Nice motel to stay in that is close and convenient to all that SLO has to offer. Rooms are clean, well appointed, comfortable and great for a few nights stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. For the price a fantastic spot.

Clean and easy, decent location. Walkable to downtown and Cal Poly SLO campus. Paper-thin walls and the smell of marijuana every time I stepped outside.

Wife and I booked a 2-night stay for our first ever trip to San Luis Obispo. Arriving by Amtrak, we walked the one mile through a mix of residential and commercial neighborhoods. Our room wasn't available for early check-in so Jerry, Owner-Manager, held our luggage and delivered them to our room. Our queen bed room was spacious and included a desk/chair and small table with 2 chairs. We appreciated the original hard wood flooring, and the wood furniture. The TV and bathroom was on the small side. Towels were replaced daily to our pleasant surprise. The water pressure and hot water temp were decent. The property is being renovated so there is a mix of old with new (like SLO). No frills though there's free parking. It's an easy walk to the fun downtown area, and for those needing more steps, we also walked up to the Cal-Poly campus. Given the high prices for SLO lodging, the Sunbeam offered an incredibly value. The owner grew up in SLO, attended Cal-Poly, and had a corporate career before returning home to run the family business. It's a good feeling to support a locally owned business.

Room was older (liked the real wooden floors!) but clean and adequate. Room was small and set up nicely with table, chairs and desk. Staff is friendly and helpful. Bathroom was tiny but clean with everything we needed.

Everyone was very nice. I enjoyed my stay. My one suggestion would be to update there beds, a little hard for my liking. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Room was nicely furnished, bed was comfortable, looks like they are upgrading the property as they have a lovely new office. Quiet, safe, owner was very friendly and when I left some of my jewelry he immediately texted me to let me know! Smaller, unique hotel, bathroom was rather small but had a wonderful showerhead and nice shampoo and bodywash dispensers. Larger refrigerator, nice microwave and coffee maker as well. Great price for what can be a very expensive area to find a hotel room in. Great place to stay when you are in SLO!!!

The front desk person was great! He let us check in an hour early, text us when the room was ready. And even moved our bags up to our room prior to our return. He went above and beyond. The room was clean and comfortable. It’s quiet. Great place to stay for the night. I’d definitely stay here again!

Great stay! The manager was amazing and super helpful and responsive. The room was very clean and comfortable. I would have loved a few more tv channels. It was a yucky rainy weekend and I was stuck inside for a while and the channel selection is very minimal. But the location is great and this is a perfect little motel!

This is a nice and conviently located property. Everything in the room functioned properly. The bed and pillows are quality and comfortable. The room has nice and thoughtful extra touches. The staff is accommodating and welcoming.

Very welcoming and accommodating property. Clean, eco-friendly and quiet rooms. Highly recommended especially for those on a budget (though be sure to drop by soon -- renovation is underway and this hidden gem could become more lucrative an attraction).
