Welcome to this 1,300 sf (120 m2) private apartment located in Elizabeth, New Jersey, USA. It is the entire third floor of a 3-story building. The apartment accommodates up to 10 people comfortably with four bedrooms and two full bathrooms. There is a kitchen area for basic meal preparation. There is a small living/dining area in the middle of the apartment.
No parties, events, gatherings, or smoking of any kind -- this is strictly enforced.
Downtown Manhattan New York City is 20 miles away. Newark Airport EWR is 5 miles away. Jersey Gardens Outlet Mall is 2 miles away. NJ Transit Bus No. 24 stops 2 blocks away from the building. You can take this bus for about 10 minutes to Elizabeth Station and catch a direct train to New York City and Newark Airport EWR. The journey from the building to New York City via public transportation (bus and train) takes about one hour.
This building is in the middle of a city and has no parking included. You can find street parking nearby and you do not need a permit to park on the streets. The street parking in this particular area is usually not very difficult. However, you must check the signs and follow the street cleaning regulations. We are not responsible for your vehicle during your stay or any violations or tickets you may receive.
Self check-in and check-out are available. There is a lockbox with keys at the entry door to the building. We will send you the code to the lock box on the day of your arrival, not earlier.
Please note that this apartment is located in an older building. Some recent guests have arrived with higher expectations than what we can provide given the age of the building. The apartment looks like the photos in the listing and we keep it clean. It is a basic space with basic amenities. If you are looking for a functional and competitively priced place relatively close to New York City and Newark Airport EWR, this would be a good space for you. If you are looking for a modern and luxury stay, this is probably not the place for you.
I also just want to make clear that you are renting an apartment and not a hotel room. There are many differences between apartment rentals and hotels, and some newer guests on this platform may not realize it. Hotels are large and often have many rooms, and the ability to change your room should issues arise. Hotels also have staff 24/7 that can help you with every issue or questions that you may have. On the other hand, we are a small operation and manage our listings to the best of our ability. We try hard to create a good experience for guests. We are including this disclaimer here because we have recently seen a rise in guests that seem to view these listings as very similar to a hotel, but in reality it is quite different. Thank you in advance for understanding this.
Before you arrive you will be asked to complete guest verification through third-party provider Superhog. This is done to ensure we are keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations as well as providing both our guests and our properties with extra protection. Superhog will contact you via email and/or text to complete the verification. You will receive the email and/or text about 30 minutes after you confirm your booking. Please complete the verification prior to arriving at the property to enable a quick and easy check-in process. You will be given the choice between a refundable security deposit (administrative fee for this option is $10) or a non-refundable damage waiver (the cost is $35). This process is required. It is not optional. You will not be given access to the listing unless your status is "approved" from Superhog. You will need a valid credit card in order to complete this process. We are fully disclosing this here so that a guest cannot claim after booking that this was not disclosed. We will not give refunds for reservations if you choose not to comply or you are not approved.
Separate from this, you need to leave a security deposit with us using your credit card. This is required. This deposit is to protect us against guests breaking our house rules (e.g. smoking, partying, checking out late, etc.). You will not be allowed to check in if you do not give us the credit card details for the deposit. This is being disclosed here so you cannot claim that you were not aware.
Guests are responsible for bagging all garbage and placing the bags in the bins outside the building, or at the curb, as instructed by the host (host will communicate with guest regarding this).
If your unit has a thermostat and the thermostat is locked, do not tamper with it or try to break open the lock. Doing so is called vandalism and is highly inappropriate. We will withhold your security deposit if you do this and possible submit for more damages depending on the situation.
Also, guests must leave the apartment in the condition they found it (e.g. no leftover food, nothing that creates a need for excessive or deep cleaning). Please wash all dishes that you use, remove food that you've brought in, and discard all trash. Our cleaning fee is lower than most and it covers basic cleaning tasks like washing of linens and towels, vacuuming, etc. The cleaning fee does not cover deep cleaning, excessive kitchen and bathroom cleaning, etc. Thanks for your cooperation!
If you check out late, there will be a $100 per hour fee for each hour or fraction of an hour that you stay beyond the check out time.
If you smoke, use incense, use drugs of any kind (including marijuana and cannabis) anywhere on the property including outside areas and common areas, we will charge a $300 fee. If there are damages related to smoking or drug use, we will charge fees in addition to this $300.
