Great location and fantastic accommodation. Very well equipped with everything we needed. Wood burning stove was ready to light and a Christmas tree was up which was a lovely touch! Just wish we had booked a longer stay!

Shower wasn't working

The cottage is wonderfully cozy and suits us perfectly for the one nights stay. The only thing that concerns us is the lack of security for the dogs in the garden, (this is not the fault of the owners at all) but for one night and well behaved dogs, the grass verge in front is adequate, we were early this time, (second visit) we found the Monsal trial literally across the rd which was absolutely stunning and perfect to exercise them after the long journey from Surrey, it’s a round robin so well worth it to tire them out and have a peaceful night in front of the new log burner which is absolutely brilliant. The beds are super comfy and the bathroom perfectly adequate. The kitchen provides everything you need, we imagine for a longer stays everything you need is there.

It’s not a criticism as such, but we like to read, a lower table lamp in the sitting room with the Log burner, would provide better lighting enabling one to read, the standard lights where not bright enough, with overhead room lighting disrupting the relaxing ambiance of the firelight setting.

This is a beautiful cottage, comfortable, well equipped, and warm. The beds are comfy, and the whole place is clean. It is situated opposite a river and a few minutes walk to the pub. There are walks that can be taken from the doorstep, and the Monsal trail cafe is just up the road. Will definitely return. The owners are helpful and respond quickly to any queries, keen to offer information.

Amazing kitchen, lovely and cosy room with log burner

Lovely warm and welcoming stay. The beds were extremely comfortable and the cottage is lovely and clean.

The location of the cottage meant we had no signal at all. Luckily I managed to connect to the wi fi in order to arrange a lift on departure. However after arranging the lift the postcode took the driver to a complete different location and it was a nightmare to locate us. I had to keep standing outside the property so I didn't loose connection with the wi fi. That way able to send the what 3 words app and code to the driver which helped them locate us... Eventually! Parking outside the property is not great as it's in a bendy fast road. You have to walk further up which means you loose connection from the wi fi. So if you need a lift/taxi then make sure you do it whilst in the property.

Very nice and spacious. It is walking distance from a pub (unfortunately along a road without walkway, but we thought it was fine), a short drive to the closest supermarket, and conveniently located to get more or less anywhere in the Peak District.
