Tried to swim but all the concrete dust was flying on us and in our lunch. When Reno’s are done, I think it will be a great little hotel. It’s no wonder we snagged a deal. The facility is like under maintenance. When we enter to the room the first thing is stink even from bed sheet and blanket. The bathroom is bad design. The water from the shower is splash everywhere. Toilet bowl is wobble. There is a leak on the walkway when raining. Location is good staff is nice except the reception on the night shift, he is not professional at all.

Family room was very comfortable. U really like the breakfast and the private beach

The hotel was not as expected. The beach view room was modern and nice however it was dirty and also the view to the sea was obstructed by multiple trees. The pool location was poor and only got sun until 1pm however there was lack of sunbeds on the beach area. Brek Man (the man that cooks the eggs) was the highlight of our stay, he was friendly happy funny and took the time to get to know the customers. The local was great and the town was wonderful, had great bars, restaurants, shopping and massages.

The staff at the reception was kind of rude at the check out. Base on thai culture with customer service experience, they could be nicer and more polite. The pool was nice, location was great, room was ok, bathroom was old could do some updates, no elevator to the third floor for your belongings. Wifi was suck. I didn't expect too much base on the star of hotel but I expected the better customer service.

The breakfast was OK...we decided to eat out. But others seemed to be enjoying it. I would go back and just ask for a room with better internet...:)

Nice enough hotel in Khao Lak. Breakfast buffet was OK. Internet coverage was very poor (Tip for hotel - don’t allow open access to everyone and issue passwords to guests). Beach area was very compact with many people that were not actual hotel guests using the sun lounges (at a cost). Overall though this hotel was suitable.

Very rundown hotel. They are building a new part to the hotel but the old part looked like a mine field. Pool was good. Breakfast okey, not magnific. WiFi really bad, didn’t work at all.

Smelly. Basic. Not pretty property like most others. Overgrown. Seaview room with no sight of sea because too many trees, not manicured property. Smells poopy. Overpriced.

Great service and family atmosphere especially for Xmas holiday. The hotel puts on an event for the whole family. I never knew they had an event like this here. I will definetly come back. Also great canceling policy with hotels.com.

I stayed for 1 night at the Suwan in December 2014. The pluses -- nice pool with adjoining hot tub, great location on the beach, excellent buffet style complimentary breakfast with made-to-order omelets in an outdoor setting near the beach. The minuses -- my room smelled musty when I walked in and had a dim look even with all the lights on. The shower water was only hot for about a minute and didn't drain properly so there was standing water in the basin throughout my stay. The room was on the ground floor looking out onto a vacant dirt lot. I recommend inquiring about the room before booking but otherwise enjoyed the external amenities.
