We had a dormer room with sloped ceiling over the bed. The floor and the bed mattress creaked/groaned; there was too much "stuff" in the room, with too little light. Opening the dormer windows (thankfully with screens) helped and provided a nice view of the river, as well as fresh air (no AC). There was loud music from an entertainment venue nearby on one night. The hosts were very nice and the breakfasts were very good.

We had a wonderful stay at Auberge La Chatelaine! The room and house were beautiful, owners extremely friendly, and the breakfast was amazing. We would definitely stay here again.

A charming Auberge, clean rooms, delicious home cooked breakfast and delightful, helpful owners. Highly recommend spending a couple of nights here. There is much to explore in the area.

The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious - homemade preserves and some of the best crepes I have ever eaten. Our host Laurent was very friendly and helpful, suggesting an excellent bistro for dinner. (We didn’t want one but if you want a TV this place is not for you - there isn’t one)

I disliked nothing. The decor makes it seem like I stepped back to the turn of the 20th century; it's time travel, and it's one of the many pleasures of staying at Auberge la Chatelaine.

We reserved at the last minute on à labour day long weekend and we were grateful to get a room .We we’re given help with our suitcases with a smile as my husband has some difficulty .We had a good sleep and an excellent breakfast on the verandah.The view was magnificent .Thank you

A beautiful historic place to stay. It hat grat ambiance, delicious breakfast served with Covid in mind on a tray. We could order the items beforehand. Very clean and charming. It had a view at the st Laurent. We were able to eat out side. Thank you so much for our first stay in an auberge since Covid 19

It was a confusing reception by the hosts. We had been driving over 3 hours and I needed to use the washroom urgently. I was ushered upstairs to our room which seemed fine until I came back down again. Thenhe started a long complaint that I didn’t greet the host and his partner properly upon arrival. I did not know they were upset until it was going on for awhile. Thought, I was civil enough by introducing myself, shaking his hand and saying “bonjour” to his partner before going to my room. I was baffled by his comments. He said nobody treated them the way I did that I am in their house not a hotel. He said guests will be showed around first before going to the room. I think his partner was upset that I had my boots in the house. I apologized whatever indiscretions and that I didn’t know and had to use the washroom urgently. I am not used to a B & B setup. Perhaps, it was language barrier but it was still bizarre. They later warmed up to us. We made small talk, things seemed settled. Room was small, I couldn’t sleep as it was noisy as I could hear people showering, chatting well into 2am. Breakfast was very good. I won’t go back there again but I do see the charm in their establishment. B&B isn’t for everyone. They have cats.

Overall it was very good, the only issue that I had was with the bed size and comfort, too rough for my back, they need to change the mattress. They have forgotten to give me the wifi password and I never found this information on my room, as my return was at 11h00, I dint have someone to ask the wifi password, this information should be done when the guest arriving.

The owner was knowledgeable and generous with his time. The property is beautiful. The breakfast was very good with many options. The bathroom facilities were not to our liking as the bathtub and sink were in the bedroom and the toilet was in a small cupboard that was uncomfortable. My partner and I found this distressing. It was up two steep flights of stairs. This was not the room we reserved in the hotels.com ad but we were told the hotel was full when we arrived. The bathtub was very old and enamel was chipped. Impossible to sanitize. If we had known that this was the room we would be offered we would not have booked at this establishment. Although it was otherwise charming we would not return. For future reference there are also two cats in the house. We were charmed by them but many people have allergies to pet dander. Toiletries were limited to very small hand soap and one small bottle of shampoo. Sheets had been laundered with a strong smelling detergent and a diffuser in the room gave it a heavy perfumed smell. No coffee or tea in room and no facilities to make it in the lobby.
