We stayed in their Werf Cottage, a great space for families. We loved the large garden and the proximity to their Carnival playground.
Unfortunately it seems that no one is paying attention to the details. Their website is very professional but the staff on site isn't reflecting that. For example the apartment had broken chairs, loose towel bar and closet door, ... that would require maintance.
Weirdest thing was the bottle of local wine on our room. There was no cork screw in the apartment to open it and unfortunately the Jonkershuis restaurant nearby already closes at 6pm. We were able to solve it next day but also charged for the bottle on checkout with the comment that there should have been a note next to it (there was no note).
A comment on breakfast: Very nice options (liked the eggs benedict) but you need to be patient as the service is slow. Took us 30 minutes to order although there were almost no other guests on one day.
Overall they could make much more out of it with all the nice surroundings.

We loved the beautiful historical buildings and the beautiful surrounding park with the Peacock, Ducks and chickens. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly.
This place is also great for children as they have their own playpark with restaurant! We will bring our grandchildren next time!

It’s close to the charming town of Stellenbosch, and has lovely gardens. The rooms upstairs are small and somewhat dark due to the thatch, but they are good value and are in the main house which dates from the 1700’s. There’s no access to indoors common areas in the house though. No pool but great play area for kids! The cafe is darling tho outside so it’s best to come Dec til end March!

The welcome and check-in was great. Literally, nothing beyond a big smile and a "let me help you". No paperwork, no documents to be signed. Nothing. The room was very comfortable although, being in an attic, beware your head.

The place is gorgeous and peaceful and the manager was very helpful and nice. Unfortunately, our room while very interesting and unique on the 2nd floor, was freezing cold (we were there in August) and smelled like a barn because of the hay roof. There is a "heater" in the room, which just blew cold air on us and made matters worse. The bathtub is beautiful and old fashioned but there's no shower, so you have to sit in the tub and shower manually. This would have all still been okay for the great price, but on our last day we were exploring the grounds and were shooed away. I had seen photos of the beautiful house and paintings on the Orbitz website, so we wanted to see them in person. They are however, on the first floor, and we were told since we were staying on the second floor, we were not allowed in that part of the house. That was a huge disappointment and off-putting seeing as we were made to feel like we were trespassing or up to no good. That ruined the stay for us unfortunately. There's plenty of potential for this to be a fantastic place--perhaps if you get a room on the first floor during a warmer time of year.
