The perfect house for a family trip to Door County. Every detail was thought through for and enjoyable stay. The kids (4 & 1) had a blast as well.

The house is outside of Bailey's Harbor, on the shore of Kangaroo Lake. We enjoyed the kayaks and paddleboards, the game room, and the fire pit where we made s'mores in the evening. It's about 5 minutes into town, and 20 minutes or less to most of the communities north of Sturgeon Bay - very centrally located. The cherries were ripe when we visited, and we had a delicious cherry pie!

This house was extremely clean and well taken care of. The house was well equipped with everything you could think of, including all the starters that you need (toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap…). The hosts were very friendly and easy to communicate with. I’d recommend this property to anyone interested.

The Chicory Lake House far exceeded all of our expectations (which were set high as this was our first true family vacation)! I cannot say enough about this beautiful house on the lake and how wonderful Jennifer was in her communication. The house is perfectly located right on Kangaroo Lake with privacy yet in close driving distance to anywhere you want to visit. We were immediately relaxed when we drove up and entered the house. Every detail from the colors to the furnishings to the layout both inside and out has been lovingly thought through as well as every amenity you may possibly need. One of our many highlights was kayaking as a family every night. It was so convenient to put five kayaks in the water at the dock and then paddle out on the quiet lake (we basically had the lake to ourselves). We used the fire pit every night with the comfortable chairs and thoughtful smores kit, as well as spent time in the game garage playing so many different games. Inside the bedrooms were perfect for our family and the bathrooms were beautiful. Everything was SO clean and comfortable. On top of all this, Jennifer was a truly wonderful host. From her pre-stay communication and list of recommended restaurants and attractions (she put a lot of thought into the lists) to her immediate responses during our stay. You can absolutely tell that they love providing this special house on the lake for you to make your own memories. We can't wait to visit again!

Our stay at this property was outstanding. The cleanliness and attention to detail that Jennifer has in order to ensure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable is truly unmatched. This location is a perfect place for a family vacation to Door County, whether you want to explore the area or just enjoy the lake and the outdoors.

We stayed in this beautiful home for 4 nights. We have rented our fair share of vacation homes and this was our favorite one yet. The details and information provided by Jennifer were so beyond helpful and thoughtful; including a pre-trip information document with check-in information and a huge binder once you arrive full of information on the house, where to find things, amenities, recommendations for all around door county, and the little personal insights from Jennifer were so awesome. We used the recommendations list everyday for food/coffee spots. The house is beautiful and you can tell so much love and care went into all of the details when it was renovated (and insanely clean!) The landscaping and outdoors was also wonderful and our one year old loved running around. We couldn’t have asked for a better vacation spot on our first family vacation with our little guy. Thank you to Jennifer for everything and we hope to be back soon!

This year, our family decided to get away for Thanksgiving at the last minute, and we chose one of our favorite spots in Wisconsin...Door County. Jennifer quickly replied to my request and was great at communicating. This was evident in her emails and her detailed, thoughtful, personal welcome/informational binder at the home. We loved our stay at Chicory! You can tell that the owners have put their heart and soul into the property. It was immaculate, tastefully and serenely decorated, and very well stocked. The location was perfect for us, and it was an easy and beautiful drive to other parts of DC. The game room is a fun bonus that our entire family enjoyed. Watching the sunrise over the lake while enjoying coffee and being warmed by the fireplace was delightful. We made a lot of good memories at the Chicory Lake House; it was the perfect respite for our family during this Thanksgiving season. Thank you for sharing your lovely home!
