What an amazing property! The location is great – you'll see tourists walking up and down the street all day, but at the same time it's very peaceful. Just look out the window and you'll see the beautiful river Douro. Walk down and you're right by the river, with a lot of restaurants and the opportunity to just sit back and rest; walk up and it's easy to get to the city centre (it's a short, if hilly, walk to the São Bento station). The apartment itself is absolutely beautiful: it's an old building, and the owner has kept the historic feel while adding a modern bathroom and kitchen (and a big comfy bed). Plus, as you can probably tell by the pictures, it's got *so* much personality! The host was very nice and helpful too.

There was a little miscommunication between me and the host and I had to wait around half an hour outside for her to arrive – be sure to arrange the arrival time properly!
