This was our first time to Kauai, so we really weren't sure what to expect. Family of 6, ages from 4 - 16, and the 2 rooms and sofa bed were cozy enough for us all to be comfortable. Kitchen was well supplied with cooking utensils, there were beach chairs and toys for the kids, and large smart TV's in each room. A/C worked great! The place is centrally located on the island so it is convenient to get to both the North and South shores. There are many shops and food spots within walking distance. Great 3rd floor view of the ocean and easy to keep an eye on the kids at the beach below the balcony. Cool walking/bike path directly behind the property that gives convenient access to the snorkeling spot at Lydgate and the old town shops/food. Would definitely stay here again in the future! Donna was great, and was always available if needed!

Clean, comfortable, property with excellent views and quiet location. Would recommend to friends and would definitely stay here again! Sitting on the lanai for morning coffee and evening cocktails is dreamy!

Loved our stay! Property was perfect for what we needed. Can't get a better view. Lots of shops and restaurants close by. 15 min from airport. Short drive to several falls and several amazing excursions. North shore and south shore half hr drive... Go to both! The host, Donna is very available with quick communication to take care of whatever needs may arise. Very comfortable and quiet (except for the roosters in the morning haha, but we loved that too!) Property has everything you need - even air conditioning! Will miss watching the sunrises from our deck. Overall - Perfect! Thankyou Donna!

My husband, myself, and our two friends booked this property for our anniversaries and we were not disappointed! The views from the living room and lanai were impeccable! You have a front row seat to Kauai sunrises. The AC’s in the bedrooms worked super well but the living room had a hard time keeping up understandably. I also appreciated a well stocked kitchen! There have been times where I have had to purchase things like a wine opener for a VRBO, and this did not happen with this property. We had one issue while staying and the host was incredibly quick to respond and get the issue resolved ASAP. This was much appreciated!!! I would most definitely recommend this property.

Our family just finished our stay in Kapaa. The condo is on the third floor and gets a constant ocean breeze all day. The condo is well stocked with all essentials for the kitchen and the beach. Also, the bedrooms were very spacious for our family of four. Having 2 full baths was also very convenient. The roof was being replaced the week we were at the condo. The owner found this out after we had booked the place and immediately messaged us that we could cancel our vacation or they could rent the condo to us for half the price for the 2 days it would affect us as a compensation for the inconvenience. We found that very honest and considerate. We decided not to change our plans. The only reason to give it 4 stars is that the AC unit in the living room makes a very annoying sound for a loooong time even when off! This would happen in the middle of the night as well! Other than that, the sunrise every morning was as best as it could be from any similar beach place of stay. We got spectacular photos from the condo as well as from the very worthwhile path right in front of the condo running for 8-10 miles. Would absolutely rent again if the AC unit is fixed.

This property had the most gorgeous view; it was the best place we've ever stayed at in Kauai, and I've been going my entire life. A fantastic view, very walkable to nearby restaurants, and quite and peaceful. We can't wait to return!

The view is gorgeous but there is not a stretch of beach in front of the walkway path.There is grass and then a lava wall so the photo is slightly deceptive. The condo was clean but the furniture in the living room is old, dirty, and very uncomfortable. The beds we’re comfortable. The A/C in the living room was broken and made horrible noise. They wanted to come into the condo during our week to fix it but it should have already been addressed. The kitchen is well-stocked and the beach chairs, boogie boards were great. We had usage of the pool and grounds. The location was perfect as well. I would have liked a better coffee maker in the kitchen for this price. Also, we needed more paper towels, toilet paper, and had to buy soap. The patio furniture is very uncomfortable and it would have been nice to have a lawn lounger as the other units had.

We loved our stay in A308. The rise of the sun on our deck was a great start to the day. We could watch the grandkids coming down the prom out front while enjoying our coffee. The kitchen was well appointed, the beach chairs, towels, cooler and umbrellas an added bonus. Some maintenance issues need attention, especially the air conditioner in the main room. But overall - a great experience and would gladly return. Thank you.

This property is absolutely amazing. I couldn't imagine rating this place with anything other than a perfect 5. It's administered differently than any other VRBO property that I've rented. When you stay here, you're part of a resort with access to all sorts of exclusive amenities (pool, fitness area, etc.). You actually have to check-in like a hotel, and the staff here are super friendly and accommodating. This place isn't in the vicinity of the beach - - it's ON the beach. The sunrises each morning were spectacular. Drinking coffee on the back patio each morning, overlooking the Pacific, while listening to the waves crashing on the beach - - - pure therapy. And, everything inside the condo was first class. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped. The whole place was spotless and everything appeared brand new. The only item that may have had a few years on it was the sofa, but it was very clean and plenty comfortable enough. I read other reviews about certain things needing updating, but I didn't see any such thing. Maybe updates were made before my stay. And, this place has a great A/C system (which is VERY rare for Hawaii), so we slept cool and comfortable at night. The location is perfect for touring the island and there are plenty of good food and shopping options in the vicinity. I've stayed in many vacation rentals over the years, but this is honestly the nicest place that I've ever rented. It far exceeded my expectations.

