A solo traveler not part of a cruise I lucked out in grabbing a few nights. This is a charming property close to the park with many buildings, restaurants and shops, it’s own friendly community. My room, though not huge, was quite nice, decorated with a local flair. In the main lodge the entrance area is very large and attractive with a lot of seating as it serves as the waiting area for the billions of busses and vans that pour through from the park, outside tour companies, and those of Princess. A machine, and a tad humorous, the tours typically are announced over the speaker, all extremely organized. Princess also has shuttles to the park every 30 minutes, which were great, the friendly drivers often offering suggestions, including for restaurants.
Across the quiet highway are restaurants, eateries, excursion companies, and shops.
Travelling extremely far to get to Denali, if able to grab one of the quality resorts close to the park (there are only a few) it’s well worth it.

We were mostly very happy. We didn't know we wouldn't be able to park near our room. Parking is only up by the main lodge even though we had a handicap sign. There is a shuttle that circles the property but at least twice it didn't arrive on schedule. We had to walk all the way up the hill w all of our luggage. 30 mins later the woman finally arrived as we reached the top. The restaurants were good but expensive as everything is in Alaska. We appreciated the free shuttle to Denali.

It was a beautiful setting and room very comfortable and clean

What else should we expect from Princess? Hotel, services, excursion options are plentiful. I absolutely recommend this hotel.

Paid for a double queen room and they put us in a double bed room!!! Because we were leaving after 1 day they never compensated us. Poor customer service. Sheets wouldn’t stay on the bed and fan in the room made a terrible sound so couldn’t use it. Horrible experience

I had booked a room with two beds but when we arrived they only had a room with one bed and they would not change our room, claiming that booking through Hotels.com does not grantee a bed configuration which was a surprise. We were then guided to use the fold out couch bed and when we opened it there were mouse dripping on the underside of the mattress, I have attached a picture for your review. I don’t know who to blame for the bed issue but I am hesitant to use your site to book rooms the cleanliness is on the Denali Princess either was I am an unhappy customer

Do not stay here unless you are part of the Princess Cruise. They would not allow us to unload our suitcases under the canopy in the pouring rain. We were told that buses were coming in and that it was for presentation purposes. We had to walk to our room in the pouring rain with our luggage. There is a shuttle, but they only take people not luggage. The room itself was outdated. Not worth the outrageous price. They cater to the cruise line passengers, not all paying guests.

When we arrived at the hotel, the hotel was closed. We received no phone calls or notifications. Apparently, it was caused by a fire at Denali national park but a text or email would have been appreciated.

Perfect for what was needed. Parking wasn’t great, and the rooms could use ceiling fans to better circulate the air since you can open the windows but need to keep the curtains closed so not a lot of moving air.

Good priced property, long lines and limited cat service

Convenient to access to Denali National Park.

One night stay. Check in went well, receptionist was nice. Room was clean. Bed was ok maybe a little too firm for me. No fridge or microwave.

We stayed in the Wilderness and in the Denali Properties. 2 nights each. The Wilderness lodge accommodation was very good. But no room Service!! The food was poor quality as was also with the Seven Day cruise prior to our staying (from Vancouver). Fire all your chefs!! The Service of the restaurants was excellent.
The Denali hotel room P104 was very old. Again no room service.

Beautiful property. Very well maintained. Rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Highly recommend Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge to anyone staying in the area. We stayed in a room with two queen beds, a set of bunk beds, a full living room, and very spacious bathroom. Highly recommend to ask for a room like it if traveling with kids or a family. The bunk beds are large and very strong.

Not great for the price

We were staying at the property after taking the Alaskan railroad. Most of the guests are part of the Princess cruises. We were not. Although the staff was very kind, nobody really knew what to tell us about our luggage and getting it to the train station. We asked eight people and got eight different answers!

We stayed here while we enjoyed Denali. It is a good landing spot to visit the park and the activities surrounding it. Just be aware that this is also a cruise land tour spot so there will be moments of crowds entering and exiting.

Beautiful place with lots of gift shops and dining and the views are wonderful!

This was a gift for my daughter and she was very impressed. She loved all the little shops and being able to walk to everything. Very quaint.

Rule #1 in a hotel is for staff to respect the “do not disturb” sign when it is hung on the door. Yet this is exactly what the ignored with the maid knocking multiple times and then entering. Yes - I double checked and she had been knocking right on top of the bright red do not disturb sign.
Complained about this at the front desk - was pointed to fill out a complaint form on paper and put in their box. No excuse, no nothing, from 3 people at the front desk who all gave the impression that they did not care about this complaint.

First class accommodations and exceptional customer. Service. I highly recommend this resort.

I don't think we would stay here again. They were nice for the most part. But you could tell that they cater to the cruise ship mostly. But that prob brings in the cash. The accommodation was ok, could use some updates. Most employees were friendly. Some were helpful. But it is a seasonal location.

The property is really big. I wasn’t expecting to walk so much to reach my room. But otherwise, it was really nice.

Beautiful hotel I just loved it

Clean room, though space might be a bit tight. Great walkable grounds with great views. Dining selections are limited. No included breakfast. However, the $23 buffet breakfast (drink included) at Fanny Q's is great. The hours (5 to 9). however, are a bit inconvenient if you plan to get up late.

We had a nice get away weekend as a couple at the Denali Princess. The staff were attentive and helpful, and the property was clean and well maintained. The mattress and pillows were firmer than our personal taste, but not unbearable. The property is definitely geared towards serving their cruise ship vacation clients, but they took care of our needs quite well also.

Customer service team members are either clueless or outright rude. A request for a printed statement took two different persons over ten minutes to produce. We were trying to load luggages into our rental car at the curb, a doorlady, Carol, chased us away. We were at least 50 feet away from the nearest door and weren't in anybody's way. Basically the loading area was empty and the morning rush to Denali National Park and excursions was over. Is this how she treat paying customers once the transaction is over?

Property was nice, when wanting to extend stay by a night they wanted an absurd amount of money for the night. Spoke to front desk and even the front desk employee was shocked at price I was quoted by 800 number. They said they weren’t able to change price. Decided to check out and go elsewhere for the second night

The whole experience was not great and very inconvenient. You can’t park your car in front of your building, no microwave, no fridge and restaurants are very limited.

How friendly the staff was.

It’s a great place to stay for people visiting Denali National park. It’s a mile away from this hotel and shuttle service is available for pick up and drop. Only issue it’s a very big resort and if you’re not in cruise travel it’s difficult to carry the luggage to the the room assigned. Have to wait for the shuttle to transport within inside the resort. The river behind the resort is amazing view.

We had deluxe room. Not sure what was “deluxe”. Limited TV and noisy hall. No elevator. No bread in restaurants. Overpriced menu items. Long line for coffee in the morning. Had to change my key four times over four nights. King Salmon restaurant very good. All staff friendly. Beautiful lobby.

Better than expected

The hotel is geared towards cruise ship passengers travelling as part of the Princess Cruises Line. All services and amenities are prioritized towards them. If you're staying as a private guest, do not expect the staff to know the answers to any of your questions or expect prompt service. As an example, when we had a clogged toilet, it took 6 hours and multiple phonecalls to get someone to help clear it.
It's not like you have a huge choice as to where to stay when visiting Denali, but unless you're coming as part of a cruise, know what you're getting into when staying at the Denali Princess Lodge.
