A very comfortable bnb

Our hostess was very conscious of our dietary needs and all the food was expertly cooked and served. The strawberries a special treat. She made us feel welcome and well cared for.

Very clean room. Very welcome and i would definitely recommend it to anyone 😀

Everything was lovely. Very convenient to centre of town. Very warm welcome, excellent breakfast, very quiet room, lovely fittings. Very helpful friendly host.

I really enjoyed my short stay at Cornerways, quiet, clean and comfortable with an excellent breakfast served with a smile. Very close to the centre and I felt that I was very much welcome as a visitor to this high standard B&B. I hope to return. Many thanks.

Really enjoyed our stay, host was very friendly and personable, the bed very comfortable and the breakfast tasty.

Cornerways is a very nice guest house. The welcome by the owner was warm and friendly. The house is well situated near the town centre (10-15 minutes walk). It is easy to find. The parking is in the street. There are many streets where you can park not far from the house. When you check in, the owner will give you a parking permit to put on your car dashboard. The room was nice and clean. There was everything we needed. Both room and bathroom had been redecorated not long ago so it was very pleasant. Breakfast was good. The owner is very friendly and ready to help. Many restaurants are in Warwick road (about 8 minutes walk from the house.

Superb location & only a few minutes walk to some really nice bars & restaurants. Plenty of on street parking with parking permit supplied by the host. Great host, very welcoming & a lovely breakfast with a vast array of choice from light options to the full English. Will be staying again.

Arrived a little frazzled, soon felt at ease provided with parking permit and settled in room. Room was big , spotless and quiet. Fab for a city break to Carlisle only a short walk. Try the nearby Greek restaurant Alexandros it's delicious. Would be happy to stay here again if in Carlisle

Everything about my stay was perfect. I was greeted very warmly on arrival by the owner, Adele. The room looked recently-decorated and was extremely comfortable. I loved the extra little touches, such as the jar of cookies on the tea tray and the cotton wool balls in the bathroom. Adele went out of her way to make sure that I had something for breakfast before I left for work,I was truly touched. I will definitely return.

Unfortunate stay at this hotel. Arived at hotel to find part of the building was without electricity, as a result we did not get the room we booked. We were provided an alternative room. The room included breakfast. We went down for breakfast the following day, the owner was not at the premises and apologized in a note pinned to the door that no breakfast would be available and that we would be provided some compensation for this and the lesser value room. We had to leave and buy our own breakfast. We did not receive any reimbursement from the owner. The issue was taken up by hotels.com and the owner has refused any compensation, matter closed. So the low score reflects the dishonesty we received from the owner and the disappointment in Hotels.com for giving up easily. The low score from myself will hopefully bring down slightly the overall score for Cornerways as we personally don't believe this establishment deserve it's 9.5 rating. If we'd have got the money back on the breakfest, would have been quite content and got over it. As we got nothing and have had to go to the trouble of chasing it, then we've done all that's left for us to do and let anyone who cares to read this our poor experience.

Great host and very comfortable accommodation. Good quality produce for breakfast within a lovely dining area. Cannot fault the place at all.

Personal service from owner ,nothing was too much trouble for her, she is very hardworking and pleasant manner. Some of the period furnishings and decor made for a very interesting stay.
