Positives are that the Hotel was nice - clean and aesthetically pleasing. What was less good was that we arrived at 1:30am and waited 10 minutes outside in the cold before someone let us in even though it said reception was open until 3am. Secondly, there was extremely loud building works in the building attached to the hotel room we stayed in. this was so loud it woke us up just before 8am i.e we only had 6 hours sleep. The tools the builders were hitting the wall with were so powerful that objects like picture frames on the walls of the hotel actually fell off on to the floor. We complained about the noise to ask for a partial refund as no where in the hotel description did it mention the noise and the receptionist just said “yes this happens everyday from 8am - there is nothing we can do, sorry”. This was disappointing to say the least.

Plenty of mosquitos inside the room at night despite best efforts to keep everything closed. thin mattresses on old beds. Convenient location in city center. Pleasant staff. Old villa with a couple of charming patios, but thats not enough to make me go back, even at a low price.

My room had no air conditioning (it did have a fan that I was told about in a closet) after my first sweltering night. No in room T.V. (read the small print) . Communal T.V.. as are the fridge and microwave. Further from the zocalo then I expected.
