My partner bragged about the omelet. I was unable to eat in meeting all morning on both days. He was impressed that you cooked to order and the food was good. Which made his trip pleasant.

The staff was very professional and courteous. I am a smoker though you could use a bench and an area for smokers other than my light was out in the bathroom in room 222 so I had to use my sister's room for hair and makeup.

Quiet room ample parking space delicious breakfast and dinner.

The bedside lamps are broken, they cannot be turned on. The shampoo that should have been stuck to the wall in the bathroom fell into the bathtub when we arrived.

We were on 5th floor, which was absolutely fine. But was told to park by a certain number door. Then found out after we got off the elevator we had to walk clear to the other side of the building for our room. Found out later there was another door and elevator that was RIGHT next to our room. Wish we were told that at 1st. There was only 1 set of towels for 2 people. I seen a housekeeper on my floor and asked for another set. She said she would bring us a set but never did, so I had to go down to front desk to ask. Really the only other thing I could say was that my bf and I almost had asthma attacks when we woke up in the morning. His was from the pillows, we didn't know they were going to have feathers and mine was from the amount of dust in the room. The dust wasn't noticed when we got to the room because we just dropped off our bags and left for our adventures. When waking in the morning, I could clearly see the dust when the sun shone on it. There was dust on every end table, the table in front of the couch, tv stand, tv, top of headboard, both side lamps. That's what I seen so I was curious and ran my finger along the furnace and that was caked with dust, then I went into the bathroom and thick dust on the ledge around the mirror. Found a ladybug on the curtain in the room. That wasn't a big deal cause I know they can get in everywhere, but when I pulled back the curtain there was thick dust on the ledge and window. I just happened to look down at the track the window slides on and found rusty screws, nails, alot of dirt and a dead bee. Just glad that sucker was dead cause I'm allergic.

The staff was nice

Booked through a third party, booking.com. Found out on the spot that they did not honor third party bookings even though I literally had a king sized room with a king sized bed confirmed 2 days in advance. They gave us double beds. On top of that, the people next door were throwing a loud party from like 10 pm to 1 am, I even recorded how loud the party got. If Any worker would have simply walked the halls over a 3 hour period they would know how annoying and rude it was. It was just very unfortunate and a disappointment. I was really looking forward to the stay. Honestly I would like a discount or a refund. I do not see why I should ever recommend Double Tree in Independence to anyone, or use the Booking app ever again. Thanks for reading, sorry for ranting, just very disappointing

The rooms look dated and dimly lit. The lamps are torn up and curtains had stains on them. It doesn’t look like housekeeping dust the rooms often either: The elevator wasn’t clean, the rail in the elevator felt like it’s going to fall off, one of the elevators were out of service. I didn’t feel like up to the standard of other Double Tree’s I’ve stayed at before.

The room was very clean and loved the pool and exercise area. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
