We were literally minutes from everything (shopping, restaurants, entertainment) not too mention on the beach and the private pool. Chair and umbrellas were placed on the beach for us and this made us feel special. Loved it and will definitely rent here again...soon I hope.

our intial impresion was the house wasnt a clean as we had hoped as there was some crumbs of some sort around the kitchen trash can, debris around base boards, mold in the master shower and the washer wouldnt spin so doing laundry was impossible. the first day we got there i notice a terrible chorine smell coming from the pool after the grandbabaies had been swimming a few minutes and since im a pool builder i happened to have test strips in my truck so i tested..holy cow what a mess...so i borrowed a hose from the neighbors next door and proceed to dilute the dangerous levels of chlorine and highly acidic water my grandchildren had already been swimming in for about 30 minutes...but it was too late for my grandson's bleached hair..it turned green and snotty...good thing we got that hose cause water was pouring from the heater as well...it was losing a ton of water!!!! needless to say 2 days lost in the pool try to get it corrected but i was able to get the chemicals to a safe level. we had a mouse coming in nightly enjoying our countertop foods...but we purchased a device and he was quickly terminated. the 3rd floor bed which is where my husband and i slept and it was supposed to be some sorta air bed...well we could never figure out how to work it even with the directions so we took turns sleeping on the center hump...cause the sides were dipped in and were absolutely miserable. furnishings were pretty shabby and worn out and could use some cleaning....but like i said .........its a house on the beach. we made the most of it but we most likely would Not go back.

The house was phenomenal and exactly what we were wanting. We went with our family with 3 children 5, 2, 1 ages. Family friends with a 10 year old, and another couple without children . The view was great to wake up to every morning. The beach was fantastic and very easy to get to with our small children. The 6 chairs set up worked out great, we never had any issues with people trying to take them. The area was not over crowded and we didn’t have to bring barely anything to the beach as we could just walk back to the house as needed. Very much a win for our family’s needs. The air conditioner quit working one night in the master second floor suite while we were staying. But the company was very responsive and the next day someone was out promptly to fix it. We did sleep in the other room for the night, but we were very thankful it was just that room. I will warn blondes though that the pool did turn two of our hair blue… I had only been in the pool 30 minutes and showered immediately after. It did end up washing out after a little over a week, but I only was in the pool one day. One of the kids with us hair took longer as she was in the pool much more throughout our trip. Most likely a certain chemical they are using in the pool. I’ve been a blonde a long time and never had that happen before. I did not tell anyone as I didn’t think it was something to really stress to them, I just didn’t put my hair back in the pool. Overall would definitely recommend Serenity Shores, and rent the place in the future.

Love this property!!! very nice and clean. Balcony view is awesome of the beach /ocean. Everything close by shopping, restaurant, and activities for the family/kids. Would stay at the Sterling Shores again and suggest to more family and friends.

- Handprint on wall just above headboard in small bedroom. - Balcony doors don’t lock. If you are worried about safety and security this might not be the best option. I found wood boards-presumably from shelves-that I used to jam the doors at night-this really only worked for the bedroom balcony door bc the main balcony door could still be opened and walked through even with these boards in place - No CO2 detector as advertised. If you are concerned, bring your own. - Bag of trash and previous renters or owners medications in shelf in laundry room) - Bleach or peroxide stains on quilt in small bedroom - More than an inch of visible dust and debris on top of and wrapped to underside if each ceiling fan blade (who wants this blowing on their face and respiratory tract while trying to sleep at night?) and on top of picture frame in hall bath. - Mold on bathroom ceilings-having lived in FL and MS both on the coast and same environment, I know this is completely avoidable with proper cleaning. - Leaky ceiling in hall bath shower - Although the fine print does say this, I have never rented a condo, hotel, house, etc from any source where the TP and garbage bags are not provided. Who goes on vacation and goes shopping to buy these things? The half roll of TP that was left in the bathroom when we got there was one-ply sandpaper. - Blowup mattress available but without plug or pump to inflate. - Previous renter sock under dresser. Obvious lack of cleaning All that to say, we did not spend much time in condo and still very much enjoyed our vacation

