about $34) taxi ride back. It is worth keeping an eye on the time. The ferries have a bad habit of leaving a couple minutes early, especially late in the day. Tickets for a one time ferry ride can be purchased at the hotel front desk, but if you are staying a little longer it is worth the walk up the hill to go to the convince store and buy an unlimited pass (good for 3 days or 7 days.) Inexplicably you can not buy tickets at any ferry terminal or on the boat. The service is excellent at the hotel and the front desk even made me a sandwich when I had to leave early for a flight. Nice touch Also way worth upgrading to the 5th floor with the views. Incredible!