The property is lovely, the unit has a five star view. Easy access to town. We enjoyed the oceanfront walking/biking path on our last trip to Kauai and because of it decided to stay in Kapa’a on this trip. The unit is well equipped, very clean, and we were delighted to find comfy beach chairs, an umbrella and cooler, and beach towels in the closet.

This was a perfect location to do anything fun in Kauai. We rode for 10 miles on the bike bath on Kapaa Beach and it kept going. (Make sure to ride to the tree tunnel!!) We rode in helicopters, rappelled off of waterfalls, and did the Smith's Luau and these were all withing 30 minutes of this place. You literally have your own beach downstairs too. Beds were super comfy too. You also get all the amenities of a super nice Pono Kai Resort. Tons of things for kids and teens to do! If you were to rent this room from the resort, it would be very expensive. Donna was very nice, as well and let us check in early. Life saver!

The view is great, the beach only feet away, with a several mile long path to walk along the coast. With an updated kitchen and bathrooms it would be 5 stars.

The unit looks exactly like the photos and has a beautiful view! We swam at the beach, and even saw a manta ray in the water from the balcony. We were up every morning to view the sunrise, right from the lanai. The hammocks were so relaxing to lie in, and exploring the grounds we saw there is so much to do, like croquet, shuffle board, giant chess, and even horse shoes. We appreciated the beach chairs and used them several times. The individual air conditioning was great in the bedrooms for sleeping. Being close to Kapa’a we could walk into town to shop and eat. Perfect when you don’t feel like cooking! We went south and north from here, which made it the best location if you want to stay in one place. I hope to come back some day as I miss it already! This location was perfect. We could walk to town and the beach couldn’t be any closer. Morning sunrise was right off the balcony which made for amazing mornings. The place was clean and had all the amenities for a perfect vacation. The kitchen was well stocked and there was beach chairs, a cooler, and towels for our use. The property was well maintained and convenient to north side, south side, and the airport. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else

Property grounds were very nice. Check in was easy. We had a perfect view of the sunrise from our lanai. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds. Nice central location. The unit was not very clean. A lot of dust on fixtures, dirty backsplash in kitchen and lanai had food on the floor. Bathrooms were clean however. The biggest issue we had was the couch. Very lumpy and uncomfortable, it also smelled terrible, so our evenings in were a bit uncomfortable. We sat in the dining room chairs. Overall our stay was wonderful, how could it not be in Kauai Would definitely stay at the resort again, just a different unit.

We were amazed by the view from the balcony and the easy walking access to town. The unit is simple and open and well appointed with kitchen utensils etc. It's a bit dated but we weren't looking for anything fancy. The Manager and owner were great to deal with and very reasonable with our initial concerns about cleanliness. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the resort itself. The gym was small, ill equipped and filthy. The pool was small and always packed so we never use it. The front end staff at reception were borderline rude and unaccommodating depending who was on shift. We will not be coming back to Pono Kai.

The location of the property is perfect, right on the ocean. The host has excellent communication and gave us a few recommendations in Kapaa. For the price point, I do think some of the furniture could be updated. But the beds were very comfy and we had a great time.

This property was perfect for our visit to Kauai! The view is spectacular! The grounds of the resort are immaculate. It is centrally located on the island which works out well if you are sightseeing. We were able to walk to restaurants and shops. AC was very nice to have. There are beach chairs, towels, and a cooler available, which we used every day. Yes, a few things could be updated, but we were overall very satisfied! Would highly recommend!

We stayed at this unit for over a week. We enjoyed amenities this complex has to offer - especially exciting for kids. Amazing ocean view and close to a long pathway along the ocean. Close to restaurants and grocery stores.

Everything is as advertised, well equipped, comfortable and covered seating area on lanai. Move in readily, pack your toothbrush and a few groceries and you’re set up! We enjoyed this condo and without hesitation we’d stay again and again if we had the opportunity!

Donna/host was easy to communicate with, answered all questions promptly. The condo is centrally located in Kapaa, getting to different events and beaches was so easy. Condo has elevator, makes it nice on the older folks, 3rd floor with GORGEOUS oceanfront view. We enjoyed several meals on the lanai people watching and sunrises.
