Compass Point is situated in a truly stunning location. We were able to to seamlessly ease into vacation mode as soon as we arrived. This cottage has everything you need so that you do not need to worry about running out to the store. In the morning, we enjoyed coffee on the deck watching loons, arctic terns, and eagles. The propane hookup allowed us to cook our own lobsters, which we enjoyed at the picnic table with a breathtaking view. The evening involved star gazing and s'mores at the firepit. We enjoyed all the amenities and will be back! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

We had the most amazing stay at Compass Point- probably one of the nicest locations we have even seen. If you are looking for a spectacular view, clean, well-appointed cottage this is for you! My children loved the property, we saw tons of birds and the vistas are just incredible. This location is about 60ish minutes from the main Acadia park, however it's close to Schoodic which is a lesser visited but gorgeous part of Acadia. The main park is still easily drivable. We went to Bar Harbor and we were SO happy that we picked a spot that was out of the crowded areas. It was like being in our own private park. The hosts even left some little snacks for the kids and everything we needed for a s'mores bonfire. It was East Coast perfection!! Definitely recommend. We will be back.

My family stayed here for a couple days while touring UMaine campus. This cottage is great... very nice inside with personal touches and right on the Atlantic ocean. We really enjoyed the bonfire and star gazing platform. We will visit again!

We had an awesome time at Compass Point. The owners promptly answered our questions before we arrived. The house is only a few miles from the Schoodick Peninsula and we were able to ride our bikes. We absolutely loved the location, about an hour north of Acadia. We enjoyed the oceanside firepit and the astronomy platform. We saw the Milky Way and a shooting star! The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. We would love to come back.

We just got back from a great family vacation at Compass Point. It was perfect for our family of 4- cozy and so thoughtfully appointed. Being on the water was incredible- my kids climbed all over the rocks and found crabs and other tide pool critters and we enjoyed wine and sunsets on the deck. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. It's definitely on the "quiet side" so you may want to bring some provisions, but it was also nice to be away from crowds in MDI. It is a special place and we hope to return.

Our stay was an absolute dream. There is no details that our incredible hosts didn't think of....first of all the home, is perfectly situated. Every morning we woke up to views of the water, the sounds of the birds, and the beauty of the landscape. We even limited what we ended up doing in the area, just so we could experience the sunsets here.
The home is well, perfect. The details to the build are so precise and beautiful. The rooms were perfect for our family and so comfortable. We loved the stargazing area at the top of the hill. It just added more magic. The kitchen has everything you need to make meals. Alice was amazing to communicate with both before our arrival and during!! I love the book the hosts left for us, to review places to stay and all the details. The love and care they put into our visit was absolutely incredible.
We are already planning when we can come back. It was just so good. My only regret was not booking our stay longer. It really made coming back to NYC a challenge, after being in such an incredibly perfect area. Thank you for everything!!

It is hard to describe in words how beautiful, clean and well maintained the Compass Point Cottage is! If you are looking for quiet, privacy and nature, this is the place to stay. The water view is incredible and the the ability to sit around the fire and take it all in is spectacular. If that is not enough, there is a star gazing platform located just above the property before the driveway slopes down to the cottage.
Our only complaint is that we only booked 2 nights and we should have stayed longer!! The amenities are first class and you can tell a great deal of thought went into making sure that Compass Point has everything you need for a great getaway to Acadia...

This was our first trip to Maine, and we were blown away by the beauty, but even more with these stunning accommodations. Everything was just as described and communication was seamless. This property is about 45 minutes from Bar Harbor, but so worth the drive. My family and I enjoyed the star gazing deck and loved the fire pit right on the water. There was a view from every window. I would definitely stay there again and I will be back.

Every single part of our stay was perfect!! Our host was kind, warm, accessible and so kind!! The house itself had such attention to detail for hospitality. The fire pit, the chairs, the blankets, it was all so perfect! The only thing I wish I could change would have been to make my stay MUCH longer. Highly recommend this place! P.S. if you stay here check out the Fisherman’s Wharf for great fresh caught seafood!

The property was better than advertised. The owners were not only lovely but also offered local suggestions to make our vacation even more memorable! I couldn’t ask for a better experience and would strongly recommend to anyone staying in the area!
