Mine Host was charming and polite and nothing was to much trouble. The room was very comfortable. However, there was no water pressure at all to get the shower to work. Only 3 other people in the hotel (as far as I could tell) and early so didn't think there was a rush on water useage. Breakfast was self service in a cupboard in the room, but generated a load of plastic / rubbish which all went into the same bin.

Stamford is amazing, Candlesticks is charming, the owner is awesome. Very comfortable and enjoyable stay!

Candlesticks is 4old houses converted into a hotel and restaurant so the layout is nicely quirky and charming. A far cry from all those sterile modern places which all look the same. I liked the room which was equipped with a kettle, toaster, a small fridge and plenty of stuff to make my own breakfast and a bottle of fresh milk 😁. As I had to be at work at 7.0 am this was much appreciated as I often do not get breakfast as so many places don’t serve it till 7.30 or 8.00! Free parking directly outside abd fast free WiFi. They were very friendly abd helpful and my room was serviced and restocked each day which many hotels don’t do post Covid Had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent and not expensive. Overall an excellent stay in my opinion. If you want shiny modern and impersonal it might not be to your taste but I reckon it was an excellent place to stay. I just hope I get another job in Stamford.

The manager was so helpful. The room was so well supplied.I even had fresh milk, bread, butter, jams and other assorted breakfast items.Even a small toaster was supplied. The bed was so comfortable. It must be memory foam.Sheets and cover were spotless. I will definitely go back and bring the family.

Lovely stay at this quaint b and b - facilities a little dated but very clean and comfortable enough. A very warm welcome by the host, great value for money.

So incredible! Our host was so kind and personally showed to our rooms and around the restaurant whilst giving us the interesting tidbits about the town. Cannot recommend enough!

Nice convenient slightly quirky stop over with parking!

Excellent location close to town centre in an old building in a quiet area. Room 6 was at the top of narrow stairs and rather small but comfortable. Large bathroom BUT poor hot water pressure (useless shower needs specific shower unit). Main oddity, was that breakfast was provided in a cupboard in the room (everything provided but only one chair in room so breakfast was literally "in bed"). This was a shame as there appeared to be a nice restaurant in the basement of the building.