We usually stay in Destiny East through VRBO but thought we would give this a chance even though it cost more money than we are used to paying. Many things about the house lived up to the expectations but I was very disappointed about the way the management company handled a situation we had while trying to enjoy our relaxing summer vacation. The house has a rat or family of rats living in it. The rodent was both seen as well left lots of evidence of its presence. It helped its self to many of the groceries purchased and left a mess each day that had to be cleaned up. When I called, twice, I was told that maintenance came by to put poison outside the property. I’m not sure when they had done that since we were at the property the entire day and NEVER saw anyone except the lady to clean the pool on Wednesday. Please consider how un-nerving it was to be dealing with a rat or family of rats while on vacation.

Reviewer Comments: Let me start with the positives: the house is conveniently located, it is right on the beach, the fact that it has a pool is great when you have children with you, the staff at Destin Getaways are all friendly, professional and responsive. The house itself is not worth the rent. At 15,000 per week I expect a well-maintained, immaculately clean house. Serenity Shores is way past due for an update. The house is generally in sound condition, however, it is quite worn and verges on shabby. There is a garage but no opener. The HVAC works but in a very uneven fashion with some areas cold and others hot at the same time. The living room furniture needs to be taken away. The house is also near (1 house away) a beach access for another development thereby leading to very crowded conditions. Six chairs and 3 umbrellas are generously included with the rental. We had to inform strangers every day that those were for our use even though they are clearly marked "For Serenity Shore Guests Only" with one party refusing to move. I'll reiterate that Destin Getaways was a fine company to do business with but I wouldn't rent Serenity Shores again in its current condition and I couldn't recommend it to anyone.

Perfect location for our family, we utilized the pool and balcony and beach the most. The bathrooms were disappointing. A few upgrades and they could be really nice. The kitchen was lacking key items like hot pads, trash bags, and other items you’d need if you’re staying for a week. We flew so that limits what you can bring. Had some communication issues with early check in, which I see from other reviews is a common trend. I’d come back to Sterling Shores, but look at other condo options first.

This resort is beautiful! It’s clean, comfortable, close to plenty of shopping, movie theater, restaurants, and so much more! The pools and landscape are beautiful. It’s convenient and only steps to the beach. This condo was perfect for our large family.

However, when it came to the kitchen utensils and pans, I was really dissatisfied. Everything was dirty that I picked up. The pans were dented and overused. The one pan has greased cakes on the bottom which wouldn’t have been safe for an electric stove. The one pan had left over eggs in it as well. I ended up having to clean everything before I cooked on it.

There is a beautiful view of the gulf from the balcony and the owner provides comfortable chairs so we were able to sit out there and enjoy the view. We frequently ate breakfast at the balcony table - a great way to start any day. The unit was clean with plenty space for our group. I was amazed by how quiet the suite is, little to no noise from neighbors. The kitchen had all of the appliances and most of the items we needed to cook. It would have been nice to have a few basic spices. We spent most days on the beach - convenient umbrella and chair rental available. We ate at Dewey Destins on Calhoun Ave - excellent local place and Mimmo's Italian Restaurant, another great meal. A friend recommended the key lime pie from Publix and it was amazing!

We really enjoy the Sterling Shores location and amenities as well as the great views from most any location. There are numerous snowbird activities available and interesting day trips to keep you entertained. All of the balconies face south which provides full sun all day along with a unrestricted view of the Gulf.

Our code for entry to the pool area changed so we had to ask during our stay how to access the pool. The ad for the hotel said we got free coupons to do activities but nothing was in our condo as such. Unit lacks a few items in the kitchen and phone service (cell) did not work in the unit, on the property or in that area well at all.
