We arrived late and was sent to a room where the room was occupied and we walked into a person sleeping-not a HAPPY SITUATION. We wrote long time in advance with a wish to stay at the same floor 3 rooms - and one was send to another floor - until the situation about walking into another room -THEN we got a room at the same floor. The rooms are very NICE AND CLEAN. THE HOTEL location is PERFECT in the middle of everything. The day time service was excellent. The restaurant and bar was so kind and REALLY GOOD.

From the minute, I arrived, the staff were very engaged, helpful and supportive. The taxi driver would not take a credit card for payment, which has never happened to me in Germany and the concierge didn’t miss a beat and just went out and paid for it so I could get settled into my room. I would definitely recommend this hotel for the people, the location in the overall layout of the hotel.

This hotel is absolutely first class. Perfect location close to shopping area. Very nice and comfortable rooms. Good bed. Very service minded staff. Superb breakfast. 10/10.

Your IT system is terrible.
Your booking system on your website did not work when I booked, so I had to use Expedia instead.
You offer hi speed wifi to H Rewards members, but the registration didn't work. Your staff admitted that it doesn't work. So I had to use slow wifi speed like a non-member.
Your electronic key cards failed to operate the lift. Your staff said this is happening to most guests. So every time that we wanted to go up to our room, we had to get help from staff, who were not immediately available.
I am not impressed. Your Berlin hotel Am Kanzleramt was much better. Your central Hamburg hotel is poorly managed and the IT people should be fired.

Great location, very nice facility, friendly and helpful staff, able to assist in English as well as German. Nice conference facilities, with excellent view, and very good food.

The front desk never answers their phone, room service took forever, there was a dead fly in our room upon check in, and when more congregated during our stay, staff did little to remedy the problem. Apart from that, the area was great, with local transportation and bistros.

Beautiful 5 star hotel in an amazing location. The rooms were updated in a tasteful and chic way. The location is right by the train station and in an area with reseaurants and coffee shops. It is walking distance to the beautiful city hall. Would definitely come back.

Was for business trip and I don’t book steigenberger for long time because last time I booked it the spa was not working
This time it was working which was great
Sauna and steam were working but other facilities were off except gym

A/C didn’t work, the menu of the room service is in german, once we translated the food is only german food, and once we call to order, the say that they are out of food.
The staff of the breakfast restaurant have no kindness at all.

Nicely arranged rooms. Good location. What is not 5* quality is the fact that you only get a complimentary bottle of water on your first night of the stay. Next day you are not eligible for one more. Minibar - none, the card on the fridge tells you to go to the lobby and get whatever you need from a vending machine. Again, not a 5* hotel service. Wooden decors over the beds are a killer for the cleaning staff aparently, as dust settles there and is not removed. Drilling (lasting for more than 1,5 hours) in a room above our rooms at 9:40 in the morning could be handled a bit better. Painting of the common arreas going on the whole day, with foils sticking out from the walls/ ceilings throughout the day and night. It is like your 5* stay is partially delivered in a construction area, with no word on it from the hotel staff.
