The heater in my room didn't work. I didn't exactly feel safe as a woman traveling alone especially when a worker knocked on my door and asked to enter my room to look at the electrical panel. I let him in and he walked straight into the bathroom, looked around and walked back out. Overall felt very suspicious. I'm glad I was only staying there for 1 night

We really enjoyed our stay and will be recommending this hotel to others. Great location - quiet and safe, within walking distance to all major points of interest. Professional and attentive staff, clean and very spacious room with full kitchen plus a nice restaurant on site with enough menu choices at reasonable prices. Secure closed parking garage is another bonus.

Another perfect stay at the State Plaza! Upgraded again to a spectacular suite. Spotless and all the comforts. Ideally located near own alma mater GW and between the Mall and Georgetown. Super friendly check in. A definite favorite. Already planning our return.

Nice place. The heat was out this is something I felt I should have been told at check in. The parking sucks but other than that it was a very nice place.

From now on, this is my go-to hotel in DC! I've known about this place for years, but it's my first time to stay there and I absolutely LOVED IT!!!!

The hotel was ok. Need upgrading as far as tv was fuzzy, bed was like a brick and no heat. Therefore the hotel offered space heaters. If these items was upgraded this could definitely be a great hotel. Overall the room was clean and the deluxe suite was very spacious and also easy excess to monuments.

We had intended to stay here for the weekend. Our first night, though, the room was easily 75 degrees or more. We called the front desk. They said the entire hotel had to be either on AC or heat. It was set to heat. So no matter how low we set our room, it wouldn’t get any colder. We checked out early after one night.

Good location and large, clean, comfortable room. The first day things were quiet, but the second day we could hear the people talking and moving around in the room next to us right by our beds. Staff was efficient and helpful. Check-in was a bit frustrating because we checked in in one building but then had to drive to another one and my gps only recognized one address for the hotel so we ended up driving around a couple times using a hand map the staff gave us that was difficult to read in the dark in a busy city. Fortunately street parking was free and available because of the time we arrived, or we would have spent $48/day to park. We had to once again drive around looking for parking. There were several stairs leading into the building and again from the lobby to the level with rooms/elevator which makes transporting luggage difficult. Fortunately the staff was quick to offer help with carrying our bags.

The hotel only has parking garage available and our vehicle did not fit in the garage. We had to park on the road which means time constraint as far as when we could park in the evening and how soon we had to get out the shower didn’t have hot water and the shower didn’t drain and see the picture. The kitchen was freezing as was the whole room, we turned the heat on in our room, but it did not work. They told us that the building was old and the heat was not on the whole building even though it was going down into the 30s at night. They did actually bring us a heater to the room see the picture below. Most expensive rooms we ever booked. And we will never book here again. The staff wasn’t even apologetic. I won’t recommend this hotel unless it’s the last one available.

Overall the room and service was excellent but my TV didn’t work. I spoke with the front desk and was told a technician would come and fix it but it was never fixed and when I went to check out I was told there was nothing that they could do. This was very frustrating. I paid to have all accommodations. I expected more from a hotel of this statue.

It was OK. It was an older hotel, with a GREAT location, with, however, limited services for the price. One example: The heater didn't work. When we asked for a space heater though, they promptly provided one. (The staff was very pleasant and accommodating.) Overall, our experience was OK.
